ASSEMBLY
ASSEMBLE MULTIPLE BUTTON SWITCHES
- Begin with a standard (assembled) 1 or 5 control button DecoFlex switch. Using a small flat blade screwdriver, carefully separate the SWITCH BASE ASSEMBLY from the FACEPLATE (as shown in Figure 1).
- Add or remove CONTROL BUTTONS (as required) from the SWITCH BASE ASSEMBLY (as shown in Figure 2). Ensure the SWITCH BASE ASSEMBLY remains intact.
- Attach a new multiple button face plate (as shown in Figures 3 & 4).
5 Channel DecoFlex Wall Switch (Exploded view): This diagram shows the components of a 5-channel switch. It includes Removable Channel Buttons, the Switch Base Assembly, an 8 Button Faceplate, and a Wall Plate.

REPLACE STANDARD CONTROL BUTTONS
- Using a small flat blade screwdriver, carefully separate the SWITCH BASE ASSEMBLY from the FACEPLATE (as shown in Figure 1).
- Replace standard (blank) or temporarily labeled CONTROL BUTTON(s) with new engraved CONTROL BUTTON(s).
- Attach new CONTROL BUTTON FACE PLATE (as shown in Figures 3 & 4).

RTS Battery Replacement: (RTS only)
The DecoFlex WireFree™ RTS switch is designed for maintenance-free performance. If the battery becomes discharged, the LED indicator lights will no longer function, and radio signals may be reduced or lost. The battery can be easily replaced by accessing the SWITCH BASE ASSEMBLY board. Slide the old 3V Lithium battery (type 2450) out of its holder and replace it with a new one, ensuring correct polarity. Batteries should be disposed of properly according to local regulations.
KEYPAD PROGRAMMING
Download and install Programming Guides and Software from the SomfyPro website: https://www.somfypro.com/services-support
- RTS: Follow the RTS Pocket Programming Guide to set up DecoFlex RTS keypads.
- Dry Contact: Arrange the switch for control within the IGC 4n1 Motor Controller. Note: Before installing keypads, all motors must be wired to the controller, have limits set, and be working properly.
- SDN: DecoFlex Digital Keypads for SDN have programmable buttons. Configure them to control any motor or group using the SDN Keypad Programming Guide and SDN Keypad Configuration Software. Settings can be exported to a file for backup.
- animeo® IP: Keypads are configured within the animeo® IP commissioning software after installation on the SDN bus, using the animeo® IP Visual Configuration software.
INSTALLATION
A special SOMFY low voltage device mounting bracket is included, which attaches to drywall and eliminates the need for an electrical box. The bracket supports two mounting configurations:
- Adjacent Switch Mounting: The bracket is designed for mounting DecoFlex wall switches to adjacent (pre-existing) Decora-style light switches. This allows for two adjacent switches and a new "Double Gang" (2 Gang) wall plate for a professional installation. Note: This bracket is not designed for use with "old-work" or retrofit electrical boxes. Check local codes regarding electrical box requirements. For optimal radio performance, Somfy recommends non-metallic electrical enclosures.
- Individual/Stand-alone Mounting: The bracket can also be used for single switch installations.
Tools required for installation:
Screw drivers (Phillips and bladed), dry-wall saw, wall stud sensor, non-marring tape, and pencil.
- Locate an existing light switch and remove the wall plate, exposing the electrical box. Somfy recommends shutting off power to the exposed electrical box prior to installation. Note: If not installing the keypad with an existing switch, skip to step 2.
- Using a stud sensor, locate the stud nearest to the exposed electrical box. Mark the location with removable tape or pencil for reference.
- Place the flat side of the mounting bracket (included) against the wall, aligning the thin side over the outside edge of the existing electrical box (opposite the stud side). Center the bracket to align the mounting screw height with the existing switch. Trace the inside shape of the bracket onto the wall using a pencil or thin marker.
- Using a dry-wall saw (or similar tool), begin cutting the drywall along the traced outline. Do not cut the hole larger than the outline, as this may result in a loose-fitting bracket. Refer to the recommended hole dimensions for accuracy.
- Insert the bracket into the cut hole, keeping the thin side closest to the edge of the existing switch box.
- Carefully bend the bracket tabs 90 degrees behind the drywall to ensure a tight, secure fit.
- Position the DecoFlex switch into the mounting bracket, aligning the screw holes. Secure the switch to the mounting bracket using the provided screws.
- Attach a new (2-gang) or double-gang Decora-style wall plate over both switches to complete the installation.
Hole dimensions for mounting bracket (Step 4): 1 5/8" W x 3 7/16" L
OPERATION
- Select the CONTROL BUTTON(s) programmed to a specific window covering. The adjacent LEDs will illuminate to indicate the selected button.
- To raise the window covering(s), press the UP button.
- To lower the window covering(s), press the DOWN button.
- To stop the window covering(s) at any time, press the STOP button (see Figure 2).
- For RTS and SDN Keypads programmed for group function, select a control button followed by an action (default: Up, Stop, and Down).
For detailed product operation information, refer to the product programming instructions.
Note: Keypads require programming in order to operate as intended.
