ALEFJÄLL Office Chair Assembly Instructions
This document provides step-by-step instructions for assembling the ALEFJÄLL office chair by IKEA. Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure proper assembly and safe use of the product.

Tools required for assembly (not included): Phillips head screwdriver.
Assembly Steps
- Step 1: Assemble the Base
Lay the five base legs (124345) on a flat surface. Connect them at the center to form the star base of the chair.
- Step 2: Attach the Casters
Insert the five casters into the holes at the end of each base leg. Push firmly until they click into place. Ensure the casters are securely attached.
- Step 3: Attach the Gas Lift Cover
Turn the assembled base upright. Place the gas lift cover over the top of the gas lift cylinder.
- Step 4: Attach the Gas Lift
Insert the gas lift cylinder into the center of the base. Ensure it is seated correctly.
- Step 5: Attach the Seat Mechanism to the Seat Cushion
Place the seat cushion upside down. Align the seat mechanism with the pre-drilled holes on the underside of the seat cushion. Secure the mechanism using eight bolts (128633) and the provided Allen key (100092). Tighten the bolts securely.
- Step 6: Attach the Backrest Support Frame
Attach the backrest support frame to the seat mechanism using four bolts (100130) and the Allen key (100092). Ensure the frame is oriented correctly.
- Step 7: Attach the Backrest
Align the backrest with the support frame and secure it using four bolts (122898). Tighten the bolts firmly.
- Step 8: Connect the Seat Assembly to the Base
Carefully lift the assembled seat and backrest. Align the center hole of the seat mechanism with the top of the gas lift cylinder. Lower the seat assembly onto the gas lift. Press down firmly to secure it.
- Step 9: Final Adjustments
Test the chair's height adjustment and swivel functions. The chair is equipped with safety castors that automatically brake when no one is sitting in it, preventing it from rolling away when you stand up.

Warning! Only trained personnel may replace or repair seat height adjustment components with energy accumulators. Improper handling can lead to injury.
Ensure all bolts are tightened securely before using the chair. Periodically check and retighten any loose fittings.
