Somfy SDN 0-10V Interface V2

Programming Guide Version 2.2 | August 2025

Overview

The Somfy SDN 0-10V Interface V2 translates the standard 0-10V analog dimming signal from lighting control systems into Somfy Digital Network™ (SDN) or animeo® IP commands. This interface allows for motor control in 10% increments (0%-100%) based on the received 0-10V input.

System Requirements

Utilizes Somfy Configuration Software (Set pro) and animeo IP Visual Configuration Software for setup. Requires a fully commissioned standalone SDN or animeo IP project.

Connections & Indicators

Features include a DIP Switch Bank for mode selection and group address assignment, a Push Button for sequencing and discovery, an SDN Output for bus power and communication, a Main Power LED, and a Bus Activity LED.

Installation

The interface is housed in a plenum-rated enclosure suitable for junction box mounting. It is powered by line voltage and connects to the 0-10V input signal via flying leads. The SDN bus connection is made through an RJ45 port using CAT-5e or higher cabling. Installation requires a qualified electrician.

Setup Modes

The device supports two primary modes:

  • Somfy Digital Network™ (SDN) Mode: Configurable for 'Motor All' (broadcast address FFFFFF) or 'Group Specific' communication. Supports 'Percent Position' (0%-100%) and 'Intermediate Position' (IP1-IP11) control based on 0-10V input.
  • Animeo® IP Mode: Integrates with animeo IP systems, configured as a 6-Button Non-Eco Mode keypad. Translates 0-10V input into specific motor positions (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%).

DIP Switch Configuration

DIP switches are located behind an access door. Bank A controls functions (Percent Position vs. Intermediate Position, SDN Mode vs. animeo IP Mode, Standard vs. Reverse Operation). Bank B is used for setting specific SDN group addresses, with 62 available hexadecimal addresses.

Input Levels & SDN Output

The interface processes analog voltage inputs from 0-10V, optimizing for discrete voltage levels to ensure stable motor positioning. It is compatible with Encelium input levels and standard analog voltages ranging from 0.75V to 9.1V.
