Appearance
Familiarize yourself with the HUAWEI Mobile WiFi Pro2's physical components:
- 1 WPS button: Used to connect WPS-enabled devices. Press and hold for over five seconds to initiate a WPS connection.
- 2 Screen: Displays device status information.
- 3 Slot cover: Protects card slots.
- 4 Power button: Press and hold to turn the device on or off.
- 5 Lanyard hole: For attaching a lanyard.
- 6 Output charging port: For charging other devices.
- 7 Micro USB port: For charging the device.
- 8 Ethernet port: For wired network connection.
- 9 NFC sensor: Enables quick Wi-Fi connection via NFC.
- 10 Reset button: Press and hold to restart the device and restore factory settings.
If you forget your username, password, or SSID, restoring to factory settings is recommended.
Installation
To install a SIM card and optional microSD card:
- Open the slot cover.
- Insert the micro-SIM card.
- Insert the microSD card (optional).
Network Connection
The device's SSID (Wi-Fi network name) and Wi-Fi network key are displayed on the screen.
For enhanced security, it is strongly recommended to change the default SSID and Wi-Fi network key.
HUAWEI Mobile WiFi Pro2 as a Router
You can use a network cable connected to the Ethernet port to reduce mobile data usage.
HUAWEI HiLink App
Download the HUAWEI HiLink app to easily manage your HUAWEI Mobile WiFi Pro2. The app allows you to:
- Change the SSID and Wi-Fi network key.
- Check data traffic and SMS messages.
- Check roaming state and signal strength.
You can also manage your HUAWEI Mobile WiFi Pro2 via the web interface at http://192.168.8.1
. The default username and password are 'admin'. Access the 'Help' section in the web interface for more details.
Connect to Wi-Fi via NFC (Optional)
If your device (e.g., Android phone/tablet) has NFC functionality, you can connect to Wi-Fi by touching it to the HUAWEI Mobile WiFi Pro2's NFC sensor.
Before starting: Ensure your phone/tablet is unlocked, NFC is enabled, and your HUAWEI Mobile WiFi Pro2 is powered on with the HUAWEI HiLink app installed.
- Touch your device against the NFC sensor on the HUAWEI Mobile WiFi Pro2.
- Upon successful detection, the HUAWEI HiLink app will open, and you will be connected to Wi-Fi. A Wi-Fi icon should appear in your device's status bar.
This feature is not available for iOS devices.
If HUAWEI HiLink is not installed, touching the NFC sensor will prompt you to download and install the app.
You can also download HUAWEI HiLink by scanning the QR code in the app section of this manual or by searching in Google Play or the HUAWEI App Center.
Wi-Fi Extender (Optional)
The Wi-Fi extender feature enhances Wi-Fi coverage and connects to existing Wi-Fi networks to reduce mobile data usage. Enable this function within the HUAWEI HiLink app.
Charging Other Devices
You can charge your phone or Bluetooth headset using the HUAWEI Mobile WiFi Pro2 via a charging strap or cable.
Method 1: Using the Charging Strap
- Open the charging strap.
- Insert the charging strap into the designated port.
The charging strap is a standard accessory.
Method 2: Using a Charging Cable
The HUAWEI Mobile WiFi Pro2 cannot charge other devices if its battery is low or if it is overheating.
Device Charging
Please use only compatible chargers provided by a designated manufacturer.
The charger is an optional accessory. Contact an authorized retailer for purchase.
Tips and Troubleshooting
- Device Not Responding?
Try restarting the device. If the issue persists, restore it to factory settings.
- Intermittent Wi-Fi Connection?
The Wi-Fi auto-off feature conserves power by turning off Wi-Fi after a period of inactivity. Press the POWER button to re-enable Wi-Fi. You can also disable this feature via the web interface, though this may impact battery life.
- Cannot Connect to Network Despite Correct Settings?
PIN verification might be enabled. Launch HUAWEI HiLink and enter the correct PIN. You can disable this feature in the app's Settings if it becomes inconvenient.
- Cannot Access Web Interface at 192.168.8.1?
This may be due to an IP address conflict. Try accessing
http://192.168.9.1
. If your device has an LCD screen, the correct IP address will be displayed. - Device Not Powering On?
The battery may be depleted. Charge the device for a while and try powering it on again.
- Device Powered Off Suddenly?
The device may have overheated, triggering its protection system. Ensure the device is properly ventilated and cooled before powering it on again.
Safety Information

Electronic Device Safety
- Do not use the device if prohibited or if it causes danger or interference with other electronic devices.
Interference with Medical Equipment
- Follow hospital and healthcare facility regulations. Do not use where prohibited.
- Wireless devices may affect hearing aids or pacemakers. Consult your service provider.
- Maintain a minimum distance of 15 cm (6 inches) between the device and a pacemaker. If using a pacemaker, hold the device on the opposite side and do not carry it in your front pocket.
Areas with Flammables and Explosives
- Do not use in environments with flammables or explosives (e.g., gas stations, chemical plants) due to explosion or fire risk.
- Do not store or transport the device in containers with flammable liquids, gases, or explosives.
Traffic Security
- Observe local laws and regulations. Do not use your wireless device while driving. Concentrate on driving.
- RF signals may affect vehicle electronic systems. Consult the vehicle manufacturer.
- Do not place the device over an airbag or in its deployment area.
- Wireless devices may interfere with airplane flight systems. Do not use where prohibited by airline regulations.
Operating Environment
- Avoid dusty, damp, or dirty environments, and magnetic fields.
- Do not use during thunderstorms to prevent lightning-related damage.
- Ideal operating temperatures: 0°C to +35°C (32°F to 95°F). Ideal storage temperatures: -10°C to +45°C (14°F to 113°F). Extreme temperatures can cause damage.
- Keep the device and accessories in a well-ventilated, cool area away from direct sunlight. Do not cover the device with towels or place it in poorly ventilated containers.
- Do not expose the device to direct sunlight for prolonged periods (e.g., on a car dashboard).
- Protect against fire and electrical shock hazards by avoiding rain and moisture.
- Keep away from heat sources (heaters, microwaves, stoves, radiators, candles).
- Stop using if the device overheats. Prolonged skin contact with an overheated device may cause low-temperature burns.
- Do not touch the device's antenna, as it may reduce communication quality.
- Keep the device and accessories away from children and pets to prevent biting or sucking, which could cause damage or explosion.
- Observe local laws and regulations, and respect privacy and legal rights.
Child's Safety
- Children should not play with the device or accessories unsupervised. The device may contain small, detachable parts that pose a choking hazard.

Charger Safety
- Ensure the socket-outlet is easily accessible when using pluggable devices.
- Unplug the charger when not in use.
- Do not drop or impact the charger.
- If the power cable is damaged or the plug is loose, stop using it immediately to prevent electric shock, short circuits, or fire.
- Do not touch the power cord with wet hands. Do not pull the cord to disconnect the charger.

- Connect the device only to products with the USB-IF logo or USB-IF compliance.
Battery Safety
- Do not connect battery poles with conductive materials (keys, jewelry) as this may cause short-circuiting, injuries, or burns.
- Keep batteries away from excessive heat and direct sunlight. Do not place on or in heating devices. Batteries may explode if overheated.
- Do not attempt to modify, remanufacture, insert foreign objects into, immerse, or expose batteries to water or other liquids. This may lead to fire, explosion, or other hazards.
- If battery electrolyte leaks, avoid contact with skin or eyes. Flush with clean water and consult a doctor if contact occurs.
- If the battery shows deformation, color change, or overheating during charging or storage, stop using the device and remove the battery immediately. Continued use may lead to leakage, fire, or explosion.
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire; they may explode. Damaged batteries may also explode.
- Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations. Improper use may lead to fire, explosion, or other hazards.
- Keep batteries away from children and pets to prevent biting or sucking, which could cause damage or explosion.
- Do not smash, pierce, or expose the battery to high external pressure, as this may cause short circuits or overheating.
- Do not drop the device or battery. If dropped on a hard surface, it may be damaged.
- If the device standby time shortens significantly, replace the battery.
- For devices with non-removable batteries, do not attempt to remove the battery yourself. Contact an authorized service center for replacement.
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Keep the device and accessories dry. Do not use external heat sources (e.g., microwave, hair dryer) for drying.

RF Exposure Requirements
This device is designed to meet international guidelines for exposure to radio waves. It should be used at a minimum distance of 0.5 cm from the human body.
Certification Information (SAR)
The device meets radio wave exposure guidelines. The Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is measured at the highest certified power level but actual operational SAR is typically much lower, as the device uses minimum power necessary. The European SAR limit is 2.0 W/kg averaged over 10 grams of tissue, and this device complies with this limit.
