Huawei B636-336 4G CPE Quick Start Guide

This guide provides instructions for setting up and using your Huawei B636-336 4G CPE.

Getting Started

  1. Insert SIM Card: Insert a nano-SIM card (4FF) into the SIM card slot. Mini-SIM (2FF) and micro-SIM (3FF) cards are not supported.
  2. Connect Power: Connect the router's power adapter to a power supply. The router will automatically start up and connect to the Internet.
  3. Connect Wi-Fi Device: Connect your Wi-Fi device to the router's Wi-Fi network. The default Wi-Fi name and password can be found on the router's nameplate.
  4. Connect via LAN (Optional): If using a computer, connect it to one of the router's LAN ports using a network cable.
  5. Log in to Management Page: Access the web-based management page to manage your router settings, such as changing the Wi-Fi name or password. The default IP address and login password are also on the router's nameplate. Alternatively, scan the QR code to download the Huawei AI Life app.

Overview of Indicators and Ports

Indicator/Port Description
Network status indicator Steady white: Connected to network. Steady red: Not connected to network.
Wi-Fi® indicator Steady on: Wi-Fi is enabled. Flashing: A HUAWEI HiLink device that can be paired is detected. Press the WPS button to initiate pairing.
Signal strength indicator Indicates the strength of the cellular signal. More bars mean a stronger signal.
External antenna ports For connecting external antennas to improve signal reception.
Reset button Press and hold with a needle-type object to restore the router to factory settings. The network status indicator will flash when the button is pressed.
Landline phone port (Optional) For connecting a telephone.
LAN/WAN port Connect LAN devices (e.g., computers, switches) or a wall-mounted Ethernet port for Internet access.
WPS button Press to enable WPS or HiLink connection. If the Wi-Fi indicator flashes, wait up to two minutes for it to stop.

Maintain a minimum distance of 15 cm between the device and pacemakers. Consult your service provider for information regarding hearing aids and pacemakers.

Do not use the device in environments with flammable liquids, gases, or explosives. Do not store or transport the device with such materials.

Operating Environment

Operate the device in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area. Avoid dusty, damp, or dirty environments, and strong magnetic fields. Keep away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Recommended operating temperature: 0°C to 40°C. Recommended storage temperature: -20°C to +70°C.

Child Safety

Keep the device and its accessories away from children as they may contain small, detachable parts that present a choking hazard. Adult supervision is recommended for children using the device.

Accessories

Use only manufacturer-approved accessories. Unapproved accessories may cause damage, fire, or explosion and may void the warranty.

Power Adapter Safety

The power adapter is a disconnect device. Unplug it when not in use. Do not use a damaged adapter. Ensure hands are dry when connecting/disconnecting cables. Do not touch the device or adapter with wet hands.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Use a clean, soft, and dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use chemical detergents. Keep the device dry and protect it from collision. Do not dismantle or attempt to repair the device yourself; contact an authorized service center.
