Important Information Before Use
Battery: If you notice faint display or lack of illumination, replace the battery at a CASIO dealer. The battery included is for initial testing and may have a shorter life than a new one.
Water Protection: Watches are classified by water resistance levels (I to V). Refer to the table below for usage guidelines.

Notes on Water Resistance:
- Rating I: Not water-resistant. Avoid all moisture.
- Rating III: Do not press buttons underwater.
- Rating IV: Buttons can be pressed underwater, except for those in recessed areas. Rinse with fresh water and dry thoroughly if exposed to salt water.
- Rating V: Suitable for scuba diving (except for depths requiring helium-oxygen gas mixtures).
- Some water-resistant models have leather straps. Do not wear them while swimming or in water.
Watch Care
- Never attempt to open the watch case or remove the back cover.
- The rubber gasket protecting against water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years.
- If water enters the watch, have it checked immediately by a CASIO dealer.
- Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures.
- Handle the watch with care to avoid drops or rough treatment.
- Do not overtighten the strap; a finger should fit between the strap and your wrist.
- Clean the watch and strap with a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Avoid volatile substances like gasoline, solvents, or aerosol cleaners.
- Store the watch in a dry place when not in use.
- Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, aerosol sprays, adhesives, paint, etc., as these can damage gaskets, case, and finish.
- Some models have silk-screened designs on the strap. Clean gently to avoid damaging the designs.
Operating Modes and Functions
General Description
- Press the [C] button to switch between modes. See below for mode descriptions.
- Press the [D] button in any mode for approximately 3 seconds of illumination. The backlight can be set to flash with alarms.
Timekeeping Mode
Display Elements: Month, Day of Week, Date, Hour, Minute, Second, AM/PM indicator ('P').
Setting Current Time and Date:
- In Timekeeping Mode, press [A]. The seconds digits will flash, indicating they can be set.
- Press [C] to cycle through the digits to be set: Seconds, Day of Week, Hours, Date, Minutes, Month.
- When seconds are flashing: Press [E] to reset seconds to '00'. If seconds are 30-59 when [E] is pressed, 1 minute is added. If seconds are 00-29, minutes remain unchanged.
- When other digits are flashing: Press [E] to increase, [B] to decrease. Hold to speed up. For Day of Week, [E] advances, [B] goes back.
- After setting, press [A] to return to the normal Timekeeping Mode display.
Notes:
- The watch does not account for leap years. Manually adjust the date on February 29th.
- If no button is pressed for several minutes while digits are flashing, the display returns to normal Timekeeping Mode.
Backlight
The backlight illuminates the display for approximately 3 seconds. It can be set to flash with daily alarms, countdown timer alarms, stopwatch, and alarm signals. The electro-luminescent light source may dim with prolonged use.
To Turn Backlight Function On/Off:
In Timekeeping Mode, press and hold [B] for one or two seconds. An indicator will show if the function is ON or OFF.
- The backlight indicator remains visible in all modes.
- This function only controls the backlight's flashing behavior with signals; it does not affect the sound of alarms.
- Pressing [D] at any time provides about 3 seconds of illumination, regardless of the backlight function setting.
- A slight sound may be heard when the backlight is on due to the vibration of the electro-luminescent source; this is normal.
Alarm Signals Mode
Display Elements: Hourly time signal indicator, Daily alarm indicator, Current Time.
Hourly Time Signal: Sounds at the start of each hour.
Daily Alarm: Sounds for 20 seconds at the set time each day. Press any button to stop.
Setting Daily Alarm Time:
- In Alarm Signals Mode, press [A]. The hour digits will flash, and the daily alarm will automatically turn ON.
- Press [C] to cycle through the digits to be set: Hours, Minutes.
- Press [E] to increase, [B] to decrease. Hold to speed up. The 12/24-hour format matches the Timekeeping Mode setting. Be mindful of AM/PM if using 12-hour format (indicated by 'P').
- After setting, press [A] to return to Alarm Signals Mode.
To Turn Daily Alarm and Hourly Time Signal On/Off:
In Alarm Signals Mode, press [B] to cycle through the following settings:
- Both signals ON
- Both signals OFF
- Daily Alarm ON only
- Hourly Time Signal ON only
To Test Alarm Sound:
In Alarm Signals Mode, press and hold [E].
Countdown Timer Mode
The countdown timer can be set from 1 second to 60 minutes. An alarm sounds for 10 seconds when the countdown reaches zero. Pressing any button stops the alarm.
Setting Countdown Time:
- In Countdown Timer Mode, press [A]. The hour digits will flash.
- Press [C] to cycle through the digits to be set: Hours, Minutes, Seconds.
- Press [E] to increase, [B] to decrease. Hold to speed up.
- After setting, press [A] to return to Countdown Timer Mode.
Using the Countdown Timer:
- In Countdown Timer Mode, press [E] to start the timer.
- Press [E] again to stop the timer. Pressing [E] again resumes the countdown.
- After the alarm sounds, press [B] to reset the timer to the preset time. The timer automatically resets to the preset time after the alarm finishes.
Stopwatch Mode
Measures elapsed time, split times, and 1st-2nd place times. Maximum range is 23 hours 59 minutes 59.99 seconds.
Measuring Elapsed Time:
- Press [E] to start the stopwatch.
- Press [E] to stop the stopwatch. Pressing [E] again resumes timing.
- Press [B] to reset the stopwatch to 00'00"00.
Measuring Split Time:
- Press [E] to start the stopwatch.
- Press [B] to display the elapsed time (split time). The stopwatch continues timing internally.
- Press [B] again to clear the split time display and resume showing the total elapsed time.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 as needed.
- Press [E] to stop the stopwatch.
- Press [B] to reset the stopwatch to 00'00"00.
Measuring 1st-2nd Place Times:
- Press [E] to start the stopwatch.
- Press [B] when the first runner finishes to record their time.
- Press [E] when the second runner finishes.
- Press [B] to display the second runner's time.
- Press [B] again to clear the display.
Auto-Start Function:
Starts a 5-second countdown before the stopwatch begins timing. An audible signal sounds each second for the last three seconds.
Using the Auto-Start Function:
- In Stopwatch Mode, with the display at 00'00"00, press [B]. A 5-second countdown appears.
- Press [E] to start the countdown. An audible signal sounds, and the stopwatch starts when the countdown reaches zero.
- Press [B] during the countdown to return to the initial countdown screen.
- Pressing [E] during the 5-second countdown immediately starts the stopwatch.
Preset Time Function:
When the stopwatch reaches a preset time, an alarm sounds for 5 seconds. This function automatically deactivates when the preset time is set to 00'00"00.
Setting Preset Time:
- In Stopwatch Mode, with the display at 00'00"00, press [A]. The hour digits will flash.
- Press [C] to cycle through the digits to be set: Hours, Minutes, Seconds.
- When digits are flashing, press [E] to increase, [B] to decrease. Hold to speed up.
- Maximum preset time: 23 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds.
- To reset to 00'00"00, press [B] and [E] simultaneously.
- After setting, press [A] to return to Stopwatch Mode. A 'TARGET' indicator will appear on the stopwatch display.
Care for Polymeric Straps
- A white powdery substance may appear on the strap. This is harmless and can be wiped off.
- Prolonged exposure to sweat or moisture, or storage in high humidity, can damage the strap. Wipe it clean frequently with a soft cloth.
Care for Fluorescent Cases and Straps
- Direct sunlight can cause fluorescent colors to fade over time.
- Moisture can cause fluorescent colors to fade. Wipe off moisture immediately.
- Contact with other damp surfaces can cause discoloration. Keep fluorescent surfaces dry and away from other surfaces.
- Rubbing fluorescent surfaces can transfer the color.
