Installation Overview / Descripción General de la Instalación
Your roller shade is ready for mounting to a vertical surface. For top mounting (e.g., ceiling), you will need to make a simple change to your Wand Unit Bracket and Idle End Unit Bracket before installation. For wall mounting, proceed to Step 2.
Step 1 & 2: Bracket Preparation and Placement
Remove the two screws from both brackets A & B. Turn the Wand Unit 90° so the wand eyelet hangs straight down. Turn the Idle End Unit 90° so the opening faces away from the window or surface, then reinsert the screws.
The bracket-to-bracket distance should be the shade width plus 2.75 inches (6.98 cm). Center this calculated width on your opening and mark each side. Ensure at least 2.25 inches (5.71 cm) clearance between the wall or ceiling to allow the shade to roll up completely. Place the outside edge of the brackets on each mark, then mark the screw holes.
Step 3: Install Brackets
Install brackets with screws at the center of the screw holes to ensure enough space for adjustment. The Wand Unit Bracket should be on the right side, and the Idle End Unit Bracket on the left side. Note: The included screws are for wood only. Consult a store associate for mounting recommendations for other materials.
Step 4: Attach Wand and Plugs
Insert the Wand Side Plug into the Wand Unit Bracket. Then, insert the Idle End Plug into the Idle End Unit Bracket and snap it securely into place. Attach the Wand to the Wand Eyelet.
Step 5a & 5b: Check Level and Adjust / Remove Shade
After installation, check that the shade is level. Ensure side-to-side movement does not exceed 1/16 inch. If it does, the brackets are too far apart.
To adjust: Loosen the screws on the idle side, slide the bracket inward, retighten screws, and reinstall the shade.
To remove the shade: Roll it up completely. Use a flathead screwdriver to gently press upward in the opening on the Idle End Unit Bracket while gently pulling forward on the left side of the roll to release the shade from the bracket. Once disengaged, slide the wand side of the roller shade out.
Step 6 & 7: Optional Bungee Tie Downs
Optional Bungee Tie Downs are provided to secure your shade in mild to moderate wind conditions. Install the Receivers approximately 5 inches (13 cm) below where the shade will stop to allow for proper tension of the Bungee cord.
Note: Roll up your shade when not in use or before strong winds to prevent damage.
Thread the Bungee through the End Cap hole on the shade and feed the ball end back through the loop to make a knot. Attach the Bungees to the Receivers to secure the shade.
