Instruction Booklet
Delicious Coffee Made Easily
Drip coffee machines are essentially automatic pour-over machines, and with pour-over coffee experiencing a resurgence, now might be the perfect time to try a drip coffee machine.
The Gevi drip coffee machine gets going with the flip of ON/OFF button, heating water to the optimal temperature for full flavor extraction. Coffee brews into the improved glass carafe that is engineered for comfortable handling and drip-free pouring. All you need to do is sit back, sip and enjoy!
Its compact design makes it small enough to be used for a small household or second home, without sacrificing the features we love. Its Grab-A-Cup auto pause capability allows you to pour a cup before the brewing cycle is finished.
1. Important Safeguards
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and/or injury to persons, basic safety precautions should always be followed when using electrical machines, including the following:
- Read all instructions.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plugs, base or kettle in water or other liquid.
- Close supervision is necessary when the machine is used by or near any children.
- Turn the coffee machine OFF and unplug the power cord from the power source when the coffee machine is not in use and before cleaning. Allow the coffee machine parts to cool down before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning the machine.
- Do not operate any machine with a damaged cord or plug or after the machine malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return machine to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
- The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the machine manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
- Do not use outdoors. For household use only.
- Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- Always attach plug to machine first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to off position, then remove plug from wall outlet.
- Do not use machine for other than intended use.
- Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during brewing cycles. Be careful not to get burned by the steam.
14. Never use the machine if the carafe shows any signs of cracks or carafe having a loose or weakened handle. The glass carafe is designed for use with this machine only. It must never be used on the range top.
15. The container is designed for use with this machine. It must never be used on a range top. (Unless specific instructions for use on a range top are provided and include the precautions to be observed).
16. Do not set a hot container on a wet or cold surface.
17. Do not use a cracked container or a container having a loose or weakened handle.
18. Do not clean container with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive material.
19. Avoid contacting with moving parts.
20. Do not place cloth beneath the machine or otherwise restrict airflow.
21. Use only the Gevi filter with this unit. Other filters may cause the machine to overflow.
22. Do not operate the machine in a machine garage or under a wall cabinet. When storing in a machine garage, always unplug the unit from the electrical outlet. Not doing so could create a risk of fire, especially if the machine touches the walls of the garage or the door touches the unit as it closes.
23. This machine is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instructions concerning use of the machine by a person responsible for their safety.
24. Some parts of the machine are hot when it operates, so do not touch with hand. Use handles or knobs only.
25. Do not let the coffee machine operate without water.
26. There would be potential injury from misuse.
27. Be care of the residual heat of heating element after use.
28. Never leave the empty carafe on the warming plate, otherwise the carafe is liable to crack.

North American models with grounded plugs:
POLARIZED PLUG
This machine has a polarized plug, (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature to reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature or modify the plug in any way. If the plug fits loosely into the AC outlet or if the AC outlet feels warm do not use that outlet.
POWER CORD INSTRUCTIONS:
A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) may be provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer detachable power- supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
- The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the machine;
- If the machine is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding type cord;
- The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
Do not pull, twist or otherwise abuse the power cord.
PRODUCT NOTICES
- Place the machine on a hard, flat, level surface to avoid interruption of airflow underneath the machine.
- Do not operate the machine with an empty water tank.

5. The Quest For Perfect Coffee
5.1 Filling Water
Water quality is crucial for coffee taste. Use filtered water. Do not add hot water, milk, grounds, or tea to the tank. Avoid foreign objects in the tank. Do not exceed the 4-cup maximum to prevent leaks.
5.2 Roast Degree of Coffee Beans
Recommend light or medium roasted beans. High-quality beans are best. Dark roasted beans may require more frequent cleaning. Buy beans in small batches and store them in a cool, dark, dry place.
5.3 Grind Size
Medium grinds are recommended. Fine grinds can lead to bitterness and clogging. Coarse grinds result in weak coffee.
5.4 Grind Dose
Recommend 10g of coffee per cup, up to 40g total. Use the provided spoon for measurement.
Recommended Amounts Of Coffee | ||
---|---|---|
2 CUPS | 3 CUPS | 4 CUPS |

? TIPS: 10g or 2 flat spoons per cup is a guideline; adjust to taste.
5.5 Choosing Filter
Use either the provided permanent filter or a disposable paper filter, but not both simultaneously. Ensure the filter is properly seated in the filter insert and basket.
5.6 Water Volume
Match water volume to coffee grounds quantity (e.g., 20g grounds for 2 cups of water). For bolder coffee, use 1.5 cups of water.
5.7 Closing the Cover
Close the one-piece cover firmly to prevent steam escape.
5.8 Placing Carafe
Ensure the carafe lid is against the filter insert's drip stop. ? TIPS: Avoid using used coffee grounds; reheat coffee is not recommended.
