Assembly Steps

Step 1: Assemble the Chair Base

Connect the five leg pieces to the central hub to form the star-shaped base.

Step 2: Attach Gas Lift Cylinder to Base

Insert the gas lift cylinder into the center of the assembled base. Secure it using 10x screws (Part #122898, #149697) and 10x washers (Part #100842), using the provided tool (Part #124345).

Step 3: Install Caster Wheels

Insert the 5 caster wheels (Part #10049053, #10049052, #10090607, #10107640, #10049027) into the ends of the chair base legs. Push firmly until they click into place.

Step 4: Attach Seat Plate Mechanism

Place the seat plate mechanism onto the top of the gas lift cylinder.

Step 5: Secure Seat Plate Mechanism

Use the provided tool (Part #124345) to attach the seat plate mechanism to the gas lift cylinder using 4x screws (Part #122900, #159026).

Step 6: Attach the Seat

Align the seat with the seat plate mechanism and attach it, ensuring the gas lift cylinder is properly seated within the seat assembly.

ℹ️ Safety Note: Components with energy accumulators (like the gas lift) should only be replaced or repaired by trained personnel.

Step 7: Attach Backrest Support

Attach the backrest support to the underside of the seat mechanism using 3x screws (Part #158834, #158835) and the provided tool (Part #100092).

Step 8: Attach the Backrest

Align the backrest with the backrest support and attach it.

Step 9: Secure the Backrest

Secure the backrest to the support using 1x screw (Part #152546, #152545) and the provided tool (Part #124345).

Step 10: Final Tightening

Ensure all screws are securely tightened using the provided tools.

Step 11: Adjust Seat Height

Operate the lever located under the seat to adjust the chair's height.

The IKEA BLECKBERGET swivel chair is equipped with safety castors. These castors automatically brake when no one is sitting in the chair. This feature prevents the chair from rolling away when you stand up, ensuring it remains in place and is always found where you left it.
