Important Advisories
IMPORTANT: It is advisable to use a sealant on mating faces, and around any mounting points on the rear panel to prevent any water damage to the chassis or boot.
Installation Instructions
- Remove the rear bumper. This involves undoing two fixings along the rear panel, two fixings behind the boot side panel along the bumper edge, one tip screw and one push-in clip on each wheel arch, four fixings along the rear panel, and two along the lower edge.
- Remove the bumper beam. Note: This component is not refitted with the towbar.
- Temporarily release the battery and jack mounting bracket to gain access to the towbar mounting holes.
- Locate item C (L/H Side Arm) and item D (R/H Side Arm) into each chassis. Using item H (M12 x 40 Bolts & S/P Washers) with item L (12 x 40 Flat Washers), loosely bolt these to the existing holes.
- Using item G (M12 x 50 Bolts, Nuts & S/P Washers) with item L (12 x 40 Flat Washers) and item M (12 x 25 Flat Washers), loosely bolt item A (Crossmember) through the side arms and rear panel. Note: It is advisable to use a sealant to prevent any water leaking into the chassis or boot.
- Using item K (M8 x 20 Bolts, Nuts & S/P Washers) with item N (8 x 20 Flat Washers), loosely bolt item E (Bumper Support Bracket) to item A. Adjust to suit bumper alignment.
- Using item J (M12 x 22 Bolts & S/P Washers) with item M (12 x 25 Flat Washers) and item F (M12 x 25 Bolts & S/P Washers) with item M (12 x 25 Flat Washers), bolt item B (6202 Detachable Neck) and item P (Flip Up Socket Plate) to item A.
- Fully tighten all nuts and bolts. Ensure the towbar is rigid and secure.
- Refit the bumper. If required, adjust the bumper bracket (item E) to provide maximum support.

Notes
- Recommended Torque Setting for M12 Grade 10.9 bolts is 10.9 - 139 Nm. (Refer to overleaf for other torque settings).
- Nose load limits and vehicle manufacturers' trailer/caravan weight limits must be observed.
