Smart Phone & Tablet Requirements
The SmartThings app is compatible with:
- iOS 11.0+
- Android 7.0+
Connections & Indicators
The Somfy TaHoma® Smartphone and Tablet Interface offers a unified platform for Somfy RTS and future ecosystems, supporting a wide range of interior and exterior applications.
- Supports up to 40 RTS channels.
- Can install up to 10 interfaces as zone controllers to extend RTS range.
- Supports a maximum of 40 scenes with schedules per install.
Each TaHoma Interface connects via Wi-Fi or directly to the local area network using an optional Ethernet Adaptor for IP Integration with third-party control systems. TaHoma® is compatible with the Somfy Synergy™ API.

TaHoma Interface Connections:
Rear View:
- Configuration Button: Press to enter Wi-Fi Mode for setup.
- Micro USB Port: Connect power or Ethernet Adaptor.
- Ethernet Port: Connect to network router or switch for wired connection.
Front View:
- TaHoma® Ethernet Adaptor (#1870470, Sold Separately): Connect for a wired local area network connection.
- Micro USB Port: Connect power through Ethernet Adaptor.
- Micro USB: Connect to TaHoma interface for power and Ethernet.
LED Behavior:
- BLUE: Directly connected via Wi-Fi Mode.
- RED: Powered, but not connected to cloud server.
- ORANGE: Starting up.
- GREEN: Connected to network.
System Configuration
A fully operational TaHoma system is required before SmartThings programming.
- TaHoma Interface supports up to 40 channels of RTS.
- RTS devices programmed to an RTS channel receive commands only from that associated TaHoma Interface.
- Interfaces must be placed within 25-35 feet of the RTS devices they control.
- Confirm with your Shade Commissioning Agent that the TaHoma Interface firmware is up to date.
- A Samsung SmartThings account is required per TaHoma system or project.
- Ensure a SmartThings enabled hub is powered on and connected to a network with internet.
Link TaHoma to SmartThings
To enable scene and automation control from the SmartThings app, follow these steps. Ensure the correct account is enabled in the SmartThings App before linking TaHoma.
Steps:
1. Initiate Device Addition:
From the Favorites Screen, select the '+' icon, then select 'Device'.
2. Search for Somfy:
Select the magnifying glass icon to search for "Somfy" or scroll to find Somfy.
3. Select Device Type:
Select "Somfy," then select "Window Treatment."
4. Select Integration Method:
Select "Somfy without SmartThings Hub."
5. Assign Location and Room:
Select a Location and Room for the Somfy device. You can add Somfy to any room or the room where the TaHoma Interface is installed. Discovered devices can be moved later. Example: "Bedroom 1".
6. Enter TaHoma Credentials:
Enter the TaHoma Login credentials used during TaHoma Programming. Select "LOG IN."
7. Authorize SmartThings Access:
Select "YES" to authorize SmartThings access to your Somfy account.
Confirmation:
The display will show "Connection between SmartThings and TaHoma North America is successful."
8. Finalize Setup:
Select "X" to finish the setup, then select "Done."
TaHoma has now been linked to SmartThings. All paired devices in TaHoma will appear in the initially selected room. To unlink, refer to the "Unlink TaHoma from SmartThings" section.
Edit TaHoma Devices
To make changes to linked devices, follow these steps:

1. Select Device and Options:
Select the device to edit, then select the Options icon (⋮) from the top right corner.
2. Edit Options:
Select "Edit" to:
- Change the device name.
- Change the device's location or room.
- Set as favorite.
- Add the device to the Home screen.
- Delete the device.
A portal to Linked Services is available under each device's edit menu for disconnecting from TaHoma.
3. Save Changes:
Select "Save."
Control TaHoma Devices
To command RTS shades to Open or Close, follow these steps:
Steps:
1. Select Device:
From the Devices screen, select a Room, then select a Device. Example: Room: Bedroom 2, Device: Bedroom blackouts.
2. Select Command:
Select a command to Open or Close the blind.
Note: SmartThings does not record the last commands sent for Somfy RTS motors.
This integration does not support a "Stop" command. If an RTS blind has a "MY" position programmed, it can be triggered in a SmartThings Scene and/or Automation by selecting "Pause." A Pause command equates to the MY Position.
Create Scenes
Scenes allow multiple devices to be controlled with various actions, triggered by a single tap. TaHoma supports up to 40 Scenes with schedules.
Steps:
1. Initiate Scene Creation:
From the Favorites screen, select the '+' icon, then select "Scene."
2. Name and Add Actions:
Enter a name for the Scene. Select '+' under Actions. Optionally, select "Change icon" to customize the scene's icon.
3. Select Devices and Commands:
Select "Control Devices," then select the desired device (e.g., Bedroom blackouts). Select "Next."
4. Define Action:
Select "Curtain," then select a Command:
- Open/Up
- Close/Down
- Pause/Stop (for MY position)
5. Test and Save:
Select "Run" to test the Scene. Optionally, set it as a favorite. Select "Save."
The Scene has been created. To add a Scene to an Automation, refer to the "Create Automations" section.
Create Automations
Automations trigger based on conditions like specific times, days of the week, or activation of other devices (e.g., motion or presence detection).
Steps:
1. Initiate Automation Creation:
From the Automation Screen, select the '+' icon, then select "Add Automations."
2. Define Trigger Conditions ("If"):
Under "If," select '+' to choose conditions that start the Automation. Multiple conditions can be added, such as:
- Specific time and day.
- Period of time (start and end time).
- Any time (once per day).
- Sunrise or Sunset.
Select "Save" after defining conditions.
3. Define Actions ("Then"):
Under "Then," select '+' to choose what happens when conditions are met.
4. Select Device and Command:
Select "Control devices," then select the device and set the command. Example: Bedroom blackouts (Close).
5. Name and Save Automation:
Name the Automation, then select "OK."
Automations can be enabled or disabled using the toggle button next to them. An Automation has been created.
Delete Scenes or Automations
If a Scene or Automation is no longer needed, follow these steps.
Delete a Scene:
1. Navigate to Automations Screen:
From the Automation Screen, select the Options icon (⋮) from the top right corner.
2. Select Delete Option:
Select "Delete."
3. Select Scene to Delete:
Select the '-' icon next to the scene to be deleted.
4. Confirm Deletion:
Select "Delete."
Delete an Automation:
1. Navigate to Automations Screen:
From the Automation Screen, select the Options icon (⋮) from the top right corner.
2. Select Delete Option:
Select "Delete."
3. Select Automation to Delete:
Select the '-' icon next to the automation to be deleted.
4. Confirm Deletion:
Select "Delete."
The Scene or Automation has been deleted.
Unlink TaHoma from SmartThings
If SmartThings Integration is no longer required, follow these steps. Unlinking TaHoma from SmartThings will remove all associated devices, including those part of Scenes or Automations. If relinking, devices will need to be re-added.
Steps:
1. Access Menu:
Select the Menu button (☰) from the bottom right corner.
2. Access Settings:
Select the gear icon (⚙️) from the top right corner.
3. Select Linked Services:
Select "Linked services."
4. Select TaHoma North America:
Select "TaHoma North America."
5. Delete Device:
Select "Delete Device."
6. Confirm Unlink:
Select "Delete" to confirm.
TaHoma North America has been unlinked.
Appendix A: Available Actions
TaHoma RTS Blind Actions:
Action | Description |

Open/Raise | Moves blind to the fully open position. |
Close/Lower | Moves blind to the fully closed position. |
Pause | Moves blind to the MY position if programmed (Only triggered by a Scene or Automation). |
