Thank you for using the Jabra Evolve2 65 Flex. We hope you enjoy using it!

2. Overview of Jabra Evolve2 65 Flex

Left Side:

  • Sound modes button: Switch between ANC and HearThrough.
  • Power/Bluetooth button: Turn on/off (2 sec), Bluetooth pairing (4 sec).
  • Volume up button: Increases volume; press and hold for next track.
  • Play/pause music button: Play or pause music.
  • Volume down button: Decreases volume; press and hold to restart current track, double-press for previous track.

Right Side:

  • Busylight and Microsoft Teams status light: Indicates status.
  • Wireless charging zone: Place the left earcup here to charge.
  • Mute/unmute microphone: Toggle mute by moving the microphone boom up or down.
  • Voice assistant button: Activate voice assistant (Siri, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa).
  • Call/Microsoft Teams button: Answer/end calls, manage Microsoft Teams.

*Requires a Microsoft Teams variant headset.

3. Wearing

3.1 Adjusting the Headset

Adjust the headband so the headset fits comfortably on your head.

3.2 Positioning the Microphone Boom

Move the microphone boom down or up in a smooth motion. When using the microphone, position the end of the boom close to your mouth.

Safety Notice: Microphones may be used to record private conversations.

4. Charging

The headset can be charged using the wireless charging pad or a USB charging cable connected directly to the headset.

It takes approximately 2 hours to fully charge the battery. The headset battery lasts up to 32 hours. If the battery is depleted, a 15-minute charge provides up to 6 hours of use.

4.1 Charging with the Wireless Charging Pad (Optional Accessory)

Connect the charging pad to a powered USB port on your computer using the included USB charging cable. Place the left earcup on the charging pad. The wireless charging pad is intended for charging only.

The light on the wireless charging pad illuminates to indicate the left earcup is correctly placed and the headset battery is charging. The status LED on the headset will flash green, yellow, or red to indicate battery status. When fully charged, the headset and charging pad LEDs will turn off.

4.2 Charging with USB Charging Cable

Connect the USB charging cable to the USB-C charging port on the left earcup and a USB port on your computer. It is recommended to use the Jabra-provided charging cable, but a compatible charger can also be used.

4.3 Power Saving Modes

The headset has two power-saving modes: Sleep mode and Deep sleep mode.

  • Sleep Mode: When the headset is on but not worn, it automatically enters sleep mode to save battery. Simply wear the headset to exit sleep mode.
  • Deep Sleep Mode: After 4 hours in sleep mode, the headset automatically enters deep sleep mode to further conserve battery. Press any button to exit deep sleep mode. The duration before entering deep sleep mode can be adjusted via the Jabra Sound+ app or Jabra Direct. After 24 hours in deep sleep mode, the headset will turn off completely. To turn it back on, slide the On/Off switch to Off and then back to On.

5. What the Lights Mean

Busylight/Microsoft Teams Light:

  • Busylight: Solid red when in a call, indicating you do not wish to be disturbed.
  • Incoming Call: Slow flashing blue.
  • Connecting to Microsoft Teams: Slow flashing blue.
  • Microsoft Teams Timeout: Slow flashing blue after 10 seconds.
  • Microsoft Teams Notification: Fast flashing purple.
  • Headset placed on wireless charging pad: Pulsing white.

Status LED:

  • Green: Power on / Full battery.
  • Yellow: Battery half charged.
  • Red: Battery low.
  • Flashing Red: Battery critically low.
  • Blue: Pairing mode.
  • Purple: Resetting / Firmware updating.
  • Pulsing White: Headset placed on wireless charging pad.

*Requires a Microsoft Teams variant headset.

Jabra Link 380/390 LED:

  • Red: Microphone in Mute-stand.
  • Purple: Connected to computer and logged into Microsoft Teams.
  • Slow Flashing Purple: Headset attempting to connect to Microsoft Teams (Timeout after 10 seconds).
  • Fast Flashing Purple: Microsoft Teams notification.
  • Blue: Bluetooth connection.
  • Cyan: Streaming music/media.
  • Green: Incoming call/active call.

*Requires a Microsoft Teams variant headset.

6. Connecting

6.1 Connecting to a Computer

Insert the included Jabra Link 380/390 into a USB port on your computer. The Jabra Evolve2 65 Flex and Jabra Link 380/390 are pre-paired and ready for use. The Bluetooth range is 30 meters (98 feet).

To listen to audio through the headset, you may need to set the Jabra Link 380/390 as the audio device in your operating system's sound settings.

Download and use Jabra Direct to manually pair the Jabra Evolve2 65 Flex with the Jabra Link 380/390.

Before first use, it is recommended to update the firmware using Jabra Direct or Jabra Sound+.

Safety Notice: There is no encryption for data exchange between the headset and USB devices or ports.

6.2 Pairing with a Smartphone

  1. Press and hold the Power button on the headset for 4 seconds until the light flashes blue and you hear a pairing announcement.

  3. Go to the Bluetooth menu on your smartphone and select the Jabra Evolve2 65 Flex from the list of available devices.

When pairing with an Android device with Google Fast Pair enabled, simply put the headset in pairing mode, and your nearby Android device will prompt you to pair.

Before first use, it is recommended to update the firmware using Jabra Direct or Jabra Sound+.

Safety Notice: The headset uses a secure Bluetooth connection with a 128-bit encryption key. If your Bluetooth device does not support secure connections, you cannot pair or connect with the headset.

7. Usage

Controls Overview:

Left Earcup:

  • Sound modes button: Press to switch between ANC and HearThrough.
  • Power/On-Off button: Press and hold for 2 seconds to turn the headset on or off.
  • Volume up button: Press for volume up; press and hold for next track.
  • Play/pause button: Play or pause music.
  • Volume down button: Press for volume down; press and hold to restart current track, double-press for previous track.

Right Earcup:

  • Microphone boom: Move down to answer calls, move up to mute.
  • Voice assistant button: Press when not on a call to activate voice assistant. Press when on a call to use voice assistant.
  • Call/Microsoft Teams button: Answer/end calls, manage Microsoft Teams.

*Requires a Microsoft Teams variant headset.

7.1 Turning the Headset On/Off

Press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds to turn the headset on or off.

7.2 Calls and Music

Right Earcup:

  • Play/pause music: Press the Play/pause button.
  • Answer call: Press the Call button. You can also answer an incoming call by moving the microphone boom down.
  • End call: Press the Call button.
  • Reject call: Double-press the Call button.
  • Adjust volume: Press the Volume up or Volume down buttons while on a call or listening to music.
  • Next track: Press and hold the Volume up button for 1 second.
  • Restart current track: Press and hold the Volume down button for 1 second.
  • Previous track: Double-press the button to go back to the previous track.
  • Busylight on/off: Press and hold the Volume up and Volume down buttons simultaneously. You will hear 'In call' or 'Available' in the headset.
  • Listen to battery and connection status: Press the Volume up or Volume down buttons when not on a call or listening to music.

7.3 Voice Assistant

Use the Voice button to activate Siri, Google Assistant, or Amazon Alexa on your smartphone.

Right Earcup:

  • Activate Voice Assistant (Siri, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa): Press the Voice button when not on a call.

7.4 Busylights

The Busylights on the headset automatically turn red when you are in a call to indicate you do not wish to be disturbed. You can manually turn the Busylights on/off by pressing the Volume up and Volume down buttons simultaneously.

Busylight settings can be configured via the Jabra Sound+ app or Jabra Direct.

7.5 Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) suppresses noise by detecting and analyzing incoming sound patterns and generating a counter-signal to cancel the noise. This significantly reduces distracting background noise during music and calls.

Left Earcup:

  • Switch between ANC and HearThrough: Press the Sound modes button.
  • Turn off Sound modes: Press and hold the Sound modes button for 1 second.

The Active Noise Cancellation level can be configured via the Jabra Sound+ app or Jabra Direct.

7.6 HearThrough™

HearThrough uses the integrated microphones to allow you to listen to your surroundings and participate in conversations without removing your headset.

Left Earcup:

  • Switch between ANC and HearThrough: Press the Sound modes button.
  • Turn off Sound modes: Press and hold the Sound modes button for 1 second.

The HearThrough level can be configured via the Jabra Sound+ app or Jabra Direct.

7.7 Mute/Unmute with the Microphone Boom

The headset microphone can be muted by moving the microphone boom up, or unmuted by moving it down.

This function is enabled by default and can be disabled in the Jabra Sound+ app or Jabra Direct.

Safety Notice: Sensors on microphone booms may be used to detect if someone is nearby.

7.8 Answering Calls with the Microphone Boom

An incoming call can be answered by moving the microphone boom down.

This function is enabled by default and can be disabled in the Jabra Sound+ app or Jabra Direct.

Safety Notice: Sensors on microphone booms may be used to detect if someone is nearby.

7.9 Multiuse

The headset can be paired with up to eight Bluetooth devices and connected to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously (e.g., Jabra Link 380/390 and a smartphone, or two smartphones). The headset can accept multiple incoming calls from both devices.

To pair with two Bluetooth devices, follow the standard procedure for each device separately (refer to section 6.2).

Note: Voice assistant is activated on the last connected Bluetooth device.

7.10 Handling Multiple Calls

The headset can receive and handle multiple calls simultaneously.

Right Earcup:

  • End current call and answer incoming call: Press the Call button.
  • Put current call on hold and answer incoming call: Press and hold the Call button* for 2 seconds.
  • Switch between a call on hold and an active call: Press and hold the Call button* for 2 seconds.
  • Reject incoming call during a call: Double-press the Call button.

*Applies only to non-Microsoft Teams headsets.

7.11 Audio Notifications

Audio notifications provide connection and battery status, and announce pairing instructions. Audio notifications are enabled by default.

Right Earcup:

  • Enable/disable audio notifications: Press and hold the Voice button and the Volume up button for 5 seconds until you hear an announcement in the headset.

Audio notifications can be configured via the Jabra Sound+ app or Jabra Direct. Refer to the Jabra Sound+ app or Jabra Direct for the most up-to-date list of supported languages.

7.12 Resetting

Resetting the headset will clear the list of paired devices and all settings.

Right Earcup:

  • Reset pairing list and settings: Ensure the headset is turned on and you are not in a call. Then, press and hold the Call button and the Volume up button simultaneously for 3 seconds, until the indicator light turns pink and you hear an announcement in the headset.

You will need to re-pair the headset with the Jabra Link 380/390 via Jabra Direct, or with your smartphone (see section 6.2).

8. Software and Firmware

8.1 Jabra Sound+

Jabra Sound+ is a mobile application that allows you to configure your Jabra Evolve2 65 Flex according to your needs.

8.2 Jabra Direct

Jabra Direct is a desktop application designed to support, manage, and enable optimal functionality for Jabra devices.

Download the latest free version at jabra.com/direct.

8.3 Updating Firmware

Before first use, it is recommended to update the firmware using Jabra Direct or Jabra Sound+. Firmware updates improve performance or add new functionality to Jabra devices.

The headset firmware can be updated using Jabra Direct on your computer or the Jabra Sound+ app on your smartphone. Both applications will notify you when a firmware update is available.

The firmware for the Jabra Link 380/390 Bluetooth adapter can be updated using Jabra Direct on your computer.

9.2 Maintaining Your Headset

  • Always store your headset in the included pouch.
  • To keep the battery in optimal condition, avoid storing the headset in extreme temperatures (too hot or too cold), such as in a parked car in summer or during winter conditions.
  • It is recommended to store the headset at temperatures between -10°C and 55°C (14°F and 131°F).
  • Do not store the headset for extended periods without charging it (maximum three months).
