2. General Description of the Jabra Evolve2 55
Left Side:
- Activate/Deactivate ANC / Voice Assistant: Button for ANC and voice assistant functions.
- LED Status/Busy Light: Indicates connection status and call presence.
- Power On/Off: Press and hold for 2 seconds to turn the headset on or off.
- Bluetooth Pairing: Press and hold for 4 seconds to enter pairing mode.
- USB-C Charging: USB-C port for charging (approx. 2 hours for a full charge).
Right Side:
- Microphone: Adjustable boom microphone.
- Volume Up / Skip Track: Press to increase volume. Press and hold for 1 second to skip to the next track.
- Play/Pause Music / Mute Microphone: Press to play or pause music. Press during a call to mute or unmute the microphone.
- Volume Down / Previous Track: Press to decrease volume. Press and hold for 1 second to restart the current track. Double-press to go to the previous track.
- Answer/End Call / Microsoft Teams Control: Press to answer or end a call. May also control Microsoft Teams functions.

3. How to Wear
3.1 Wearing Styles
Mono Variant: The headset is worn on one ear with the microphone boom.
Stereo Variant: The headset is worn over both ears with the microphone boom.
3.2 Adjusting the Earcups
Headband: Adjust the headband so the earcups fit comfortably on your head.
Articulated Boom: It is important to position the microphone close to your mouth. The articulated boom can be bent to achieve the best placement.
Safety Note: The sensors on the microphone boom may potentially be used to detect user presence.
3.3 Folding Earcups
The earcups can be folded flat for storage.
4. How to Charge
The headset can be charged using the optional charging stand or directly via a charging cable connected to the headset. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours. A fully charged battery provides up to 18 hours of talk time. If the battery is depleted, 30 minutes of charging will provide 9 hours of battery life.
4.1 Charging with the Charging Cable
Connect the USB charging cable to the USB-C charging port on the right earcup, and then to any available USB port on your computer. It is recommended to use the supplied Jabra charging cable, but a compatible charger can also be used.
4.2 Charging with the Charging Stand (Optional Accessory)
Connect the charging stand to a powered USB port on your computer using the supplied charging cable, then dock the headset onto the charging stand. The charging stand can also be connected to any USB power source.
The headset's battery LED will briefly flash white to indicate correct docking. The battery LED will flash green, yellow, or red to indicate the current charging status. A solid green LED indicates the headset is fully charged.
4.3 Sleep Mode
If the headset is on but not in use for music or calls, sleep mode will automatically activate after 4 hours to save power. To exit sleep mode, press any button. You can adjust the sleep mode activation time via the Jabra Sound+ app on your smartphone or Jabra Direct on your computer. After 24 hours of inactivity, the headset will power off completely. Press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds to turn the headset back on.
5. What the LEDs Indicate
Power & Battery Status LEDs
- LED Off: Headset is off.
- Solid Green: Battery charged.
- Solid Yellow: Battery partially charged.
- Solid Red: Battery low.
- Flashing Red: Battery critically low.
- Flashing Blue: Pairing mode.
- Flashing Purple: Restoring/Updating firmware.
Status/Busy Light LEDs
- Solid Red: Busy light is on (indicating you are in a call).
- Solid Green: Call is active.
- Slow Flashing Purple: Incoming call.
- Slow Flashing Purple (with text): Headset is attempting to connect to Microsoft Teams. Wait time is 10 seconds*.
- Fast Flashing Purple: Microsoft Teams notification.
Other LED Indicators (on Jabra Link adapter or headset)
- Solid Red: Muted.
- Solid Purple: Connected to computer and logged into Microsoft Teams*.
- Slow Flashing Purple (with text): Headset is attempting to connect to Microsoft Teams. Wait time is 10 seconds*.
- Fast Flashing Purple: Microsoft Teams notification.
- Solid Blue: Bluetooth connection established.
- Solid Green/Purple: Incoming call / Active call.
- Solid Blue/Green: Music/Multimedia playback.

6. How to Connect
6.1 Connecting to a Computer
Connect the supplied Jabra Link 380/390 to a USB port on your computer. The Jabra Evolve2 55 and the Jabra Link 380/390 are pre-paired and ready to use without additional configurations. The Bluetooth range is up to 30 meters (100 feet).
To hear music through the headset, you may need to select the Jabra Link 380/390 as the playback device in your operating system's audio settings.
To manually pair the Jabra Evolve2 55 with the Jabra Link 380/390, download and use Jabra Direct.
Before first use, it is recommended to update the headset to the latest firmware using Jabra Direct or Jabra Sound+.
Security Note: There is no encryption for data exchange between the headset and USB devices or ports.
6.2 Pairing with a Bluetooth Device
- Press and hold the Power (On) button for 4 seconds until the LED flashes blue.
- Follow the voice prompts to pair your Bluetooth device.
To complete pairing, you may be prompted to confirm an access code that will be displayed on your phone and announced by the headset. If both access codes match, confirm it on your phone and press the Call button on the headset.
Before first use, it is recommended to update the headset to the latest firmware using Jabra Direct or Jabra Sound+.
Security Note: The headset uses a secure Bluetooth connection with a 128-bit encryption key size. If your Bluetooth device does not support secure connections, you will not be able to pair or connect to the headset.
7. How to Use
7.1 Powering On/Off
Press and hold the Power (on) button for 2 seconds to turn the headset on or off.
7.2 Calls and Music
Answering a Call: Press the Call button. You can also move the microphone boom down to answer a call.
Ending a Call: Press the Call button.
Rejecting a Call: Double-press the Call button.
Bringing Microsoft Teams to the Foreground on your Computer: Press the Call button* (if logged into Microsoft Teams).
Joining an Active Microsoft Teams Meeting: Press the Call button* (if logged into Microsoft Teams).
Viewing Missed Calls and Voicemails in Microsoft Teams: Press the Call button* (if logged into Microsoft Teams).
Raising/Lowering Hand during a Microsoft Teams Meeting: Press and hold the Call button* for one second (during a Microsoft Teams meeting).
*Requires the Microsoft Teams variant of the headset.
Play/Pause Music: Press the Play/Pause button while listening to music.
Mute or Unmute Microphone: Press the Play/Pause button during a call.
Listen to Battery Status: Press the Play/Pause button when not on a call or listening to music.
Adjust Volume: Press the Volume Up or Volume Down button when on a call or listening to music.
Next Track: Press and hold the Volume Up button for 1 second.
Restart Track or Go to Previous Track: Press and hold the Volume Down button for 1 second to restart the current track. Double-press to play the previous track.
Busy Light On/Off: Press the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons simultaneously.
Listen to Battery Status: Press the Volume Up or Volume Down buttons when not on a call or listening to music.
7.3 Busy Lights
To indicate to others that you are busy, the headset's busy lights automatically illuminate in red when you are on a call. To manually turn the busy lights on or off, simultaneously press the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons.
7.4 Mute or Unmute the Microphone Using the Microphone Boom
The headset's microphone can be muted by moving the microphone boom upwards, or unmuted by moving it downwards. This function is enabled by default and can be disabled via the Jabra Sound+ app on your smartphone or Jabra Direct on your computer.

7.5 Answering a Call Using the Microphone Boom
Move the microphone boom downwards, close to your mouth, to answer an incoming call. This function is enabled by default and can be disabled via the Jabra Sound+ app on your smartphone or Jabra Direct on your computer.
Safety Note: The sensors on the microphone boom may potentially be used to detect user presence.
7.6 Voice Assistant
Press and hold the ANC button for 1 second when not on a call to activate the voice assistant on your phone (e.g., Siri, Google Assistant, or Amazon Alexa).
7.7 Multi-device
The headset can be paired with up to 8 Bluetooth devices and connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously (e.g., the Jabra Link 380/390 and a phone, or two phones). The headset can accept multiple incoming calls from either of the two devices. To pair with two phones, use the normal pairing process separately for each (see section 6.2). The voice assistant will activate on the last connected phone.
7.8 Managing Multiple Calls
The headset can receive and manage multiple calls simultaneously.
- End current call and answer incoming call: Press the Call button.
- Put current call on hold and answer incoming call: Press and hold the Call button* for 2 seconds.
- Alternate between held call and active call: Press and hold the Call button* for 2 seconds.
- Reject incoming call during a call: Double-press the Call button.
*Only for UC variants of the headset.
7.9 Voice Guidance
Voice guidance consists of messages that guide the user during setup or inform about the headset's status (e.g., connection status or battery status). Voice guidance is enabled by default.
Activate/Deactivate Voice Guidance: Press and hold the ANC button and the Volume Up button for 5 seconds until you hear a notification on the headset.
You can also use the Jabra Direct application on your computer or Jabra Sound+ on your smartphone to activate or deactivate voice guidance. For an updated list of compatible languages, consult the Jabra Sound+ app on your smartphone or Jabra Direct on your computer.
7.10 Sidetone
Sidetone allows you to better hear your own voice during a call. Sidetone settings can be configured using the Jabra Sound+ app on your smartphone or Jabra Direct on your computer.
7.11 Factory Reset
Restoring the headset will erase the list of connected devices and reset all settings.
Reset Headset: Ensure the headset is turned on and no call is active. Press and hold the Call button and the Volume Up button simultaneously for 3 seconds until the LED illuminates pink and you hear an audio prompt. You will need to re-pair the headset with your Jabra Link 380/390.
8. Software and Firmware
8.1 Jabra Sound+
Jabra Sound+ is a mobile application that allows you to update the headset with the latest firmware to add new functionalities and configure it according to your needs.
8.2 Jabra Direct
Jabra Direct is a desktop application designed to support, update, and manage Jabra devices to ensure their optimal performance. Download the latest version for free at jabra.com/direct.
8.3 Firmware Update
Before first use, it is recommended to update the headset to the latest firmware using Jabra Direct or Jabra Sound+. Firmware updates improve performance or add new functionalities to Jabra devices. Jabra Sound+ or Jabra Direct will notify you when the firmware is updating or when a firmware update is available.
Using Jabra Sound+: Connect the Evolve2 55 via Bluetooth to your phone.
Using Jabra Direct: Connect the Evolve2 55 to a computer using the USB cable or the Jabra Link 380/390 Bluetooth adapter.

9.2 Headset Care
- Always store the headset in its case.
- To avoid reducing battery capacity or lifespan, do not store the headset in extreme cold or hot environments, such as a car in direct sunlight or in winter.
- It is recommended to keep the headset between -10 °C and 50 °C (14 °F and 122 °F).
- Do not store the headset for prolonged periods without recharging (three months maximum).
9.3 How to Clean Your Jabra Device
Follow these hygiene best practices to keep your product clean.
- Apply water and dish soap to a cloth, ensuring you wring out excess liquid so the cloth is not soaked. Use only water and soap; do not use harsh cleaning products.
- Gently wipe the product, ensuring it is clean and free of foam residue on the surface.
- Let it rest for at least one minute.
- Rinse the surface by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth, using only water.
- Let it dry.
- If you are not using the product, do not place it on dirty surfaces to keep it clean and store it in the carrying pouch.
