Frequently Asked Questions
Question 1: What should I do if my stud spacing is greater than 16" or if I can't center the mount on the wood studs?
Option A: Hardwood Boards
- Buy two hardwood boards long enough to cover the gap between two wood studs and firmly attach them.
- Securely attach the TV Wall Mount to the boards.
Board Size: 1 1/2" T x 3 1/2" W (38 x 89 mm).
The wood boards and studs must be capable of supporting four times the weight of the TV and TV wall mount combined.
Textual description of diagram: The diagram shows two wooden studs. On the left, two hardwood boards are attached horizontally across the studs using lag screws. The TV wall mount is then attached to these boards. A level is shown on one of the boards to ensure it is straight. On the right, the TV wall mount is shown attached to the studs, with the hardwood boards positioned between the mount and the studs. Lag screws are used to secure the mount to the studs.
Option B: Extension Brackets
- Attach extension brackets to the TV Wall Mount. If you have any questions about obtaining extension brackets, please contact customer service for more information.
- Install the TV Wall Mount on the wood studs using the extension brackets.
Textual description of diagram: The diagram shows a TV wall mount with extension brackets attached. These brackets extend the mounting points of the main mount, allowing it to be attached to studs that are further apart.
Question 2: How do I find the right height for mounting the TV?
The simplest method is to position the TV so that the center is the same height as your eye level while viewing. A video demonstrating this can be found by scanning a QR code.
Textual description of diagram: The diagram shows a TV wall mount being attached to a wall. An arrow indicates the direction of movement. A close-up view shows a level indicator on the mount, ensuring it is horizontal.
Question 3: How can I remove the decorative cover if I've attached it before assembling the front support?
Carefully release the upper clip at the back as you push the decorative cover away from the arm assembly.
Textual description of diagram: The diagram shows a hand releasing a clip on the back of a decorative cover. An arrow indicates pushing the cover away from the arm assembly. Another diagram shows the decorative cover being detached from the TV mount.
Question 4: How can I raise/lower the TV if the TV Wall Mount is already fixed on the wall?
- Remove the TV from the TV Wall Mount.
- Remove the TV brackets from the TV and reattach according to instructions A or B in the picture below (A for lifting up the TV or B for lowering the TV).
- Hang the TV on the TV Wall Mount and secure.
A. To raise the TV by a few inches, reattach the TV brackets using the upper holes in the brackets.
B. To lower the TV by a few inches, reattach the TV brackets using the lower holes in the brackets.
Textual description of diagram: The diagram shows two views of TV brackets attached to the back of a TV. The top view shows the brackets attached to the upper holes, indicating a higher TV position. The bottom view shows the brackets attached to the lower holes, indicating a lower TV position. A side view illustrates the TV mount attached to the wall, with the TV on the mount.
Question 5: It's too hard to adjust the swivel angle or extension of the TV Wall Mount.
- Mount the TV and Wall Mount on the wall before trying to move the arms. Only move the TV by the left and right edges. Do not push on the screen of the TV.
- If you have tried Option 1 but adjustment is still too hard, try lubricating the arm joints with a few drops of machine oil.
Textual description of diagram: The diagram shows a TV mounted on a wall mount. Arrows indicate that the TV should be moved by its edges to adjust the swivel angle or extension. Another diagram shows a close-up of the arm joints with a bottle of oil being applied to lubricate them.
