INSTALLATION
STEP 1: ATTACHING THE TV BRACKETS TO YOUR TV
SELECT TV BOLTS
Only one bolt size fits your TV. Hand thread bolts into the threaded inserts on the back of your TV to determine which bolt (M4, M6 or M8) to use. We recommend screwing in at least five turns. Do not turn past the bottom of the hole.
SPACER AND BOLT CONFIGURATIONS
- Option A: For Flat Back TVs
Add spacers, if needed, to fit the bolt length and TV back. - Option B: For Curved Back TVs
Spacers must be tall enough so that the curved back of the TV does not interfere with the mounting plate. - Option C: For TVs With A Bump
The TV brackets must be flush on the bump and leveled by spacers on the gap. - Option D: For TVs With Protruding Cables
Use spacers to create extra space between the TV and TV brackets. - Option E: For TVs With Recessed Holes
Spacers need to fill in the recessed holes on the back of the TV, while keeping the TV brackets as close to the TV as possible.
CAUTION: The brackets should be equally centered from the top and bottom of the TV and must be fastened securely in place. DO NOT overtighten.
STEP 2: MOUNTING THE ARM ASSEMBLY / WALL PLATE ON THE WALL
For mounting on wood stud walls, go to Option A.
For mounting on solid concrete or brick walls, go to Option B.
OPTION A: MOUNTING ON WOOD STUD WALLS
IMPORTANT: Maximum horizontal distance between fasteners is 16" (406mm).
- Avoid the risk of personal injury or property damage! Tighten the lag screws [A1] only until they are pulled firmly against the wall plate (DO NOT overtighten). Do not use a drill; only use a socket wrench.
- Do not use wall anchors [A2] for this mounting option. Wall anchors [A2] are used for solid concrete and brick installations only.
- Any material covering the wall must not exceed 5/8" (16mm).
- Minimum wood stud size: 1 1/2" W x 3 1/2" D (38 x 89mm)
- Wood Stud Spacing: 12" to 16" (center to center)
- NOTE: If the wood studs are more than 16" apart, or if the studs are not in the desired mounting location, you can secure (2) wood boards (or extension brackets) to the wall studs, then install the TV mount on the boards. Minimum wood board dimensions: 1 1/2" T x 3 1/2" W x > 18" L (38 x 89 x >457mm). Go to page 16 for details.
STUD CENTER MUST BE VERIFIED.
Installation Steps for Wood Stud Walls:
- Use a stud finder to locate wood studs, or use an awl to check the edges. Mark the edge and center positions.
- Position the arm assembly / wall plate [01] at your desired height and line up the holes with your stud centerline. Level the wall plate and mark the holes.
- Drill four pilot holes using a 7/32" (5.5mm) diameter drill bit. Make sure the depth is not less than 2 3/4" (70mm). NOTE: Be sure to drill into the center of the studs.
- Mount the arm assembly / wall plate [01] on the wall using the lag screws [A1]. Tighten the lag screws only until they are pulled firmly against the wall plate (DO NOT overtighten). HEAVY! You may need assistance with this step.
OPTION B: MOUNTING ON SOLID CONCRETE OR BRICK WALLS
WARNING:
- Avoid the risk of personal injury or property damage! Tighten the lag screws [A1] only until they are pulled firmly against the wall plate (DO NOT overtighten). Do not use a drill; only use a socket wrench.
- Use wall anchors [A2] for this mounting option.
- Mount the arm assembly / wall plate [01] directly on the concrete surface.
- Minimum solid concrete thickness: 8" (203mm)
- Never mount in the mortar between bricks.
Installation Steps for Solid Concrete or Brick Walls:
- Position the arm assembly / wall plate [01] at your desired height. Level the wall plate and mark the holes.
- Drill four pilot holes using a 3/8" (10mm) diameter drill bit. Make sure the depth is not less than 3" (75mm). Never mount in the mortar between bricks. NOTE: Be sure to use the specified drill bit.
- Use a hammer to knock the anchors [A2] into the drilled holes. Ensure the anchors are seated flush with the concrete or brick surface.
- Mount the arm assembly / wall plate [01] on the wall using the lag screws [A1] and anchors. Tighten the lag screws only until they are pulled firmly against the wall plate (DO NOT overtighten). HEAVY! You may need assistance with this step.
STEP 3: TESTING TV WALL MOUNT INSTALLATION
Before hanging the TV on the mount, pull down on the mount with your hands to check that it's securely installed.
STEP 4: MOUNTING THE TV ON THE ARM ASSEMBLY / WALL PLATE
The TV brackets have three sets of hooks. Choose the appropriate hooks before attaching the TV, then hang the TV on the arm assembly / wall plate using the hooks on the TV brackets. HEAVY! You may need assistance with this step.
Hook Choices: The first choice, The second choice, The third choice.
STEP 5: ADJUSTING THE TILT ANGLE OF THE TV
Unscrew the bolts of safety locks [03] about 3 turns. Insert the safety locks [03] into the upward-facing hooks located directly below the horizontal TV plate. Tighten the bolts until the bolts touch the TV plate.
CAUTION: DO NOT overtighten or overloosen the knob.
Slightly loosen the knob [T]. Adjust the TV to your desired tilt angle. Retighten the knob [T] to lock the tilt angle.
STEP 6: LEVELING THE TV
CAUTION: DO NOT overtighten or overloosen the nuts.
If needed, the TV can be leveled. Slightly loosen four leveling nuts [L]. Level your TV. Retighten the leveling nuts [L] to hold the TV in place.
