LG UP77* Series 4K UHD Smart TV Installation Guide
⚠ Important Safety Information: Always read the safety and reference document before use. Do not block ventilation openings. Do not place the TV on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table. Do not expose the TV to water, direct sunlight, or heat sources. Do not use in high humidity environments.
Unpacking and Included Accessories
Carefully remove the TV from its packaging. The package includes:
- Remote Control
- Batteries (AA)
- Screws (M5 x L30, 6 pieces)
- Cable Management Clips
Stand Assembly
- Step 1: Prepare the TV
Place the TV screen face down on a soft, flat surface (e.g., a blanket or foam packaging) to prevent damage.
- Step 2: Attach the Stand Base
For 70UP77* models: Align the stand components with the designated slots on the TV. Secure them with the provided screws.
For 75UP77* models: Attach the two stand legs to the bottom of the TV, ensuring they click into place or are secured with screws as indicated.
- Step 3: Stand the TV Upright
With assistance, carefully lift the TV to an upright position and place it on a stable, level surface.
Wall Mounting (Optional)
If you intend to wall mount your TV, the stand assembly steps can be skipped. Ensure you use a compatible VESA wall mount bracket (sold separately) and follow its instructions.
- Step 4-A: Wall Mounting for 70UP77*
Remove any pre-attached stand components. Attach the wall mount brackets to the rear of the TV using appropriate screws, ensuring they are securely fastened.
- Step 4-B: Wall Mounting for 75UP77*
Remove any pre-attached stand components. Attach the wall mount brackets to the rear of the TV using appropriate screws, ensuring they are securely fastened.
Cable Management
- Step 5-A: Cable Management for 70UP77*
Route cables through the designated cable management clips or channels on the back of the TV stand or the TV itself to keep them tidy and secure.
- Step 5-B: Cable Management for 75UP77*
Route cables through the designated cable management clips or channels on the back of the TV stand or the TV itself to keep them tidy and secure.
Connecting External Devices
Rear Panel Connections
- OPTICAL DIGITAL AUDIO OUT: For connecting to a soundbar or audio receiver.
- ANTENNA/CABLE IN: For connecting an antenna or cable TV.
- AUDIO OUT/H/P OUT: For connecting headphones or external audio devices.
- SATELLITE IN: For connecting a satellite dish.
- LAN: For wired network connection.
- HDMI IN (eARC/ARC): For connecting HDMI devices, with eARC/ARC support for audio return channel.
- COMMON INTERFACE: For CI module insertion.
- USB IN: For connecting USB storage devices.
- AV IN: For connecting older analog devices (an Analog Gender adapter may be required and can be purchased separately at Customer Service).

Remote Control and Initial Setup
To pair the remote control, point it towards the TV and press the power button for approximately 5 seconds until pairing is complete. Follow the on-screen instructions for initial setup.
