1. Registering the Switch

Product registration is required for warranty activation and support. For details, please refer to netgear.com/jp/about/warranty/.

1. Access my.netgear.com from a PC or mobile device connected to the internet.
2. Log in to your NETGEAR account.
   Note: If you do not have a NETGEAR account (free), you can create one.
3. The "Registered Products" page will be displayed.
4. Click the "Register New Product" button.
5. Enter the switch's serial number in the "Serial Number" field. The serial number is 13 digits long and is printed on the switch's label.
6. Select the purchase date of the switch from the "Purchase Date" menu.
7. Click the "Register" button.

The switch will be registered to your NETGEAR account. A confirmation email will be sent to your NETGEAR account email address.

2. Connecting the Switch

GS108MX Configuration Example

Note: For 10 Gigabit connections, Category 6a (Cat6a) or higher category cables are recommended. For other Gigabit connections, Category 5e (Cat5e) cables or higher are recommended.

3. Checking the LEDs

Connect the power cord to the switch and plug it into an outlet. The status indicated by each LED is shown in the table below.

Warning: This switch is for indoor use only. If connecting to outdoor devices, outdoor devices must be properly grounded and surge protected. Ethernet surge protection devices must be installed on the wiring between the switch and outdoor devices. Failure to do so may result in damage to the switch.

Wall Mounting Method

Use the included wall-mounting kit.

1. Locate the two mounting holes on the bottom of the switch.
2. On the wall where you plan to install the switch, drill two holes that align with the mounting holes. The distance between the centers of the two mounting holes should be [distance specified in mm].
3. Insert the included anchors into the wall and secure the screws with a Phillips head screwdriver. Ensure that each screw protrudes from the wall by approximately 4mm so that the screw heads can be inserted into the holes on the bottom of the switch.

Note: Screws should be 3mm in diameter and 20mm in length.

GS108X Compatible Modules

Note: The GS108X SFP+ port supports 10G only with fiber optic modules. 10G copper modules are not supported, and traffic will not pass through 10G copper modules. However, 1G copper modules are supported.
