G-REMOTE User Manual

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing a Graphtec product. This is a cloud service that can be used by customers who have purchased a GL series data logger. You can use the G-REMOTE function to remotely control the GL series connected to the Internet.

1.1 Precautions for use

2. Preparation

2.1 Target model

Please note that the applicable models for each service are different for G-REMOTE and G-DRIVE.

G-REMOTE applicable models

  • GL260

*Optional B-568 is required for wireless LAN connection. *The number of devices that can be connected depends on the number of simultaneous accesses in your contract.

G-DRIVE applicable models

  • GL260 (wireless LAN)
  • GL240 (wireless LAN)
  • GL840 (wired LAN /wireless LAN)
  • GL980 (wired LAN)
  • GL2000 (wired LAN)
  • GL7000 (wired LAN)
  • GLT400 (wired LAN /wireless LAN)

*Optional B-568 is required for wireless LAN connection. *The number of devices that can be connected depends on the number of simultaneous accesses in your contract.

2.2 Operating environment

Please use this service under the following environment.

To use G-REMOTE and G-DRIVE, you need an environment where you can connect to the Internet. *Customers are responsible for preparing the equipment and equipment required to connect to the Internet.

Note - G-REMOTE will not work properly if you access it from multiple browsers or PCs.

3. Service Details

3.1 G-REMOTE screen

This is a service for remotely controlling GL devices. For information on how to register devices, please refer to "Chapter 4 Service Details" in the installation manual. When you access G-REMOTE for the first time, it will be displayed in English. Follow the steps below to switch languages if necessary. (Chinese/English/French/German/Japanese/Korea/Spanish)

  1. Click the "Account" button in the red frame from the G-REMOTE top menu.
  2. Change the language from "Language" in the account menu.
  3. A confirmation message will appear; select OK. Automatically reloads the page when switching languages.
  4. The language setting will apply.

Note G-REMOTE and our applications (GL-Connection, APS, etc.) cannot be used at the same time. Depending on your browser, a pop-up message saying "Do not display the confirmation dialog repeatedly" may be displayed. If you check "Do not display confirmation dialog repeatedly", it may not work properly.

Top menu

This menu is common to all pages.

Language choiceChange the language displayed on G-REMOTE. Reloads the page when changes are made.

3.2 All models Display screen for all models

Displays the waveform of the connected GL device on one page. Displayed when there are two or more registered devices.

Key UI elements include: Display switching, Waveform screen, Digital screen, Waveform menu, Check device information, Recording start/stop button [▶️/■].

Recording start/stop buttonRecording start/stop can be controlled. *Not recorded on the PC side.

Display switching

You can change whether the waveform screen is divided and displayed.

  • Normal display: Display to fill the entire width of the screen.
  • 2-split display: Displays by dividing the width of the screen into two.

Waveform screen

Display the waveform. The waveform update interval is the same as the update interval set in the waveform menu.

Waveform screen: Display the waveform. If the number of displayed points is exceeded, the waveform will scroll. The number of displayed points can be changed from the waveform menu.

Waveform highlight display: Displays the entire waveform. Waveforms can be displayed backwards by switching "Scroll On/Off" in the waveform menu. The maximum number of waveform highlights varies depending on the number of connected devices. Example: When the number of connected devices is 1: Maximum 5000 points. When the number of connected devices is 2: Maximum 2500 points. When the number of connected devices is 5: Maximum 1000 points. If the number of connected devices is 10: Maximum 500 points.

Waveform screen operation

The following operations are only possible when "Screen Scroll On/Off" [⚙️/▶️] in the waveform menu is Off:

  • Waveform scaling: Scale the waveform by moving the mouse wheel over the waveform.
  • Display range change: Change the display range by selecting "zoom" [?] at the top right of the waveform and dragging the mouse.
  • Display range movement: Move the position by selecting "pan" [➡️] at the top right of the waveform and dragging the mouse.

Waveform menu

Check the model name and change the waveform settings.

Identification name displayYou can check the distinguished name.
Display modeSwitch between waveform display and enlarged digital display.
Update intervalYou can change the update interval. Refresh time/ 1,2,5,10,20,30 seconds/1 minute
No. of display pointsChange the number of points displayed on the waveform screen. The waveform scrolls when you change the number of displayed points. *When screen scrolling is on: 10,20,50,100 points
Display CHChange the CH to display. Analog (every 10CH), logic, pulse, calculation (every 10CH)
Scroll On/OffChange the settings for automatically scrolling the waveform screen. By stopping screen scrolling, you can go back and check the waveform.

Attention: Update interval may increase communication traffic.

Digital value display

You can check the digital value.

  • Status display: Displays the main unit status during free running and recording.
  • Digital value display: Displays the digital value of each CH. The displayed CH can be changed from "Change display CH" in the waveform menu.
  • Recording start/stop button: Start/stop recording. *Recording will not start if the recording start conditions are incorrect. Please check the setting. Example: The trigger condition is incorrect, the recording destination media is full, etc.

Check device information

Check information about your device.

  • Logger display: Displays the model.
  • Wireless display: Displays the wireless signal strength (Great ?, Weak ?, Error ❌).
  • Device information display: Displays information about equipment and recording.
  • Battery display: Show battery status. *Not displayed when connected to AC.
  • Free space: Displays free space. *Updated every few minutes.
  • Alarm output display: Displays alarm output status.

Enlarged digital value display

You can check the enlarged digital value. The number of channels displayed in one line changes depending on the screen size.

UI elements include: Waveform menu, Digital value display, Check device information, Recording start/stop button [▶️/■].

3.3 Logger display screen

This is the screen for each model. You can view waveforms, change settings, operate files on the main unit's media, and view information.

Navigation options include: Display switching [➡️], Monitor [?️], Remote display [?], Settings [⚙️], File operations [?], Download timer [⏱️], Information [ℹ️].

Remote display

You can check and operate the GL device screen remotely. You can operate the main unit remotely by clicking the keys on the right side of the screen. Please refer to the main unit manual for details.

Screen update rate: Change the screen update rate. Options: 500ms, 1, 3, 5 seconds.

Note Depending on the update speed, communication traffic may increase if displayed for a long time.

Settings screen

You can view and change device settings. For each setting Item, please refer to the main unit manual of the GL device. *Settings cannot be changed while recording is in progress.

Settings categories include: AMP, DATA, TRIGGER, ALARM, I/F, OTHER.

Use G-DRIVE server.

Use the G-DRIVE of the logged in account. Clicking this will automatically fill in each Item for FTP client settings.

File operation screen

You can download and delete files in the device. You can download/delete multiple files by checking the folders and files. Please refer to the main unit manual for details.

Notes:

  • Files being recorded will not be displayed and cannot be deleted or downloaded.
  • If the language of the device and the language of the file name do not match, it may not be displayed or downloaded correctly.

Download timer screen

This is a function that automatically downloads when the set time comes while the download timer start screen is displayed. Up to 30 times can be set. Download files in the checked folders.

UI elements: Move to upper folder [⬆️], Current folder path, Transfer folder selection, Download timer settings [⚙️], Start [▶️].

Move to upper folderMove up one folder.
Current folder pathDisplays the path of the currently displayed folder.
Transfer folder selectionPlease check the folders that will be automatically downloaded. You can move folders by double-clicking the folder list. You can delete a folder by right-clicking and selecting "Delete".
Download timer settingsSet download timer.
StartOpen the download timer start screen. The download will only occur when the start screen is open. If you close the screen, the download will not occur.

Notes:

  • All files/folders in the checked folders will be downloaded for the first time. From the second time onwards, only files that have been added will be downloaded. Files with the same name will not be downloaded.
  • Once you close the automatic transfer start screen, all files will be downloaded again the next time the start screen is displayed.
  • Files that are being recorded will not be downloaded.
  • While the automatic transfer start screen is displayed, you cannot move to other screens such as the settings screen.
  • If the next time comes during automatic download, it will be ignored.
  • If the language of the device and the language of the file name do not match, it may not be displayed or downloaded correctly.
Download timer settings

UI elements: Time list, Entering the time, Add time [➕], Delete time [❌], OK [✔️], Cancel [?].

Delete timeYou can select a time in the time list and delete it.

Automatic transfer start screen

UI elements: Check the time, Communication log, Cancel [?].

Information screen

Check the information about the main unit.

Firmware RevisionDisplays firmware version. Show revisions.
Connection methodDisplays connection method.
MAC AddressDisplays MAC Address.
IP AddressDisplays IP address.

3.4 CSV file replay screen

This is the screen for playing CSV files saved on your PC or G-DRIVE. You can play up to 5 at the same time by switching tabs. CSV files saved on your PC can be played by clicking the "PC File" button or by dragging and dropping the CSV file onto the screen. To play a CSV file on G-DRIVE, select the file from "G-DRIVE".

Notes: CSV files can be played up to a total size of 50MB. -Depending on the memory installed in your PC, you may not be able to play large CSV files. Only files recorded on devices that can be connected via G-REMOTE can be played. -Files with the same name as files that have already been played cannot be played. Alarm output is not supported. - Only files with a; "," and a decimal point; "." can be read.

UI elements: File tab, PC file [?], G-DRIVE [☁️], Demo replay [▶️], File replay range, Waveform cursor [?], Digital screen, Menu [☰].

File tabSelect the tab to display the waveform. Up to 5 can be played.
PC fileSpecify and play the CSV file in the PC folder.
G-DRIVESpecify and play the CSV file in G-DRIVE.
Demo replayPlay the demo waveform.
File replay rangePlay CSV files by dragging and dropping them onto the screen.
Waveform cursorA cursor will be displayed when you move the mouse cursor over the waveform screen. You can check the digital value at the cursor area displayed on the waveform screen.
Digital screenYou can check the digital value at the cursor area displayed on the waveform screen.
MenuThis is a menu related to CSV replay. You can check the content by hovering over it with your mouse cursor.

CSV replay menu

You can perform searches, etc. Select "Close" [❌] to end file replay.

File nameDisplays the name; the CSV file currently being played.
SearchSearch for data.
CloseFinish playing the CSV file.

Search

You can search for data using specified conditions. Search results are displayed in a list, and double-clicking displays a line.

UI elements: Search conditions [⚙️], Search execution [?], Result list, Close [❌].

*Level value, maximum value, and minimum value searches are applicable to analog, pulse, and calculation channels.
Search executionSearch based on conditions. The time, CH, and value when the conditions are met are displayed. Double-clicking the result will display a mark on the waveform.
Result listThe time, CH, and value when the conditions are met are displayed. Double-clicking the result will display a mark on the waveform.
CloseClose the CSV search screen.

3.5 Custom monitor function (beta version)

This function allows you to freely select CHs from multiple connected devices and display them on a single waveform. Up to 20 channels can be added. The added CHs can be rearranged freely by dragging with the mouse.

Mouse draggable areaIn the waveform screen, the order; CHs is changed by dragging "::" next to the digital. In the digital screen, drag CH to change the CH sequence.

Note When the custom monitor screen is displayed, the update interval; various devices is changed to 1 second.

CH setting screen

Set the CH to be displayed on the waveform. You can select from analog, logic, pulse, and arithmetic CHs whose input is other than Off. Up to 20 CHs can be added.

UI elements: Number; additional CHs / Max., Device Selection [?], CH Display Switch, CH name display, Min. setting, Middle setting, Max. setting, Min color, Max color, Text color, Color point size change, OK [✔️], Cancel [?].

Number; additional CHs / Max.Displays the number; CHs currently added and the maximum number; CHs that can be added.
Display CHDisplays analog, logic, pulse, and arithmetic CHs whose inputs are not Off. CHs can be added by checking the checkboxes.
OKConfirm changes and add the checked CH to the waveform.
CancelCancel changes.

CH Sorting

The order; CHs can be rearranged by dragging the digital values on the waveform and magnified digital screens.

UI elements: Waveform Screen, Enlarged digital value display, Mouse draggable area [↔️].

3.6 Heat area function (beta version)

This function loads an image on a PC and freely places color points on the image. It is also possible to set the color points to change color according to their values. Images with the latest update time can be displayed by specifying a folder on G-DRIVE. Up to five images can be played back simultaneously by switching tabs.

Notes: The total size; image files can be up to 50MB. -Up to 30 color points can be added. -Only analog CH is supported. -Image files that can be played back are JPEG, PNG, GIF, and BMP.

UI elements: Heat Area Screen, File tab, Menu [☰], PC File [?], G-DRIVE [☁️], Demo [▶️], Image drag-and-drop area, Color point [?].

File tabSwitches tabs to display images. Up to 5 images can be played.
PC FileSpecify images in the PC folder to play.
G-DRIVESpecify a folder in G-DRIVE. The latest image with the update time existing in the specified folder is displayed. The image update interval is about 2 seconds.
DemoPlay the image for demonstration. Color points will be placed in the demo position.
File replay rangePlay image files by dragging and dropping them onto the screen. Playable extensions are "JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP".
MenuThis menu is related to heat area settings. You can check the contents by hovering the mouse cursor over them.
Color pointDisplays the color points added in the CH settings. You can move them by mouse dragging on the image.

Note When the Heat Area screen is displayed, the update interval for various devices is changed to 1 second.

Menu

CH settings and other settings can be made. Select "Close" [❌] to exit the image play.

CH settings

Sets the color points to be placed on the image.

UI elements: Number; additional CHs, Logger selection [?], CH Display Switch, CH name display, Min. setting, Middle setting, Max. setting, Min color, Max color, Text color, Color point size change, OK [✔️], Cancel [?].

Number; additional CHsDisplays the number; CHs to be placed. Up to 30 CHs can be placed.
CH Display SwitchSwitches the CH to display color points. All the settings can be changed by selecting "ALL".
CH name displayDisplays each CH.
Min. settingSets the minimum value for the color point. The closer to the minimum value, the more the background; the color point changes to the minimum color. All the settings can be changed by selecting "ALL".
Middle settingSets the midpoint value; the color point. The closer to the intermediate value, the color point background changes to transparent. All the settings can be changed by selecting "ALL".
Max. settingSets the maximum value; the color point. The closer to the maximum value, the more the background; the color point changes to the maximum color. All the settings can be changed by selecting "ALL".
Min colorSets the minimum color for the color points. All the settings can be changed by selecting "ALL".
Max colorSets the maximum color; the color points. All the settings can be changed by selecting "ALL".
Text colorSets the text color; the color point. All the settings can be changed by selecting "ALL".
Color point size changeChange the size; the color points. All the settings can be changed by selecting "ALL".
OKReflects the changes made.
CancelDiscard the changes made.
