Important Information
Some slots in the ZWILLING Self-Sharpening Block feature integrated ceramic sharpening rods. These are designed exclusively for knives with a fine cutting edge, such as paring knives, carving knives, and chef's knives.
Knives with a serrated edge (e.g., bread knives, utility knives) must be placed in slots without a sharpening function. These knives require sharpening by a specialized service.
Always insert knives into their designated slots to prevent damage to the knife's cutting edge and the ceramic sharpening rods. Each compartment is marked with a corresponding blade symbol for clarity.
The ceramic sharpening rods are precisely positioned to sharpen various knives at an ideal angle when they are inserted or removed.
Please note: The ZWILLING Self-Sharpening Block is intended to maintain the sharpness of your knives. It is not designed for sharpening blunt or dull knives.

How to Use
Note: Figures show knife storage examples. The range of knives can vary depending on availability per country.
Sharpening Fine-Edged Knives
Guide the knife slowly along the ceramic sharpening rods out of the slot, applying slight pressure and following the blade contour to the tip of the knife.

When inserting the knife back into the slot, repeat the same movement starting at the tip of the knife.

Storing Serrated Knives
Insert serrated knives into the correct slots of the knife block by slowly sliding the back (spine) of the knife along the top of the slot until the handle is flush with the surface of the block.

This method provides the best possible protection for the sharp cutting edge of the knife.
Cleaning
Clean the knife block only with a soft cloth moistened with water. Do not allow cleaning agents or other cleaning utensils to enter the slots. Clean only the surface of the block.
