Technical Specifications

Power On

Smart Power On: Simply take the earbuds out from the charging case.

Manual Power On: Long press the Multifunction Button (MFB) on either earbud for 3 seconds until the LED light indicates power on (typically a blue LED).

After powering on, both earbuds will automatically pair with each other and enter connection mode, indicated by alternate green LEDs.

Pairing

1. Turn on the Bluetooth functionality on your phone/media device and scan for available devices.
2. Search for ‘boAt Airdopes 491’ and select it to pair.
3. Enter ‘0000’ as the passkey if prompted.

Congratulations! Your earbuds are now connected successfully via Bluetooth.

Notes:

• Pairing mode lasts for 5 minutes. If missed, reconnect and repeat the procedure.
• Airdopes 491 remembers previously connected devices and will automatically reconnect when switched on.

Basic Functions

• Voice Assistant: Long press the MFB on either earbud for 2 seconds to activate your device's voice assistant (Google/Siri).
• Answer/Hang Up Call: Single press the MFB on either earbud to answer an incoming call or hang up an ongoing call.
• Reject Call: Long press the MFB on either earbud for 2 seconds to reject incoming calls.
• Play/Pause Music: Single press the MFB on either earbud to play or pause music.
• Next Track: When music is playing, double press the '+' button on the right earbud.
• Previous Track: When music is playing, double press the '-' button on the left earbud.
• Power Bank Function: In case of emergency, the 3350mAh charging case can be used to charge your phone or media device.

Note: Volume cannot be controlled via the earbuds; it must be adjusted on your phone/media device.

Voice Assistant Usage

1. Long press the Multifunction Button on either earbud for 2 seconds.
2. The respective voice assistant screen will appear on your device. You can then issue commands.

Example Commands:

• "What is the weather?"
• "Play a song"
• "Where are The Pyramids located?"

Single Earbud Usage

Both earbuds can be used independently in mono mode.

1. Use either Smart Power On (taking out from case) or Manual Power On (long press MFB for 3 seconds) for the desired earbud.
2. The selected earbud will automatically enter connection mode.
3. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone/media device and search for ‘boAt Airdopes 491’ to connect.

Notes:

• To switch to Stereo mode, take out the other earbud. It will automatically power on and pair with the first earbud.
• Track skipping or returning to previous tracks is not possible in Mono mode.

Charging The Earbuds

1. Place both earbuds back into the charging case in the correct orientation.
2. A red LED on the earbuds will indicate they are charging.
3. Once fully charged, the LED will turn off or change color (specifics not detailed in OCR, assuming off or steady).

Note: Keep the charging case lid closed while charging. Use a 5V/2A adapter for optimal charging.

Charging The Case

1. Connect one end of the Type-C cable to the charging case and the other end to a computer or wall adapter.
2. The LED lights on the charging case indicate the battery status. A blinking red light signifies charging, and a steady red light indicates a full charge.

Battery Indicators

Case Battery Status (When Not Charging)

• 0%-25%: One LED stays solid.
• 25%-50%: Two LEDs stay solid.
• 50%-75%: Three LEDs stay solid.
• 75%-100%: Four LEDs stay solid.

Case Battery Status (When Charging)

• 0%-25%: The first light flashes slowly.
• 25%-50%: The second light flashes slowly.
• 50%-75%: The third light flashes slowly.
• 75%-100%: The fourth light flashes slowly.

Factory Reset

If you encounter issues like one earbud not working or connection problems, perform a factory reset.

1. Place both earbuds back into the charging case in the correct orientation.
2. Triple press the MFB on both the Left and Right earbuds.
3. Close the charging case lid, then reopen it.
4. When you take the earbuds out, they will automatically restart.

Congratulations! Your Airdopes 491 has been reset.

Troubleshooting

Common Problems with Solutions

• If only one earbud is functioning: Simply insert the earbuds back into the case and take them out again, or perform a Factory Reset.
• If earbuds are not in scan mode (no alternating LEDs): Put both earbuds back into the case and take them out again, or perform a Factory Reset.
• If earbuds disconnect during a phone call: Charge the earbuds or perform a Factory Reset.
• If there are other exceptions in usage: Place the earbuds back into the charging case and try using them again, or perform a Factory Reset.

Warnings & Precautions

• Please follow the instructions to operate the earbuds.
• Charge the earbuds according to the charging norms mentioned on the packaging and in this manual.
• Do not use the earbuds in extreme temperatures.
• Do not use the product near water.
• Keep the product away from heat sources, as heat may cause damage.
• Do not block ports such as the charger port or LED port.
• It is recommended to use the product below maximum volume to protect hearing and extend the earbuds' service life.

Advisable: The earbuds may start at 100% volume. It is advisable to reduce the volume on your phone/media device when the earbuds are switched on.
