GNSS Performance Analyzer
The GNSS Performance Analyzer (GSM020) allows users to measure and analyze various aspects of their RC car and aeroplane performance using the latest GNSS engine (GPS, GLONASS). It provides data on acceleration, G-force, speed, distance, and time. The device also features a barometric pressure sensor to detect altitude, capable of measuring peak altitudes up to 29,500 feet (9000m). This tool offers an affordable way for enthusiasts to gauge and improve their performance, providing real feedback on modifications and helping to make informed decisions.
Mounting the Device
- Determine the optimal installation location. The antenna can receive signals through glass and plastic, but not metal or other conductive surfaces. To avoid interference, ensure the antenna is not covered or shielded by any metallic object.
- Ensure the surface is clean, free from dirt or debris.
- Use the provided hook and loop tape to secure the device to the surface.
- The device uses a barometric pressure sensor for altitude detection, so it must be exposed to air pressure. Avoid placing it in an airtight container.
GNSS Performance Analyzer App
Install the free GNSS Performance Analyzer app from the App Store or Google Play. The device requires Bluetooth for communication, so ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
Connect Before Using
Upon launching the app for the first time, you will be prompted to choose your device. Click the Bluetooth symbol and select the GSM020 device.
Acquiring satellite signals may take a few minutes. The GNSS LED will turn GREEN when it has successfully connected with GNSS satellites.
Reconnect After Using
During testing, your Bluetooth connection may be lost as the connection range is limited to 30 feet (10 meters). This is normal, and the controls may disappear when the analyzer is out of range. The device continues to record data. After racing or flying, bring your mobile device and the GNSS performance analyzer closer together. The mobile device will automatically reconnect to the analyzer.

Charging the Device Before Use
Charge the device using the provided USB cable, connecting it to a powered USB port or USB charger. The power LED will blink slowly during charging. Once the internal battery is fully recharged, the Power LED will turn solid white. Charging should take no more than 3 hours. The battery provides up to 6 hours of operation, and up to 2 weeks in standby mode.
Drag - To Tell the Truth Before and After Modifications
This mode is for gear tuning or performance testing. The device automatically starts and stops logging. It begins logging when a satellite lock is achieved and a speed exceeding 1.0 km/h is detected, and stops when pre-set criteria are met.
Test Data Example:
- Time elapsed: 0'5.860"
- Speed: 0-40 km/h
- Acceleration: 0.72g
Instructions: Click the "Drag" icon. Measure acceleration with custom settings (e.g., 0-40 km/h, 10-50 km/h, 10 meters). The test can only be initialized when the vehicle is at a standstill.
Track - Performance Test
Determine how fast your RC car can run. This device is ideal for RC racing, allowing users to easily track data such as speed and total distance, and record top speed.
Test Data Example:
- Distance: 23m
- Time elapsed: 0'17"
- Avg Speed: 12km/h
- Max. Speed: 16km/h
Instructions: Automatically displays "Test Data" when pre-set criteria are achieved. Click "Share" to share testing data. (Excel format is available only for Drag mode). The test can only be initialized when the vehicle is at a standstill.
Flying - How High Things Fly & Performance Test
In "FLYING" mode, the device can measure peak altitude up to 29,500 feet (9000 m). This mode is suitable for planes, quadcopters, rockets, helicopters, gliders, and kites.
Test Data Example:
- Max. height: 15 m
- Max. Speed: 68 km/h
Instructions: Select "Flying" mode. The test can only be initialized when the vehicle is at a standstill.
