Microwave Energy Precautions

Precautions for Avoiding Possible Microwave Energy Exposure:

Do not operate the oven with the door open, as this can lead to harmful microwave energy exposure. Do not tamper with safety interlocks. Keep the oven door and sealing surfaces clean. Do not use the oven if it is damaged, especially the door, hinges, or seals. Only qualified personnel should service the oven.

FCC Compliance (USA Only): This appliance complies with Part 18 of the FCC Rules.

Radio Interference: Microwave operation may cause interference with radios, televisions, or similar equipment. If interference occurs, try repositioning the receiving antenna, moving the microwave away from the receiver, or plugging the microwave into a different outlet.

Utensils:

ATTENTION: Sealed containers can explode. Open them before heating. Refer to the manual for lists of usable and unusable materials. Test unknown utensils by heating a cup of water next to the utensil for 1 minute at high power; if the utensil is hot, do not use it.

Electrical Requirements: The product operates on 120V, 60Hz, AC, 20 Amperes. It requires a dedicated, separate circuit with appropriate voltage and frequency. Wiring must comply with national/local electrical codes. The power cord and plug must connect to a dedicated 20-amp grounded outlet. Installation by a qualified electrician is recommended.

General Safety Warnings:

  • Do not attempt to install or operate the appliance before reading the safety instructions.
  • Use common sense, prudence, and attention during installation, maintenance, or operation.
  • Do not use the appliance if the power cord or plug is damaged, or if it malfunctions or has been dropped/damaged.
  • Servicing should only be done by qualified personnel.
  • Do not cover or block any openings.
  • Do not store the appliance outdoors or near water.
  • Do not immerse the cord or plug in water.
  • Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
  • Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter.
  • Clean door seals with mild, non-abrasive soap and water.
  • To reduce fire risk: Do not overcook food. Supervise the appliance when combustible materials are inside. Remove wire ties from paper/plastic bags. If materials ignite, keep the door closed, turn off the oven, and unplug it. Do not use the cavity for storage.
  • Caution with Liquids: Liquids can overheat beyond boiling point without appearing to boil. This can cause sudden boiling when the container is disturbed. Stir liquids before and during heating. Avoid narrow-necked containers. Let containers stand briefly before removing. Be careful when inserting utensils.
  • Do not use metal utensils or oversized metal items, as they can cause fires or electric shock.
  • Do not clean with metal scouring pads.
  • Do not store materials other than manufacturer-recommended accessories.
  • Do not cover racks or parts with aluminum foil, as this can cause overheating.
  • Clean ventilation hoods frequently.
  • When flambéing food, turn on the fan.
  • Clean the hood filter carefully. Corrosive cleaners can damage filters.
  • Suitable for use above gas and electric cooking appliances.

Materials for Microwave Use:

Usable Materials Instructions
Browning Utensils Follow manufacturer's instructions. Bottom of utensil should be 3/16" above turntable.
Dinnerware Use microwave-safe materials. Avoid cracked or chipped dishes.
Glassware Remove lids. For slight reheating only. Some glass may break if not heat-resistant.
Glass Utensils Use heat-resistant utensils. Ensure no metal trim. Avoid cracked or chipped dishes.
Microwave Cooking Bags Follow manufacturer's instructions. Do not seal with metal. Pierce for steam.
Paper Plates/Cups For short-term cooking/reheating. Do not leave unattended.
Paper Towels Cover food for reheating, absorb grease. Use with supervision for short cooking.
Parchment Paper Cover food to prevent splatters or steam.
Plastic Use microwave-safe materials. Some plastics melt. "Boil-in-bag" and sealed plastic bags need venting.
Plastic Wrap Cover food to retain moisture. Do not let wrap touch food.
Thermometers Microwave-safe (meat/candy).
Wax Paper Maintain moisture.

Materials to Avoid:

  • Aluminum Trays: Can cause arcing.
  • Paper Food Containers with Metal Support: Can cause arcing.
  • Metal Utensils/Trim: Metal shields food from microwaves and can cause arcing.
  • Twist Ties: Can cause arcing and fire.
  • Paper Bags: Can cause fire.
  • Plastic Foam: Can melt or contaminate food at high temperatures.
  • Wood: Can dry out, split, or crack.

Grounding Instructions

WARNING: Improper grounding can cause electric shock. Ensure the appliance is properly grounded. If unsure, consult a qualified electrician. Use only a three-wire extension cord with a grounding plug and receptacle.

About Your Microwave Oven:

  • Always use the turntable and its support.
  • Always place food in the oven when operating to absorb microwave energy.
  • The oven exterior may become warm during cooking; this is normal.
  • Condensation is normal. Ensure ventilation openings are not blocked. The oven is for food preparation only.
  • Never use the oven to dry clothes or newspapers.

DANGER: Risk of electric shock. Do not disassemble.

Operation

Setting the Clock: Follow on-screen prompts. Press 'Clock' briefly to view time, or press and hold for 3 seconds to turn off the display.

Setting the Timer: Use the 'Timer' button and numeric keys.

Clock On/Off: Press and hold the 'Clock' button to turn the clock display on or off.

Cancel Button: Use to clear errors, cancel timers, or stop a program.

Control Lock: Press and hold 'Cancel' for over 3 seconds to activate/deactivate child lock (display shows LOCKED/UNLOCK).

One-Touch Start: Press numbered keys (1-9) for automatic cooking for 1 to 9 minutes.

Add 30 Sec: Press '+30 Sec' for quick 30-second cooking at 100% power. Can be used to extend cooking time.

Power Level Adjustment: Use 'Power Level' button and numeric keys to select power from 10% to 100%.

Timed Cooking with Power Levels: Select power level, then time. The oven offers 11 power levels.

Two-Stage Cooking: Program different power levels and times for a single cooking cycle.

Convection Cooking: Uses a fan to circulate hot air for even cooking and browning. Follow specific instructions for convection modes (Bake, Roast, Grill).

Tips for Convection Cooking:

  • Lower oven temperature by 25°F compared to recipe recommendations for packaged foods.
  • Preheat the oven when necessary.
  • Use oven-safe metal utensils for convection cooking only.
  • Use thick oven mitts when handling hot items.
  • Do not use lightweight plastic or plastic packaging during convection.

Grill/Convection Grill: Use for broiling and cooking pizzas.

Keep Warm: Maintains food temperature at 170°F.

Air Fry: Uses circulating hot air for crispy results. Best used with the air fry pan and tray. Cook on a single rack.

Popcorn: Use the dedicated button for pre-packaged microwave popcorn. Follow bag instructions.

Sensor Cook/Reheat: Automatically adjusts cooking time and power based on food's moisture content. Select food type, and the oven determines the cooking time.

Melt/Soften: Uses low power to melt or soften items like butter, chocolate, or ice cream.

Automatic Defrost: Three preset sequences (Meat, Poultry, Fish). Enter the weight of the food. The oven will prompt you to check, turn, or rearrange food.

User Preference Settings: Customize audio levels, weight units (lbs/kg), language (English/French), and demo mode.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Disconnect power before cleaning. Keep the door open to disable the oven during cleaning.

Exterior: Clean with mild soap and water; rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.

Door: Clean window on both sides with a soft cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners.

Stainless Steel: Clean with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth. Rinse and dry. Avoid cleaners with abrasives, chlorides, or ammonia. A 50/50 water and vinegar solution is recommended.

Interior: Wipe with a soft cloth and warm water. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. For tougher stains, use baking soda or mild soap, rinse thoroughly.

Waveguide Cover: Located on the ceiling of the oven cavity. Clean gently with a damp cloth. Food splatters can overheat and cause smoke or fire. Do not remove the cover.

Odor Elimination: Mix 1 cup water, lemon zest/juice, and whole cloves. Boil for several minutes at 100% power. Let cool, then wipe interior.

Turntable: Metal and ceramic turntables are removable and dishwasher safe (top rack). Dry immediately.

Touch Control Panel: Clean carefully with a slightly damp cloth. Do not rub or use chemical cleaners.

Your appliance is covered by a one-year limited warranty from the date of original purchase for defects in materials or workmanship, provided it is installed and used according to instructions.

Exclusions: The warranty does not cover removed serial numbers, products transferred or used outside the US/Canada, rust, 'as-is' purchases, food loss, commercial use, service calls for installation/usage guidance, cosmetic parts, consumables (bulbs, filters), additional service charges (after-hours, holidays), damage to the appliance or home during installation, unauthorized service, or external causes like misuse, accidents, or acts of God.
