Flowtoys Composite Flower Stick

Features, Operating Instructions, and Troubleshooting

Product Overview

Presenting the world's first durable, rechargeable illuminated flower stick, combining high-performance materials typically used in the aerospace and racing industries. It features a thin, lightweight, yet super-strong and rigid carbon fiber shaft for optimum comfort and performance. The transparent, stiff, and impact-resistant polycarbonate end-tubes, along with soft, clear, durable silicone end caps, provide maximum glow and protection. Made with advanced materials, this illuminated flowtoys composite flower stick is designed to enhance your practice and performance.

Components

Carbon Fiber Shaft

Custom woven 12mm carbon fiber with a custom elastomer grip. It is thin, lightweight, super-strong, and rigid.

Capsule Light

A MicroUSB rechargeable light unit featuring super-bright multicolor LEDs and a built-in high-power Li-ion battery. Refer to the accompanying capsule insert for detailed operating instructions. [Diagram Description: A cylindrical LED light unit with a MicroUSB port visible at one end and a button at the other.]

Specifications: Lithium-ion battery (3.8V, 650mAh, 2.47Wh), CE certified.

Composite Connector

3D-printed connectors designed to screw into the carbon fiber shaft, creating a firm and secure connection. [Diagram Description: A small, shaped piece designed to join tubes.]

Flowcap

A thick, soft, durable silicone end cap with a rigid inner structure. It snaps securely onto flowtoys tubes and releases with a firm twist. A recessed end-button operates the light. [Diagram Description: A flexible silicone cap with a button on its surface.]

Tubes

Made from transparent, virtually bulletproof polycarbonate. They connect to flowcaps via snap-button holes. [Diagram Description: A transparent cylindrical section.]

Flowers

Beautiful custom-designed silicone flowers that offer slow rotation with an optimal combination of roll-ability and roll-resistance. They can be removed or re-positioned. [Diagram Description: Silicone petals attached to a central piece, designed to wrap around a tube.]

Operating Instructions

Using Your Flowcaps

Removing/Attaching Flowcaps from Tubes

To detach: Twist firmly to release the buttons and pull.

To install: Place the cap over the tube, push, and twist until the snap-buttons click into the holes.

Tip: If you find it difficult to remove the flowcap, check your grip. You might be holding the internal buttons against the tube. [Diagram Description: Illustrates twisting motion for attachment/detachment.]

Attaching Capsule Lights to Flowcaps

Insert the capsule light into the flowcap, button side first. Twist and push until it settles. The seams of the capsule must be aligned with the buttons inside the cap for it to fit correctly.

Note: The flowcap connects very firmly to the tube. To twist and remove, grip the tube that the cap is connected to, not the carbon fiber shaft.

Always check your connections before use. [Diagram Description: Shows a capsule light being inserted into a flowcap.]

Installing Your Flowers

Flowers are designed to be installed on 1" tubes. The tips of the flowers should point towards the end/cap of your prop.

Installation Steps:

  1. Start at the end with no button, text facing up.
  2. Roll the flower around the tube, using one hand to roll your prop while holding and wrapping the flower with the other hand.
  3. Tip: Keep some tension, but do not stretch flowers while installing.
  4. At the end, tighten the tension enough so the flower forms a circle.
  5. Tip: Do NOT pull the flower at the button hole, as this might tear the hole.
  6. Align the button holes and fasten the button through both holes.
  7. Repeat at the other end of your prop, and you're ready to flow!

Notes: Flowers may show burn or heat marks from the laser-cutting process; this is normal. Be careful when storing your flowers, as petals can tear off if they catch on other items, though they remain usable. Contact support@flowtoys.com for half-price replacements. Troubleshooting

My Flowcap Won't Release from the Tube

Make sure to grip the top end of your flowcap when removing it. If you grip lower down the cap, the silicone can press against the tubing, making it harder to remove.

My Capsule Lights Are Falling Out of the Flowcap

When installing capsule lights into a flowcap, make sure to TWIST until you feel the light settle into place. You should be able to wiggle it left and right a tiny bit.

Tips

Important Material Warnings

Do not use glowsticks or WD-40 with tubing. While polycarbonate is very strong, it breaks down in the presence of certain esters, including those produced by chemical glowsticks, mineral spirits, and WD-40. Do NOT put chemical glowsticks into the tubes, otherwise they can become brittle and shatter.

Security Checks

Make sure all caps and connectors are fully secured before use! Check that the buttons in your caps and connectors are fully clicked into tubing holes.

Grip Maintenance

Grip can wear out with use and is affected by oils from your skin. To prolong the life of your grip, clean it after heavy use and before long periods of storage. Use rubbing alcohol and a cloth, OR a cloth with warm soapy water to remove oils from the grip. Wipe away any soap residue with clean water.
