1. Electrical Requirements
Each appliance needs the proper voltage and frequency, connected to an individual, properly grounded branch circuit protected by a circuit breaker or fuse. Refer to the serial plate for wattage consumption and use Table A for circuit breaker/fuse amperage. Observe all codes and ordinances.
1.A Power Supply: A 3-wire or 4-wire single phase 120/240 or 120/208 Volt, 60 Hz AC electrical supply is required on a separate circuit fused on both sides (red and black wires). A time-delay fuse or circuit breaker is recommended. Do not fuse the neutral (white) wire. Check compatibility with specific cooktop models.

Note: Wire sizes and connections must conform to the fuse size and rating, and comply with the National Electrical Code (ANSI/NFPA No. 70) or Canadian Electrical Code (CSA C22.1), and local codes.
WARNING: An extension cord should not be used. It may cause fire, electrical shock, or injury. A 10' (3 m) power cord kit (#903056-9010) is available.
2. Connection: Connect to the fused disconnect (or circuit breaker) box using flexible armored or nonmetallic sheathed cable. Connect the appliance cable directly to the junction box, located as shown in Figure 1. Ensure sufficient slack for servicing.
3. Strain Relief: A suitable strain relief must be provided for the flexible armored cable.
Electrical Connection Details
WARNING: Electrical Ground is required. Do not connect to supply until permanently grounded. Disconnect power before making connections. Connect to a grounded metallic system or grounding connector. Do not use a gas supply line for grounding.
CAUTION: In cold weather, allow the oven to reach room temperature (at least 3 hours) before switching on power to prevent control damage.
2. Electrical Connection: The consumer must ensure the electrical installation is adequate and conforms to codes. This appliance uses copper lead wire. If connecting to aluminum house wiring, use only approved connectors for copper/aluminum. Do not overtighten conduit screws or excessively bend conduit.
Grounding: Do not ground to a gas supply pipe. Connect the ground wire before turning on power.
WARNING: If equipped with a white neutral conductor, the frame is grounded by connecting the grounding lead to the neutral lead at the conduit termination (USA, 1996 NEC, mobile homes, RVs, or where local codes permit). In Canada, disconnect white and green leads and use the ground lead. Connect neutral lead to branch circuit neutral conductor. See Figure 5 for 3-wire connection.
Note to Electrician: UL-recognized armored cable leads are rated for higher temperatures than household wiring. Conductor capacity is governed by insulation temperature rating.
