Assembly Instructions
-
Step 1: Prepare Components
Unpack all components and identify them using the parts list. Ensure you have all necessary pieces before starting assembly.
-
Step 2: Assemble Base Frame
Connect the bottom panel to the two outer side panels. Insert wooden dowels (101341) into the pre-drilled holes and join the panels securely.
-
Step 3: Add Internal Dividers and Shelves
Insert the first set of internal vertical dividers and horizontal shelf panels into the base frame. Secure each piece with wooden dowels (101341).
-
Step 4: Continue Frame Assembly
Add the remaining internal vertical dividers and horizontal shelf panels to build the internal structure of the unit. Secure each with wooden dowels (101341).
-
Step 5: Complete Internal Structure
Insert the final horizontal shelf panels into their designated positions and secure them with wooden dowels (101341).
-
Step 6: Attach Back Panel
Carefully position the back panel onto the rear of the assembled frame. Secure it using the provided screws (e.g., 8x screws indicated in diagrams) into the frame edges.
-
Step 7: Attach Base Elements
Turn the unit carefully onto its front. Attach the decorative base elements to the bottom of the unit using the provided screws (e.g., 10002300).
-
Step 8: Install Wall Attachment Hardware
Turn the unit upright. Attach the metal wall mounting brackets (e.g., 115753, 100372) to the top rear of the unit using the appropriate screws (e.g., 100372). Ensure these brackets are firmly attached to the unit.
-
Step 9: Secure Unit to Wall
Position the assembled KALLAX unit against the wall where it will be placed. Use a spirit level to ensure the unit is perfectly vertical. Mark the wall through the holes in the wall brackets. Drill holes in the wall at the marked locations. Insert appropriate wall plugs (not included) into the drilled holes. Align the unit's brackets with the wall plugs and secure the unit to the wall using suitable screws (not included). It is crucial to use screws and plugs that are appropriate for your specific wall type (e.g., drywall, plaster, concrete) to ensure stability and prevent tipping.
Important Note on Wall Attachment
The KALLAX unit MUST be secured to the wall using the provided anti-tip hardware to prevent serious injury or death from furniture tip-over. Always use wall-mounting hardware suitable for your wall type.
