1 Overview
The SBT2000S swing barrier turnstile is designed for smooth and silent operation with low power consumption. It is made of durable SPCC material. Barriers are normally locked, denying access until a valid RFID card or fingerprint is recognized by the reader, allowing passage. In emergencies, barriers swing open for quick exit. During power outages, the barrier can be manually pushed for egress. The SBT2000S offers security, convenience, and a compact design, supporting fingerprint and RFID readers.
1.1 Chassis and Dimensions
The SBT2000S series features a simple, beautiful, and anti-corrosive design made of SPCC. It ensures orderly passage and restricts unauthorized access, facilitating timely evacuation during emergencies. The physical dimensions of the SBT2000S Swing Barrier Turnstile are illustrated in a diagram showing approximately 1109mm height, 800mm width, and 187mm depth for the main unit, with other measurements indicating component placement and clearances.
1.2 Mechanical System
The mechanical system comprises the chassis, which houses the reader, sensor, and lock. Key components include the Motor, Frame, and Swing Arm.
1.3 Electronic Control System
The electronic control system consists of the Reader, Control Panel, Access Controller, IR Sensor, and Transformer. The Reader processes RFID card data. The Control Panel acts as the system's center, receiving signals, performing logic, and commanding the motor. The Access Controller grants access to authorized individuals. The IR Sensor detects objects or people to prevent crushing. The Transformer steps down voltage to 24V for the control panel.
A schematic diagram of the electronic control system shows connections between the PGIC10-SV main board, reader, control board, motor, clutch, IR sensor, 24V power supply, and other components, indicating areas like 'Card Reading Area' and various ports.
1.4 Working Principle
- Upon power-on, the SBT2000S performs a Power-on Self-Test. If no failure is detected, the barrier operates normally. Errors are displayed on the LCD screen with error codes.
- When a valid card is read, a buzzer provides audible confirmation. The reader sends signals to the access controller for passage permission. If authorized, the access controller signals the master control panel to open the barrier.
- The control panel receives the signal and sends valid control signals to the electric motor to open the barrier.

2 Installation
2.1 Installation Notes
- Install the swing barrier turnstile on a horizontal solid platform with a height of 50 mm to 100 mm, ensuring the horizontal angle does not exceed ±0.7°.
- Avoid using the turnstile in corrosive environments.
- Ensure the earth wire is reliably connected to prevent personal injury or accidents.
- After installation, verify the reliability of connections at earth wire points, connector assemblies, wiring points, and all movable parts. Tighten any loose fasteners to prevent operational failures.
2.2 Installation Position
The installation position depends on the unit's size. If installed near a wall, maintain a 100 mm distance for ease of installation. The SBT2000S can form a single channel or two channels with another unit. Diagrams illustrate single and dual channel installation configurations, showing the turnstile placed near a wall with a 100mm clearance and indicating overall dimensions for single and dual lane setups.
2.3 Cables Installation and Fixation
For concealed cable outlets, refer to the diagram showing mounting holes. The input voltage is AC100V to 120V/200V to 240V. PVC conduits are buried 100mm underground, with an exposed part exceeding 100mm. The conduit outlet is bent back to prevent water ingress.
Diagrams detail the installation holes and cabling positions for the SBT2000S, including screw hole placements and conduit routing for underground installation. Mark screw holes at the stand's center and chassis base edge. Use a hammer drill for M12 screw holes. Place the turnstile according to the figure before fixation. Connect all cables and perform a power-on test, then tighten screws if the test is successful. It is recommended to mark a warning line on the ground to indicate where pedestrians should stand when swiping the card.

4 Maintenance
4.1 Chassis Maintenance
The chassis is made of SPCC. After substantial service, rust stains may appear. Regularly sand the chassis surface with sandpaper and coat with anti-rust oil. Do not cover the infrared sensor.
4.2 Movement Maintenance
Cut off power supply before maintenance. Open the door, clean dust from the surface, and apply lubricant for smooth movement. Check and tighten other connection parts.
4.3 Power Supply Maintenance
- Cut off power supply before maintenance.
- Check if any plug, nut, screw, or fastener is loose and tighten if necessary.
- Do not replace connection positions randomly.
- Check if the external power supply is exposed and properly wrapped. Regular servicing is required if there is any leakage.
- Verify that the technical parameters of the menu setting interface are normal.
- Replace aging electronic components.
Note: SBT2000S swing barrier maintenance must be performed by professional personnel, especially for the movement and electric control parts. For operational safety, cut off the power supply when the barrier is not in use.
5 Troubleshooting
No. | Failure Description | Cause and Solution |
---|---|---|
1 | Gate open, but it is not in place. | Cause: Substantial motor resistance. Solution: Increase the value of minimum compensation speed. |
2 | No sound. | Cause: Speaker wire is loose or volume is turned off. Solution: 1. Check if the speaker wire is loose. 2. Check if voice is turned off. |
3 | Swing arm is not centred. | Cause: Incorrect position of swing arm. Solution: Go to the "Swing arm zero correction" menu and adjust it to the zero position. |
4 | The control panel LCD shows "Encoder wiring error". | Cause: Reversed wiring of encoder A and B phase. Solution: Check if the wiring of encoder A and B phase is reversed. If yes, replace it. |
5 | The direction of gate open is inconsistent with swiping card. | Cause: Reversed signal line of access controller left and right gate. Solution: Check if the access controller left and right gate signal line is reversed. If yes, adjust the right and left gate signal line. |
6 | Swipe card, but gate does not open. | Cause: Menu setting interface does not exist, gate signal of access controller is not connected properly, or current mode is set to "card unavailable". Solution: 1. Check if the menu setting interface exists. 2. Check if the gate signal of the access controller is connected to the gate controller. 3. Enter menu to see if current mode is set to "card unavailable". |
