Getting Started
PC Setup
Connect the wireless USB transmitter to any working USB port on your PC. The headset operates up to 18m (60ft) from the transmitter, but wireless range can be reduced by other wireless devices, electronics, or obstructions like walls. For the highest quality audio reproduction on PC (up to 24bit/96kHz), use a wired USB connection. To use the headset in USB mode, power it off first, then connect it to your PC using the included USB cable.
Important: Upon first use on a PC, the operating system will automatically install device drivers. Reboot your PC after the driver loads before using the headset. Prolonged listening at high volumes may adversely affect hearing. Take breaks and start with the volume at the lowest level.
PlayStation Setup
Connect the wireless USB transmitter to any USB port on your PS4 or PS5 console. In the PlayStation UI, set "Output to Headphones" to "All Audio". Adjust the headset volume control to maximum, then use the headset's volume control to manage overall volume.
iCUE Software
Download the iCUE software from corsair.com/support/downloads. iCUE enables the full feature set of your headset. Some features are disabled if the headset is used without software.
- Install iCUE on a PC running Windows 10 or later.
- Reboot your PC after installation and launch iCUE.
iCUE software can be used to:
- Choose RGB color preference and light intensity.
- Select and customize audio equalizer (EQ) settings.
- Adjust microphone input volume and microphone sidetone.
- Update product firmware. (Note: Headset must be in USB mode, powered off and connected to PC, to update firmware.)
The software's documentation provides more detailed instructions on using headset features.
Audio Settings
A short press (0.1-0.5 seconds) on the Volume Control wheel toggles EQ.
Microphone Control
Flip the microphone up to mute. Flip it down to unmute. iCUE software can also control these functions.
Charging
The Corsair HS80 RGB WIRELESS Headset must be fully charged before first use.
- Connect the USB charging cable to a working USB port on your PC.
- Connect the USB charging cable to the Corsair HS80 RGB WIRELESS Headset.
The headset battery has no "memory effect," so it does not need to be fully discharged before recharging. The USB charging cable requires a high-power (USB 2.0 or better) port; some older USB ports may not support USB 2.0.
LED Status Indicators
Headset Battery Status
Status | Color |
---|---|
Low Battery | Red |
Medium Battery | Orange |
High Battery | Green |
The LED will pulse while charging and turn solid green when fully charged. When not charging, the LED blinks based on the power levels shown above.
Wireless Transmitter Status
- Solid white: Transmitter connected to headset and operating normally.
- Rapidly blinking red: Transmitter cannot connect to the headset. If both are powered on and the LED is still blinking red, use iCUE software to re-pair the transmitter and headset.
For Optimal Wireless Performance
- Place the wireless USB transmitter in an open, unobstructed area.
- Ensure the battery is fully charged before initial use.
- Avoid leaving the battery fully discharged for long periods; keeping it partially charged maximizes battery life.
- Disable RGB lighting effects via iCUE if they are not important to you, to extend battery life.
- Remove the USB charging cable promptly after the headset is fully charged.
- Keep the headset at room temperature (20-30°C or 68-86°F).
