Device Appearance

Note: If you forget your Mobile WiFi device's username, password, or network name (SSID), restore its default settings.

Installation

Insert the SIM card into the device.

Wi-Fi® Connection

Your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password (Wi-Fi key) are printed on the Mobile WiFi device's label.

It is recommended to change the default Wi-Fi network name and password for network security.

Connect your devices (laptop, tablet, smartphone) to the Mobile WiFi's Wi-Fi network.

HUAWEI HiLink App

Download the HUAWEI HiLink app on your smartphone or tablet for easy management of your Mobile WiFi device. You can:

Scan this QR code to download the HUAWEI HiLink app.

Note: The Mobile WiFi device can also be managed via the configuration web page. To do this, enter http://192.168.8.1 in your browser's address bar. The default username and password are 'admin'. Visit the online help on the configuration web page for Mobile WiFi device information.

Wi-Fi Repeater (Optional)

The Wi-Fi repeater function allows you to connect to another Wi-Fi network and extend the Wi-Fi coverage of your Mobile WiFi device, reducing data traffic costs. Enable the Wi-Fi repeater function in the HUAWEI HiLink app and connect the Mobile WiFi device to the Wi-Fi network.

Charging

Charge the device using a compatible charger.

Note: The charger is an optional accessory. Contact an authorized dealer to purchase one.

Charging methods include connecting to a laptop via USB, using a power adapter, or connecting to a power bank.

Tips / Troubleshooting

  1. Unresponsive Device: Restart the device. If it still does not work, restore its factory settings.
  2. Connection Issues: If no client devices are connected for a period, the Wi-Fi network automatically turns off to save power. Press the power button to turn it back on. This feature can be disabled in the configuration web page app, but it will reduce battery life.
  3. Network Connection Failure: The PIN code verification function might be enabled. Open the HUAWEI HiLink app and enter the correct PIN code. You can disable this function in Settings to avoid entering the PIN code every time.
  4. Web Page Access Failure: There might be an IP address conflict. Try accessing the configuration web page using the address 192.168.9.1 instead of 192.168.8.1.
  5. Device Not Turning On: The battery might be discharged. Charge the device and try again.
  6. Sudden Shutdown: The device may overheat during prolonged use, triggering a protection mechanism. Place the device in a well-ventilated area and let it cool down before continuing use.
