Hozelock AC Plus Water Timer
General Information
This product meets the requirements of Pollution Degree 4 and can be used in exposed weather conditions. It is not suitable for supplying drinking water. Threaded water connections are for hand tightening only. This product should only be fitted to a mains water supply. Follow these instructions for simple and efficient watering.
Installing the Batteries
Use only Alkaline batteries; other types will result in incorrect operation.
- Remove screws and back cover.
- Insert two 1.5V 'C' Alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -). IMPORTANT: Rechargeable batteries must not be used.
- Replace batteries each season (maximum 12 months use).
Maintaining the Waterproof Seal
- Ensure the rubber seal is positioned correctly.
- Replace the back cover and screw down tightly.
- Repeat this each time the back cover is removed.
Programming the Timer
There are two watering operations: Automatic and Manual.
Automatic Operation
- Set the current time: Turn the dial to the nearest hour on the Red scale (24-hour clock) and press the button. An audible beep confirms correct setting.
- Set the watering start time: Turn the dial to the nearest hour for your desired start time on the Red scale (24-hour clock) and press the S button. An audible beep confirms correct setting.
- Set the watering frequency: This can be set in hours (every 6, 8, 12, or 24 hours) or in days (every 2, 3, or 7 days). Turn the dial to the desired setting on the Green scale and press the Green button. An audible beep confirms correct setting.
- Set the watering duration: Turn the dial to the number of watering minutes required on the Blue scale and press the Blue button. An audible beep confirms correct setting.
- Turn the dial to AUTO to start the selected programme.
Automatic OFF
Turn the dial to ON or OFF. To return to Automatic watering, re-select AUTO.
Changing Settings
To change the current time, start time, watering frequency, or duration, turn the dial to the desired setting and press the relevant button as instructed above. Note: You do not need to reset all settings.
Manual Operation
Manual ON
Turn the dial anti-clockwise to ON. Water will flow for a maximum of 60 minutes or until turned to OFF. Note: After 60 minutes, water shuts off. The knob will still point to ON and needs to be manually set to OFF or to the desired number of automatic watering minutes.
Manual OFF
Turn the dial clockwise to OFF. Note: Operation is only audible when the valve opens and closes. To check that the timer is working, switch to manual ON or OFF to hear the valve operate.
Connecting the Timer to the Tap
Use supplied adaptors if required.
Problem Solving
PROBLEM | SOLUTION |

Valve opens and closes when batteries are first inserted, but then fails to operate when dial is at ON or OFF. | Your AC+ has detected poor batteries. Replace with new ALKALINE batteries. |
Valve works but no water flows. | Check tap is turned on. Set Auto Start time. |
Valve works on manual but no automatic watering. | Manual ON 60 minutes is finished. Switch off or turn to desired automatic watering time. |
Knob points to ON but no watering. | 60 minutes of manual watering has ended. Switch off or select the desired automatic watering time. |
