HAMMARÖN Pergola
This document provides assembly instructions for the IKEA HAMMARÖN pergola. Please read all instructions carefully before beginning assembly.
General Information
As floor materials vary, screws for fixing the pergola to the floor are not included. For recommendations on suitable screw systems, contact your local specialised retailer.
Assembly typically requires two people and may require the use of a ladder for higher steps.

Assembly Steps
Step 1: Prepare Upright Poles
Attach base plates (10106761) to the bottom of four upright poles. Use two screws (10110523) and the Allen key (130445) for each base plate. Ensure the base plate is oriented correctly.

Step 2: Assemble Horizontal Beams (Part 1)
Connect connector plates (10106760) to the ends of four long horizontal beams. Use two screws (10101723) per plate. Ensure correct orientation, avoiding the incorrect configuration shown (❌).

Step 3: Assemble Main Frame (Part 1)
Begin assembling the main frame by connecting the upright poles to the horizontal beams. The diagram shows connecting the top horizontal beams to the uprights. Pay attention to the correct orientation, as an incorrect assembly is indicated (❌).

Step 4: Assemble Main Frame (Part 2)
Connect the horizontal beams to the upright poles. Use screws (10101723) and washers (10101727). Arrows indicate the direction of insertion.

Step 5: Assemble Main Frame (Part 3)
Attach the remaining horizontal beams to the upright poles. Use screws (10101723) and the Allen key (130445).

Step 6: Assemble Horizontal Beams (Part 2)
Connect the shorter horizontal beams to the upright poles. Use screws (10101723) and washers (10101727). Arrows indicate insertion.

Step 7: Assemble Main Frame (Part 4)
Connect the remaining horizontal beams to the upright poles. Use screws (10101723) and the Allen key (130445).

Step 8: Assemble Roof Support Poles
Assemble the roof support poles by inserting the shorter poles into the longer poles. The diagram shows 4 connections being made.

Step 9: Attach Rings to Roof Supports
Attach the rings (10106786) to the roof support poles. The diagram shows 4 rings being attached to one pole, with a hand indicating the action.

Step 10: Assemble Side Frame Sections
Assemble the side frame sections. Connect the horizontal and vertical pieces using screws. The diagrams show hands guiding the parts and screws being inserted.

Step 11: Assemble Main Frame (Part 5)
Assemble the main frame structure by connecting the uprights and horizontal beams. Arrows indicate the direction of connection. Use screws (10101723) and washers (10101727).

Step 12: Assemble Roof Structure
Assemble the roof structure by connecting the roof support poles. Arrows indicate the folding and connecting motion.

Step 13: Erect Main Frame
Erect the main frame structure. This step typically requires two people. Use a ladder for higher connections. The diagram shows connecting two pieces with a sliding motion.

Step 14: Secure Roof Structure
Secure the roof structure to the main frame. Use 4x screws (10101723) with washers (10101727) for some connections, and 8x screws (10101723) with washers (10101727) for others. The Allen key (130445) is used for tightening.

Step 15: Attach Hook Brackets
Attach the hook brackets (10106787) to the frame using screws (10110523).

Step 16: Assemble Curtain Support Poles
Assemble the curtain support poles by inserting the poles into each other until they click. The diagram shows 5 connections being made.

Step 17: Attach Roof Fabric

Step 18: Hang Side Curtains (Part 1)

Step 20: Secure Roof Fabric

Step 21: Attach Corner Supports
Attach the corner supports (10106761) to the base of the pergola legs. The diagram shows them being pressed down.

Step 22: Secure Pergola to Ground
Secure the pergola to the ground for stability.
- For grass or soil: Insert ground stakes (10102303) into the base of the legs using a hammer. ⚠️ Use caution when hammering to avoid injury.
- For hard surfaces: Use appropriate screws (not included) to attach the base plates to the ground. The diagram shows screws being inserted into the base plates.

Step 23: Final Curtain Attachment
