Installation

Important: Have a Philips screwdriver ready for cable connections.

  1. The electronic doorbell can be fixed in two ways: in a 4x2 junction box (standard electrical box) or directly on the wall.
  2. Ensure the doorbell's power supply is disconnected before connecting it. Connect power only after installation is complete.
  3. Route installation cables through the protective cover and fixing base before securing them to the wall or connecting them to the XPE terminals.
  4. Screw the fixing base and rain cover to the selected installation location.
  5. Mount the doorbell unit onto the fixing base, ensuring no cables are pinched between the base and the unit.
  6. Connect the cables according to the configuration using a Philips screwdriver, referring to the connector details.
  7. Verify all cables are securely connected and neatly arrange them in the available space below the terminals.
  8. Attach the protective cover, ensuring it is properly seated to prevent false tamper triggers and that it does not crush cables.
  9. Secure the front cover with the bottom screw.

Important: After installation, do not place any obstacles near the detection area that could interfere with TAG reading sensitivity.

Operations

Jumpers

PROG1 and RESET

Used for general password reset:

  • Action: Remove power, place PROG jumper, restore power. Result: LD1 lights up.
  • Action: Remove PROG jumper.
  • Action: Place and remove RESET jumper. Result: LD1 starts blinking.

Note: Resetting the general password erases user programs and master TAGs but does not affect the Portaria key, prefix, or user TAGs.

BOOT

Used for firmware updates, backup, and restoration via micro-USB cable:

  • Action: Remove power, place BOOT jumper, restore power. Result: LD1 does not light up.
  • Action: Connect XPE to computer via USB. Result: A file folder opens (like a USB drive).
  • Action: Replace existing file with the new file.
  • Action: Disconnect XPE from computer.
  • Action: Remove BOOT jumper.
  • Action: Place and remove RESET jumper. Result: LD1 starts blinking.

Note: Backup and restore functions may not be available on all board versions.

Making Calls

XPE 1013 FIT ID

  • To call an apartment or extension: Dial the block number (if applicable) + apartment number. The Cancel key ends the call.
  • To call the reception/porter: Press the Portaria key. The Cancel key ends the call.

Indicator: During a call, the green LED next to the Portaria key indicates call tones (blinking) and conversation (solid).

XPE 1001 FIT ID

  • To call a pre-programmed extension: Press the Única (Unique) key.
  • If the called extension answers, it can transfer the call to another extension.

Indicator: During a call, the green LED next to the Portaria key indicates call tones (blinking) and conversation (solid).

Activating Outputs

FA Output (Electromechanical Lock)

The XPE 1001/1013 FIT ID provides a pulsed signal (non-latching) to open an approximately 12V electromechanical lock on the FA output. Activation methods include:

  • Calling the unit and entering * + 1 (or configured code).
  • The unit answering an incoming call and entering * + 1 (or configured code) after two long beeps.
  • Approximating an RFID (Mifare) key fob to the reader.
  • Entering SENHA + 1 + SSS + Apt (where SSS is the 3-digit user password and Apt is the apartment number).
  • Activating via a button connected to B1 and GND terminals (requires programming).

Indicator: LED shows green for access granted, red for denied or error.

NA and NF Outputs (Dry Contact)

The XPE 1001/1013 FIT ID activates a relay that changes the NA (NO) and NF (NC) outputs for a programmed time. Activation methods include:

  • Calling the unit and entering * + 2 (or configured code).
  • The unit answering an incoming call and entering * + 2 (or configured code) after two long beeps.
  • Approximating an RFID (Mifare) key fob to the reader.
  • Entering SENHA + 2 + SSS + Apt (where SSS is the 3-digit user password and Apt is the apartment number).
  • Activating via a button connected to B1 and GND terminals.

Note: For electromagnetic and electromechanical lock installation, consult the full manual available at www.intelbras.com.br.

Indicator: LED shows green for access granted, red for denied or error.

Intelbras is not responsible for accidental opening of locks caused by improper installation or misuse.

Simultaneous Lock Opening (F1 F2 + NA C NF)

  • Via the doorbell: Press SENHA + 3 + SSS + Apt.
  • Via MF command: During conversation, enter the combined code (e.g., *1 for F1 F2, *2 for NA C NF, *3 for both).

Programming

Programming is done via a telephone connected to the unit. The unit will automatically answer and confirm with two long beeps. If no master password is set, it enters programming mode directly. If a master password exists, it must be entered first.

General Programming Notes:

  • Two long beeps confirm a successful programming.
  • Eight short beeps indicate an error.
  • The unit exits programming mode when the call is terminated.

Key Programming Categories:

  • Mode of Programming: Access programming by dialing the unit's extension.
  • User Password Management: Enable/disable password entry for user management. Set/change/delete master and user passwords.
  • Occupied Tone Reading: Configure for central units without standard Anatel tones.
  • Cancel/Unique Key Timeout: Set a delay for the Cancel or Unique key after a call starts.
  • Unique Key (XPE 1001 FIT ID): Configure the extension dialed by the Unique key.
  • Portaria Key (XPE 1013 FIT ID): Configure the extension dialed by the Portaria key.
  • Call Prefix: Set a prefix for calls, useful for multi-block buildings.
  • Conversation Time: Limit conversation duration.
  • Volume Settings: Adjust speaker and microphone volume levels.
  • Door Open Alert: Configure audible alerts for open doors.
  • Output Activation: Configure output modes (pulsed/timed), activation methods (password, TAG, button), and output timing.
  • TAG Management: Register, exclude, or manage RFID TAGs and user passwords associated with apartments.
  • Buzzer Signal: Enable/disable access notification beeps.
  • TAG Read Interval: Set the time between TAG readings.
  • General Reset: Restore factory default settings (except Portaria key, Unique key, and Prefix).

Examples of Use

The following scenarios demonstrate possible uses of the XPE 1001/1013 FIT ID outputs and inputs.

Diagram Description: Illustrates various connection scenarios, including connecting to a central unit, external relay, magnetic lock, and elevator systems. It shows how to convert F1/F2 output to a dry contact using an external relay and the correct wiring for a magnetic lock with a diode.

Note on External Relay: For using the F1/F2 output as a dry contact with an external relay (12 Vdc / Max. 0.1 A), program the F1/F2 output as timed and connect the relay between F2 and GND. Do not use loads exceeding 0.1 A or connect locks directly to this output.

Note on Magnetic Lock Diode: The included diode should be installed in parallel with the electromagnetic lock on the dry contact output to eliminate voltage spikes during demagnetization. Ensure correct polarity (cathode to positive terminal).

Warranty

Intelbras provides a 1-year warranty (90 days legal + 9 months contractual) against manufacturing defects. This warranty covers free replacement of parts and labor for defects found during the warranty period. It does not cover issues arising from improper use or installation. The warranty is void if the product is tampered with, misused, or damaged by external factors. For service, contact an authorized Intelbras service center.
