Diagram shows the physical arrangement of these components on the motherboard.
Step 1: Install the CPU
Open the CPU socket lever.
Align the CPU's triangle marking with the socket's triangle marking.
Gently place the CPU into the socket.
Close the CPU socket lever to secure the CPU.
Diagram shows opening the CPU socket lever, aligning the CPU triangle with the socket triangle, and closing the lever.
Step 2: Install the CPU Fan
Follow the instructions provided with your CPU cooler to install it onto the motherboard, ensuring proper mounting over the CPU.
Diagram shows the CPU cooler being mounted over the CPU and socket area.
Step 3: Install Memory Modules
Open the clips on the RAM slots by pushing them outwards.
Align the notch on the memory module with the notch in the RAM slot.
Push down on both ends of the memory module until the clips snap into place, securing the module.
Diagram shows memory modules being inserted into DIMM slots, with clips opening and closing to secure them.
Step 4: Install Storage Devices
Install M.2 SSDs into the designated M.2 slots, aligning the notch and securing them with the provided screws.
Connect SATA storage devices (HDDs, SSDs) using SATA cables to the motherboard's SATA ports and to the power supply.
Diagrams illustrate M.2 SSD installation and SATA cable connections.
Step 5: Install Expansion Card(s)
Remove the corresponding slot cover from the PC case.
Align the expansion card (e.g., graphics card, network card) with the appropriate PCIe slot on the motherboard.
Push the card firmly into the slot until it is fully seated and the retention clip engages.
Diagram shows an expansion card being inserted into a PCIe slot.
Step 6: Install the System Panel Connector
Connect the PC case's front panel connectors (e.g., power button, reset button, HDD LED, power LED, front USB ports, front audio jacks) to the corresponding headers on the motherboard.
Diagram shows small connectors from the PC case being plugged into pin headers on the motherboard.
Step 7: Install ATX Power Connectors
Connect the 24-pin ATX power connector from the power supply unit (PSU) to the motherboard's main ATX power socket.
Connect the 4-pin or 8-pin ATX 12V power connector from the PSU to the CPU power socket on the motherboard.
Diagrams show the 24-pin and 8-pin power cables being connected to the motherboard.
Step 8: Connect Input/Output Devices
Connect your monitor to the graphics output (e.g., DisplayPort, HDMI) on the motherboard or expansion card.
Connect your keyboard and mouse to the USB ports on the rear I/O panel.
Connect speakers or headphones to the audio jacks on the rear I/O panel.
Connect the Ethernet cable to the LAN port for network connectivity.
Diagram shows connections to the rear I/O panel: monitor, USB devices, audio jacks, and Ethernet port.
Step 9: Power On the System and Install Operating System and Drivers
Connect the power cord to the PSU and plug it into a wall outlet. Turn on the computer using the power button.
Insert your operating system installation media (e.g., USB drive, DVD) and follow the on-screen prompts to install the OS.
After OS installation, install the necessary drivers (chipset, graphics, audio, network) from the ASUS support website or the included driver media.
