Unboxing and Initial Setup
This guide provides instructions for setting up your LG UP77 series television. Ensure all components are present before beginning assembly.
- Carefully open the television packaging. It is recommended that two people handle the TV during unboxing and assembly due to its size and weight.
- Remove the television and all accessories from the box.
Important Safety Information: Do not block ventilation openings. Do not use non-standard wall mounts or accessories not approved by LG. Ensure proper handling to prevent damage or injury.
Stand Assembly
Follow these steps to attach the stand to your LG UP77 series TV:
- Place the television screen-down on a soft, flat surface to prevent scratches.
- Align the stand components with the designated slots on the back of the TV.
- Secure the stand using the provided M5 x L30 screws (6 pieces). Ensure the stand is firmly attached.
Model-Specific Stand Assembly
The stand assembly may vary slightly depending on your specific UP77 model:
- For 70UP77* models (4-A): Attach the stand base and then secure the upright support.
- For 75UP77* models (4-B): Attach the two separate stand legs to the bottom of the TV.
Cable Management
Proper cable management helps maintain a tidy setup and prevents damage to cables.
- After connecting all necessary cables, use the provided cable management clips or ties to route the cables neatly along the back of the TV stand.
- Ensure cables are not excessively bent or strained.
Connecting External Devices
Your LG UP77 series TV offers various ports for connecting external devices:
- OPTICAL DIGITAL AUDIO OUT: For connecting to soundbars or home theater systems.
- AUDIO OUT/H/P OUT: For connecting headphones or external audio devices.
- LAN: For wired internet connection.
- ANTENNA/CABLE IN: For connecting an antenna or cable TV signal.
- Satellite IN: For connecting a satellite dish.
- HDMI IN (eARC/ARC): Multiple HDMI ports for connecting devices like Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, or set-top boxes. The eARC/ARC port supports enhanced audio return channel functionality.
- COMMON INTERFACE: For inserting a CI module (e.g., for pay TV services).
- USB IN: For connecting USB storage devices to play media files.
- AV IN: For connecting older devices using composite video and stereo audio cables.
Note: An Analog Gender adapter may be required for some AV connections and can be purchased separately from LG Customer Service.
