Hozelock AC1 Automatic Watering Timer

General Information

The Hozelock AC1 watering timer meets Pollution Degree 4 requirements, allowing its use in exposed weather conditions. It is not suitable for supplying drinking water. Threaded water connections should only be hand-tightened. This product must be fitted to a mains water supply. Follow these instructions to maximize the timer's efficiency for simple and effective watering.

Installing the Batteries

Only Alkaline batteries must be used; alternatives will result in incorrect operation. Rechargeable batteries are not suitable.

  1. Remove screws and the back cover.
  2. Insert two 1.5V 'C' Alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
  3. Replace batteries each season (maximum 12 months of use).

Maintaining the Waterproof Seal

  1. Ensure the rubber seal is positioned correctly.
  2. Replace the back cover and screw down tightly.
  3. Repeat this process every time the back cover is removed.

How to Programme the Timer

The AC1 offers two watering operations: Automatic and Manual.

Automatic Operation

Automatic ON

To set the automatic start time:

  1. Turn the dial clockwise to 'AUTO START' at the desired start time (e.g., to start watering daily at 15:00, set the AC1 at 15:00). The timer will memorize this auto start time until reset and will operate daily at this time. Using manual ON or OFF does not cancel this memory.
  2. Turn the dial anti-clockwise to select:
    • A chosen duration for once-a-day operation, or
    • A chosen program for all other watering frequencies (refer to the program table below). The timer will automatically run the selected program repeatedly until a new option is chosen.

Automatic OFF

Turn the dial to 'Manual ON' or 'OFF'. To return to automatic watering, re-select the desired watering program. The auto start time remains memorized until a new one is selected.

Changing Start Time

Turn the dial clockwise to 'AUTO START' at the new desired start time.

Changing Watering Programme

Turn the dial to the new program. Do not turn the dial to 'AUTO START' unless a new start time is desired.

Manual Operation

Manual ON

Turn the dial anti-clockwise to 'ON'. Water will flow for a maximum of 60 minutes or until the dial is turned to 'OFF'. After 60 minutes, water shuts off. The knob will still point to 'ON' and needs to be manually set to 'OFF' or to the desired number of automatic watering minutes.

Manual OFF

Turn the dial clockwise to 'OFF'. Operation is only audible when the valve opens and closes. To check if the timer is working, switch to manual ON or OFF to hear the valve operate.

Connecting the Timer to the Tap

Use supplied adaptors if required. Tighten to ensure no leaks.

Problem Solving

Frost Protection Warning ⚠❄️

Protect the watering timer from frost. Remove it from the tap in winter. The product is not guaranteed against frost damage. Remove batteries when not in use.
