Installation dimension drawing of GC-DP1035G: The drawing shows a submersible pump with main dimensions including height (398 mm), body diameter (approx. 169 mm), discharge outlet diameter (NPT 2), and cord length (6m). Specific points like the handle, motor housing, and base are indicated.

4. Safety Precautions

  1. [Read Manual] Please read and fully understand the operation manual before operation.
  2. [Power Off] Cut off the power supply before any installation and maintenance. The electric pump shall be reliably grounded. To prevent electric shock, make sure to install an electric leakage circuit breaker.
  3. [Warning: Low Water/Clogged] Do not operate the pump when the water level is too low or the water inlet is blocked by impurities. If not, the service life of motor and other components will be shortened or damaged due to high temperature. Repair the pump only when the power supply is cut off and impeller is still.
  4. [Prohibited: pH/Flammable Liquids] It's strictly prohibited to transfer liquid with pH value other than 4 - 10 or any flammable, gasifiable or explosive fluid.
  5. [Warning: Do Not Pull Cable] Do not pull or lift the pump cable to move the electric pump. Sealing may be damaged or cable broken, causing electric shock injuries. Fix a rope to the handle to install the electric pump in deep water. Do not hang the electric pump in the water during operation to avoid any possible damage.
  6. [Warning: Do Not Touch During Operation] It is strictly prohibited to touch the pump during working. Do not wash or swim in the working area. Keep children, bystanders, and animals away from the working area.
  7. [Warning: Max Temperature 40°C] Do not use the pump in water hotter than 40°C. Motor malfunction may occur due to deformation of sealing parts.
  8. [Check Rotation Direction] Make sure the rotation direction of the pump is correct before operation. Wrong rotation may cause malfunctions.
  9. [Check Nameplate Voltage/Frequency] Please follow the voltage and frequency stated on the nameplate while using the pump.

5. Installation

1. Pipe connection

First tighten the adaptor to the outlet of the pump, put the hose into the adaptor, tighten the clamp, then fix the hose with the adaptor.

2. Electrical connection

A leakage protection device should be correctly installed when wiring. Make sure the yellow-green wire of a 3-phase pump is reliably grounded. The socket must be reliably grounded if using a pump with a plug. For 3-phase pumps, select the circuit breaker in accordance with current or power value (refer to the table of Circuit Breaker Selection on page 5).

3. Hoisting

Fix a strong rope on the pump handle, hoist the pump and sink it slowly to the mounting position. Fix the pump, pipes, and the rope. Use the rope for maintenance hoisting only (do not pull the cable and float switch).

4. Startup

Before starting, ensure cold insulation resistance is over 50 MΩ (megohms) and hot insulation resistance is over 1 MΩ (megohms). Before immersion, perform a trial operation for less than 10 seconds. Check if the rotation direction matches the arrow indication. If a 3-phase pump runs in reverse, exchange any 2 wires of the cable.

6. Transport and storage

  1. The pump is packed by wooden box or cardboard carton. Do not store it in a place with high humidity.
  2. Violent transportation, such as throwing and smashing, is strictly prohibited.

7. Installation Precautions

[Important] Proficient personnel with professional qualifications are required for installation and maintenance.

[Wiring Safety] Do not perform junction box wiring unless the power is off.

[Grounding] The pump should be grounded to prevent leakage and equipped with a leakage protection switch.

[Outdoor Use] If the pump is used outdoors, an extension cord made of rubber cable for outdoor use must be used.

  1. Thoroughly check the pump for any damage during transportation or storage, especially the cable. If damaged, contact professionals for replacement or repair.
  2. Protect the cable carefully to avoid tear and wear. Never pull the pump by the electric cable, as this is dangerous for the pump and people.
  3. The immersion depth should be not less than 0.5 m and not more than 5 m. Do not place the pump into mud or let weeds clog the impeller, as this will prevent proper operation. Regularly check the water level. The pump is prohibited from operating above the water surface.
  4. Set up a warning sign (e.g., "Danger! Electrical hazard") to avoid accidents in the area where the pump is used.
  5. The built-in protector does not work when the pump runs properly. If the protector activates frequently, disconnect the power and check the reason. Do not operate the pump until the malfunction is resolved.
  6. If the pump location is far from the power source, use a thicker cable. Refer to the table of cable length and cross-sectional area (Page 2).
  7. Do not fill any oil or water into the motor chamber.

8. Maintenance

  1. Check the insulation resistance between the motor winding and casing regularly. It should not be lower than 1 MΩ (Megohms). Otherwise, take appropriate measures for safe use.
  2. After 2000 hours of use, perform maintenance by following these steps:
    • Dismantle: Check all parts like bearings and mechanical seals. Replace if damaged.
    • Pressure test: Pressure shall be tested after repair or replacement. The pressure should be 0.2 MPa. No leakage should be found within 3 minutes.
    • Change oil: Change the #32 anti-wear hydraulic oil in the oil chamber once a year. Unscrew the filling plug, fill with #32 anti-wear hydraulic oil up to 75% of the oil chamber volume. See picture below.

Oil Change Description: Unscrew the oil injection bolt at the oil chamber and replace with clean #32 anti-wear hydraulic oil, filling to 75% of the chamber's volume.

9. Troubleshooting

⚠️ Please shut down the power before repairing the water pump.

Problem Likely Cause Solution
Start-up is difficult. 1. Voltage is low; 1. Adjust voltage to the rated value ± 6%;
2. Impeller is clogged; 2. Clean impeller;
3. Voltage drop of the cable is high; 3. Select a proper cable;
4. Stator winding is damaged. 4. Return pump to the service center or factory.
Flow is low. 1. Head is too high; 1. Refer to the recommended head range;
2. Pump inlet is clogged; 2. Clean pump inlet;
3. Impeller is damaged; 3. Replace impeller;
4. Immersion depth is not enough; 4. Adjust the immersion depth (more than 0.5 m);
The pump suddenly stops. 1. Protector is activated or fuse is burnt; 1. Check voltage;
2. Impeller is clogged; 2. Clean impeller;
3. Stator winding is damaged. 3. Return pump to the service center or factory.

Additional Information

Some anti-wear hydraulic oil is injected into the oil chamber of the pump to ensure the mechanical seal is well lubricated and cooled. In case of pump damage or malfunction, leakage of this oil may occur, potentially damaging plants or polluting drinking water and food. Evaluate the operating environment and consequences before selecting this pump. If an oil leakage is found, stop the pump immediately and handle it properly.

Disconnect the power before adjusting the pump position or touching the pump.

Do not immerse the cable joint or plug board into water. If the power supply is out of reach of the equipped cable, extend it with a thicker cable and wrap the joint carefully. Refer to the table of cable length and cross-sectional area (Page 2).

To remove the pump from water, do so only after the power is off and the pump has cooled down.
