Using Your Flowcaps
Attaching/Removing Flowcaps from Tubes:
To detach: Twist the cap firmly to release the internal snap-buttons and pull it off the tube. To install: Place the cap over the tube, push, and twist until the buttons click into the holes. [click!]
Attaching Capsules to Flowcaps:
Insert the capsule light into the Flowcap, button side first. Twist and push until the light clicks and settles into place. Ensure the seams of the capsule are aligned with the buttons inside the cap for a proper fit within the tube.
Note: The Flowcap connects very firmly to the end of the tube. To twist and remove, grip the tube the cap is attached to, not the carbon fiber shaft. Always check connections before use.
Tip: If removing the Flowcap from the tube is difficult, check your hand grip. Gripping the internal buttons against the tube can make removal harder. Use the provided grippy mat to assist by holding the tube while twisting the cap off.
Troubleshooting
My Flowcap won't release from the tube.
Ensure you grip the top end of your Flowcap when removing it. Gripping lower down can cause the silicone to press against the tube, making removal more difficult.
My capsule lights are falling out of the Flowcap.
When installing capsule lights into a Flowcap, twist until you feel the light settle into place. It should allow for a slight wiggle left and right.
Caring for Your Baton
- Do not use glowsticks or WD-40 with tubing: Polycarbonate is strong but can break down when exposed to certain esters found in chemical glowsticks, mineral spirits, and WD-40. Avoid placing chemical glowsticks inside the tubes to prevent them from becoming brittle and shattering.
- Ensure all caps and connectors are fully secured before use: Verify that the buttons in your caps and connectors are properly clicked into the tubing holes.
- Clean your grip: Grip can degrade with use and is affected by skin oils. To extend grip life, clean it after heavy use and before long-term storage. Use rubbing alcohol and a cloth, or a cloth with warm soapy water to remove oils. Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove soap residue.
- Flowcaps can be cleaned with soap and warm water, or machine washed with laundry. Air-dry only; do not use heat.
