1. What's in the box

The package includes:

• One JBL Xtreme 2 speaker
• One power adapter with interchangeable plugs
• One USB cable

2. Buttons

The JBL Xtreme 2 features several buttons on its top panel for control:

• Bluetooth button: For pairing devices.
• Power button: To turn the speaker on or off.
• Volume Down button: Decreases volume.
• Play/Pause button: Controls music playback (play, pause, next/previous track).
• Volume Up button: Increases volume.
• Connect+ button: For linking multiple JBL speakers.

3. Connections

The JBL Xtreme 2 offers various ways to connect your audio sources:

• AUX IN: Connect audio devices using a 3.5mm audio cable.
• USB Port: Primarily for firmware upgrades.
• Power Input: Connect the power adapter for charging.

4. Bluetooth®

1. Bluetooth connection

To connect your device via Bluetooth:

1. Turn on the JBL Xtreme 2 speaker.
2. Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the speaker until the indicator light flashes blue.
3. On your smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device, go to Bluetooth settings, search for "JBL Xtreme 2", and select it to pair.
4. Once paired, the indicator light will turn solid blue.

2. Music control

You can control your music playback directly from the speaker:

• Play/Pause: Press the Play/Pause button once to play or pause music.
• Next Track: Double-press the Play/Pause button to skip to the next track.
• Previous Track: Triple-press the Play/Pause button to go to the previous track.

3. Speakerphone

The JBL Xtreme 2 can function as a speakerphone for calls:

• When a call comes in on your connected smartphone, press the Play/Pause button to answer or end the call.
• Press and hold the Play/Pause button to reject an incoming call.

5. Voice assistant

Activate Siri or Google Assistant on your smartphone using the speaker:

To use your phone's voice assistant (Siri or Google Assistant), tap "Voice Assistant" in the JBL Connect app. This assigns the Play/Pause button (▶️) as the activation key for your phone's voice assistant.

Ensure that Siri or Google Assistant is enabled on your smartphone before attempting to use this feature.

6. JBL Connect+

Wirelessly link more than 100 JBL Connect+ compatible speakers together to amplify your listening experience. All linked speakers will play the same music from the same source.

Step 1

Play music on one of your JBL speakers. Then, press the JBL Connect+ button on all other desired speakers to start pairing.

Step 2

All connected JBL speakers will now play the same music simultaneously.

JBL Connect App

Download the JBL Connect app to unlock additional features:

• Stereo Setup: Configure stereo sound between two speakers.
• Firmware Upgrade: Keep your speaker's software up-to-date.
• Device Renaming: Customize the name of your JBL Xtreme 2.

7. LED Behavior

Understand the status of your speaker through its LED indicators:

• Power: White light indicates the speaker is on.
• Standby: White flashing light indicates standby mode.
• Bluetooth Pairing Mode: Blue flashing light indicates the speaker is ready to pair.
• Bluetooth Connected: Solid blue light indicates a successful Bluetooth connection.
• Connect+: White light indicates broadcasting mode for JBL Connect+.

8. Warning & Care

IPX7 Waterproof: The JBL Xtreme 2 is IPX7 waterproof, meaning it can be immersed in water up to 1 meter deep for up to 30 minutes.

Important Precautions:

• To ensure waterproof integrity, always remove all cable connections and tightly close the protective cap. Exposing the speaker to liquids without doing so may cause permanent damage.
• Do not expose the JBL Xtreme 2 to water while it is charging, as this can result in permanent damage to the speaker or power source.
• If the speaker will not be used for an extended period, recharge the battery at least once every 3 months to maintain battery health. Battery life may vary based on usage patterns and environmental conditions.
