Installation Guide
Door Preparation
Ensure your door is prepared with the following dimensions:
- Bore Hole Diameter: 1½ inches (for the knob/lever mechanism)
- Edge Bore Diameter: 1 inch (for the latch bolt)
- Edge Bore Depth: 1/8 inch
- Additional Bore Hole Diameter: 2⅛ inches (for the interior trim plate mounting)
- Backset: 2-3/8 inches or 2-3/4 inches
(Diagrams illustrate these door preparation measurements.)
Step 1: Install Latch
Fasten the latch mechanism into the edge bore of the door using two #8 x 3/4" Wood Screws.
(Diagram shows the latch being secured with screws.)
Install Strike Plate
Fasten the strike plate to the door frame using two #8 x 3/4" Wood Screws.
(Diagram shows the strike plate being secured to the door frame with screws.)
Step 2: Remove Inside Trim Plate
Remove the inside trim plate by loosening the set screw with the provided hex wrench. This allows the inside lever/knob to be removed.
To facilitate installation, unthread the nut counterclockwise from the interior plate using the provided spanner wrench before mounting it on the door.
(Diagrams show loosening a set screw and removing a nut with a spanner wrench.)
Step 3: Install Outside Trim Plate
Fasten the outside trim plate to the door using two #8-32 x 1½" Pan Head Machine Screws.
(Diagram shows the outside trim plate being secured with screws.)
Step 4: Install Inside Trim Plate
Secure the inside trim plate to the door by screwing in the flat head screw and threaded nut.
After placing the lever or knob onto the stem, tighten the set screw to secure it.
(Diagrams show the inside trim plate being secured and the set screw being tightened.)
Important Installation Note
The thumbturn and the flat spindle must be in a horizontal position for correct installation of the lock mechanism.
(Diagram indicates the horizontal orientation required for the thumbturn and spindle.)
