Dewenwils Outdoor Wi-Fi Smart Box
This guide provides instructions for the Dewenwils Outdoor Wi-Fi Smart Box, a device designed for controlling outdoor electrical equipment like pool pumps and water heaters.

Power Indicator:
- Blinking Light: Ready to connect to Wi-Fi router.

Power Button: Press to manually override the Smart Box and turn the unit ON/OFF.
Reset Button: Used to reset the Smart Box.
Installation Instructions
WARNING: This timer should be installed by a licensed electrician. Turn power off at the main panel before servicing this switch or the equipment it controls.
IMPORTANT: For outdoor use. Rain-tight or wet location conduit, hubs, tubing, and cable fittings that comply with requirements of UL 514B must be used for installation.
- Read Important Safety Information before beginning installation.
- Open outer cover by releasing the spring latch.
- Remove the interior protective cover by removing the two screws (Figure 1).
- Select knockouts: Remove the inner 1/2" knockout using a screwdriver. For a 3/4" knockout, remove the outer ring with pliers. Smooth any rough edges.
- Mount the Smart Box: Place in desired location, mark mounting keyhole, install a screw partially, and attach the Smart Box by placing the keyhole over the screw. Tighten screw firmly.
- Wire in accordance with national and local codes. Use only copper conductors, #8 AWG wire, suitable for at least 175° F (80° C). Tighten all connections to 12in-lbf.
- Grounding: Terminate all ground wires to the grounding lug at the bottom of the enclosure (Figure 2).
- Replace interior protective cover.
- Close outer cover. The Smart Box is now ready to be connected to the Wi-Fi router via the app.
Important Safety Information:
- WARNING: Risk of Fire or Electric Shock. Read instructions thoroughly before installation and preserve for future reference.
- Disconnect power at circuit breaker and test that power is off before installing or servicing.
- Wiring must be in accordance with all national and local electrical code requirements.
- The maximum total load to be controlled must not exceed Smart Box capacity.
- When metallic conduit is used, install grounding type bushings and jumper wires in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
Connecting to Wi-Fi Router
Note: The blue light will continue blinking until setup is finished via the smartphone app. Once connected, the blue light will remain on continuously.
- STEP 1: Tap the Smartphone's Settings icon.
- STEP 2: Tap the Wi-Fi icon, then tap the ECO icon.
- Choose a Network: Select your Home Router or another available network. Enter the device name (e.g., ECO-XXXXXX).
- STEP 3: Fill in the information: Enter ZIP code (US) or telephone number area code (Canada). Enter Wi-Fi Router name and password. Click SAVE SETTINGS or JOIN.
To Add Additional Smart Boxes: Repeat steps 1-3 for each additional Smart Box, giving each a unique name.
Using the Dewenwils App
The Dewenwils app allows you to control your Smart Box.
- Selecting a Device: Slide the desired icon to the lower left position to select which Smart Box you want to control. The selected device name will change color.
- Programming the Timer: Tap the Timer icon, then the Add icon. Select timer functions, set on/off times for hours, minutes, and days, and tap the checkmark to accept.
- Editing the Timer Program: For iOS, tap the Timer icon, then the Edit icon. For Android, tap the Timer icon, then tap the arrow that appears on the right of the setting to enter editing mode. Tap and hold the program to edit.
- Activating Cloud Service: Tap the cloud status icon, then Settings, then Add device to the cloud.
- Adding Multiple Users: Tap the Settings icon of the additional user's smartphone, then the Wi-Fi icon, and link to the same home router. Tap the ECO icon.
Features and Functions
- Electrical Bill: Function not available on this device.
- Settings: Set up your Wi-Fi Smart Box, transfer to cloud mode, or rename the device.
- Timer: Set ON/OFF programs (up to 12 custom events).
- Cloud Icon: Activates remote access via 3G, 4G, LTE, public Wi-Fi, or other Wi-Fi routers.
- Mailbox: Email consumer service or share app feedback.
- Programmable Timer: Set custom ON-OFF events.
- Countdown Timer: Device turns off after a selected time.
- Astronomical Timer: Device turns on or off at sunset or sunrise.
- Holiday Random: Device turns on or off randomly within specified time frames.
- Security Random: Device turns on and off randomly between chosen start and end times.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Resetting the ECO Smart Box: Press and hold the Power button while pressing the Reset button with a toothpick for 3-5 seconds until the Wi-Fi Status Indicator light turns off. Release the Power button. The light will blink, indicating it's ready for reconnection. This process removes settings and disconnects from the Wi-Fi router.
