Installation

Connecting the Receiver

Power Connection: Connect the supplied AC adapter to an electrical outlet and to the DC 12V socket on the rear of the GOMono receiver.

Audio Connection: Connect the audio output to your mixing desk using either a balanced XLR cable or an unbalanced 6.35mm Jack cable. Do not use both outputs simultaneously to avoid signal loss and increased noise.

Volume Adjustment: To ensure good sound quality and prevent distortion, adjust the volume according to the input type:

  • For microphone input: Set volume to approximately half. Output levels will be around 77 mV.
  • For line input: Set volume to approximately three-quarters. Output levels will be around 770 mV.

Output Level Adjustment: Adjust the output level based on the mixing desk's input level: MIC level: -20dBm, LINE level: 0 dB.

Commissioning GOBody and GOHand Transmitters

  1. Battery Installation: Open the battery compartment and insert two LR6 or AA batteries, observing correct polarity. For the GOHand, unscrew the battery compartment panel first.
  2. Microphone Connection: Connect the mini-XLR plug of the microphone to the transmitter box input.
  3. Power On: Press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds to activate the device.
  4. Note: For long periods of non-use, turn off the microphone and transmitter and remove the batteries.

Battery Charge Level Indicator

The status LED on the microphone or transmitter flashes when batteries are low and need replacement or charging.

Using the Output Selector (Transmitter)

Use the MIC/LINE selector on the transmitter to adjust the input level:

  • Set to MIC for condenser microphones (GOLava, GOHead).
  • Set to LINE for line-level devices (e.g., CD players).

Using the 19" Coupler (Optional: FREE-RACK Code H9374)

The optional coupler allows two GOMono receivers to be mounted together in a 19" rack. Each receiver comes with necessary screws; the coupler binds them together.

Configuring Channels

Use the rotary selectors on the transmitters and receivers to select the UHF carrier frequency. Ensure the transmitter and receiver are set to the same channel. For simultaneous use of multiple microphones, choose frequencies that are as far apart as possible. For example, for the F8 series: Mic 1 on Channel 1 (823.175 MHz), Mic 2 on Channel 6 (827.375 MHz), Mic 3 on Channel 13 (863.275 MHz), Mic 4 on Channel 16 (864.725 MHz).

This frequency range allows up to 4 microphones to be used simultaneously under optimal conditions. However, reception performance can be affected by environmental disturbances.

Troubleshooting

No Sound:

  • Check power supply units.
  • Verify frequency channels match between transmitter and receiver.
  • Check connections between receiver and amplification system.
  • Verify transmitter/receiver distance and Squelch settings.
  • Ensure the receiver is not obstructed by a metallic surface.
  • Check battery status.

Poor Sound Quality or Interference:

  • Check antenna position.
  • Ensure each transmitter uses a different frequency.
  • Rule out interference from other devices (TVs, radios, etc.).
  • Check receiver volume.
  • Check battery status.
  • Adjust the input gain of your mixing desk channel.

Audio Feedback Warning

Watch out for audio feedbacks: Avoid high gain levels on your mixing desk or high volume on your receiver. Maintain a reasonable distance from the speakers. Feedback can cause severe damage to your hearing and sound system.
