Quick Guide: Dishwasher

Home Connect Setup

Tip: Connect your appliance to a mobile device. The Home Connect App allows for convenient setting adjustments.

1. Scan the following QR code [QR code for Home Connect app]. This code allows you to install the Home Connect App and connect your appliance.

2. Follow the instructions provided within the Home Connect App.

Water Hardness Settings Overview

This section provides an overview of the adjustable water hardness levels. For country-specific units, please refer to the full operating manual.

Setting the Water Softener

1. Press the [Setup button].

2. To access basic settings, press and hold the [Setup button] for 3 seconds. ✔️ The display shows Hxx. ✔️ The display shows 'set'.

3. Press the [Start button] repeatedly until the desired water hardness level is displayed.

4. To save the settings, press and hold the [Setup button] for 3 seconds.

Filling Special Salt

To prevent appliance damage, fill the special salt reservoir only immediately before starting a program.

  1. Unscrew and remove the lid of the special salt reservoir.
  2. For first-time use: Fill the reservoir completely with water.
  3. Fill the special salt into the reservoir. The water in the reservoir will be displaced and drain out. Never add detergent. [Diagram: Funnel shown, salt being poured, water draining].
  4. Place the lid back on the reservoir and screw it shut.

Filling Rinse Aid

  1. Press the latch on the lid of the rinse aid reservoir and lift [lift action]. [Diagram: Lid being opened].
  2. Fill the rinse aid up to the [max fill line]. [Diagram: Rinse aid being poured].
  3. Close the rinse aid reservoir lid. The lid will audibly click into place.

Filling Detergent

  1. Fill the detergent into the dry detergent compartment. [Diagram: Detergent compartment shown].
  2. Close the detergent compartment lid. The lid will audibly click into place. [Diagram: Lid closing with 'CLICK' indicator].

Programs

Program data are laboratory measurements based on European standard EN 60436. Consumption values are guidelines (except for Eco) and vary based on the selected program and additional functions. Running times may change if the rinse aid system is deactivated or if rinse aid is low.

Getting Started

  1. Load dishes. Only load dishwasher-safe items. Remove large food particles from dishes. Ensure the spray arms can rotate freely. [Diagram: Dishwasher interior with dishes].
  2. Fill detergent.
  3. Switch on the appliance [power symbol].
  4. Select a program.
  5. Start the program [Start button].
  6. Unload dishes after the program has finished.
  7. To cancel the program, press and hold the [Reset button] for approximately 4 seconds. The program will be cancelled and will conclude within about 1 minute.

Cleaning Filters

  1. After each wash, check the filters for any residues.
  2. Turn the coarse filter counterclockwise and remove the filter system [remove action]. [Diagram: Filter removal steps].
  3. Pull the microfilter downwards.
  4. Press the retaining clips together and remove the coarse filter upwards [remove action].
  5. Clean the filter elements under running water.
  6. Reassemble the filter system.
  7. Insert the filter system into the appliance and turn the coarse filter clockwise. Ensure the arrow markings align. [Diagram: Filter reassembly and alignment].

Cleaning Spray Arms

  1. Unscrew the upper spray arms and pull them downwards [remove action]. [Diagram: Spray arm removal].
  2. Pull the lower spray arm upwards [remove action].
  3. Under running water, check the spray arm nozzles for blockages and remove any foreign objects.
  4. Insert the lower spray arm. It will audibly click into place.
  5. Insert the upper spray arms and screw them on.

Cleaning Wastewater Pump

  1. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply [power symbol].
  2. Remove the filter system.
  3. Bail out any remaining water.
  4. Use a spoon to pry off the pump cover and grasp the handle [spoon handle]. [Diagram: Pump cover removal].
  5. Lift the pump cover inwards at an angle and remove it.
  6. Remove food residue and foreign objects from around the impeller. [Diagram: Impeller area with debris].
  7. Insert the pump cover and press it downwards [press action]. It will audibly click into place.
  8. Install the filter system.

Troubleshooting

Refer to the table below for common malfunctions and their solutions.

E:32-00 lights up alternately or water inlet indicator lights up.Inlet hose is kinked. Reroute the inlet hose without kinks.
Water tap is closed. Open the water tap.
Water tap is jammed or calcified. Open the water tap. The flow rate must be at least 10 l/min with the water supply open.
Sieves in the water connection of the inlet or Aqua-Stop hose are blocked.
1. Switch off the appliance.
2. Pull out the mains plug.
3. Turn off the water tap.
4. Unscrew the water connection.
5. Remove the sieve from the inlet hose.
6. Clean the sieve.
7. Reinsert the sieve into the inlet hose.
8. Screw the water connection back on.
9. Check the water connection for leaks.
10. Restore power supply.
11. Switch on the appliance.
E:61-02 lights up alternately.Wastewater pump is blocked. Clean the wastewater pump.
Wastewater pump cover is loose. Securely engage the wastewater pump cover.
E:92-40 lights up alternately.Sieves are dirty or blocked. Clean the sieves.
Food residue on dishes. Dishes are loaded too closely together or the basket is overloaded.
1. Load dishes with sufficient clearance. The spray jets must reach the dish surface.
2. Avoid contact points.
Spray arm rotation is blocked. Load dishes so that they do not obstruct the spray arm rotation.
Spray arm nozzles are blocked. Clean the spray arms.
Sieves are dirty. Clean the sieves.
Sieves are inserted incorrectly and/or not locked.
1. Insert the sieves correctly.
2. Lock the sieves.
Too weak a wash program selected. Select a stronger wash program.
Removable streaks on glasses, glasses with a metallic appearance, and cutlery.Rinse aid dosage is set too high. Set the rinse aid system to a lower level.
No rinse aid has been filled. Fill with rinse aid.
Rust marks on cutlery.Cutlery is not sufficiently rust-resistant. Knife blades are often more affected. Use rust-resistant cutlery. Cutlery also rusts if rusty items are washed together. Do not wash rusty items.
Detergent residue remains in the detergent compartment or the tablet collection tray.Spray arms were blocked by dishes and the detergent was not rinsed out. Ensure that the spray arms are not blocked and can rotate freely.
All LEDs light up or flash, or the wash program does not continue.Electronics have detected an error. Press the main switch button for approximately 4 seconds. The appliance will be reset and restarted.
