Precautions for Microwave Energy
WARNING: To reduce the risk of burns, electric shock, fire, injury to persons, or exposure to excessive microwave energy:
- Do not operate the oven with the door open. Ensure safety interlocks are not defeated.
- Do not place objects between the oven front and door, or allow soil/cleaner residue on sealing surfaces.
- Do not operate a damaged oven, especially if the door, hinges, latches, or seals are damaged.
- Servicing should only be performed by qualified personnel.
Radio Interference
Operation may cause interference with radios, TVs, or similar equipment. To reduce interference:
- Clean door and sealing surfaces.
- Reorient radio/TV antennas.
- Relocate the microwave away from the receiver.
- Plug into a different outlet on a separate branch circuit.
Utensils
CAUTION: Personal Injury Hazard.
- Tightly-closed utensils can explode. Open containers and pierce plastic pouches before cooking.
- Consult the "Materials you can use..." section. If unsure about a utensil, test it: Place the utensil in a microwave-safe container with 1 cup of water. Heat on maximum power for 1 minute. If the utensil is warm, do not use it for microwave cooking. Do not exceed 1 minute cooking time for the test.

Troubleshooting Guide
Questions or for Service Call: 1-800-374-4432
Before calling for service, check these common issues:
- Microwave display or oven does not operate: Ensure plug is in a grounded outlet. Remove plug, wait 10 seconds, replug. Check circuit breaker. Try a different outlet.
- Oven display works, but oven does not operate: Ensure door is securely closed. Check door seal for obstructions. Check door for damage. Press STOP/CANCEL twice and re-enter instructions. Try a different outlet.
- Cannot open oven door: Confirm keypad lock is not active on STOP/CANCEL button. [Illustration of STOP/CANCEL button with "Hold 3s to lock keypad" text.]
- Power goes off before cook time elapses: If power interrupted, unplug, wait 10 seconds, replug. Reset clock/cooking. Check circuit breaker. Try a different outlet.
- Food is cooking too slowly: Ensure oven is on a dedicated 20 amp circuit. Operating other appliances on the same circuit can cause voltage drop.
- Sparks or arcing: Remove metallic utensils, cookware, or ties from the oven cavity.
- Turntable makes noises or sticks: Clean turntable, roller ring, and cavity bottom. Ensure turntable and roller ring are positioned correctly.
- Using microwave causes TV/radio interference: Move microwave further from other appliances.
Note: If set to cook for over 30 minutes at 100% power, the oven automatically adjusts to 80% power after 30 minutes to prevent overcooking.
Cleaning and Care
Cleaning Suggestions
Keep the oven clean inside and out for best performance and safety. Pay special attention to the inner door panel and frame.
- Never use rough scouring powder or pads. Wipe inside and out with a soft cloth and warm, mild detergent solution. Rinse and dry completely.
- Wipe splatters immediately with a wet paper towel, especially after cooking greasy foods.
- Keep the oven cavity clean. Food particles and spills can reduce efficiency.
- Wipe spills immediately with a damp, clean cloth and mild detergent. Do not use harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners.
- To loosen baked-on food: Heat 2 cups of water (add lemon juice for freshness) in a measuring glass on High power for 5 minutes or until boiling. Let stand in the oven cavity for 1-2 minutes.
- Remove the glass turntable tray for cleaning. Handle with care to prevent breakage. Wash with mild detergent.
- Clean the exterior with mild detergent and a damp cloth. Dry with a soft cloth. Prevent water from entering vents or openings.
- Wash the oven door window with very mild soap and water using a soft cloth to avoid scratching.
- If steam accumulates inside or outside the door, wipe with a soft cloth. This is normal in high humidity and does not indicate leakage.
- Never operate the oven without food in the cavity, as this can damage the magnetron tube or glass tray.
Service Call Check
Before calling for service, perform these checks:
- Place 1 cup of water in a glass measuring cup inside the oven. Close door securely. Operate at HIGH 100% for one minute.
- Does the oven light come on? (YES/NO)
- Does the cooling fan work? (YES/NO)
- Does the turntable rotate? (YES/NO)
- Is the water warm? (YES/NO)
If the answer to any question is "NO", check the electrical outlet, fuse, and/or circuit breaker. If they are functioning properly, CONTACT YOUR NEAREST ELECTROLUX AUTHORIZED SERVICER. A microwave oven should never be serviced by a "do-it-yourself" repair person.
