Buttons
The speaker features several buttons for control:
- Power Button: Turns the speaker on/off.
- Bluetooth Button: Press to enter Bluetooth pairing mode or disconnect.
- Volume Down Button: Decreases volume.
- Volume Up Button: Increases volume.
- Play/Pause Button: Plays or pauses music. Can also be used to answer/end calls and activate voice assistant.
- Connect+ Button: Used to link multiple JBL Connect+ compatible speakers.
Connections
The speaker has the following ports:
- Power Adapter Port: For charging the speaker.
- USB Charge Out Port: To charge external devices (5V/2A max).
- Aux-in Port: For wired audio connection.
- Service Port: For firmware upgrades only.
Bluetooth Connectivity
1. Bluetooth Connection
To connect your device via Bluetooth:
- Press the Bluetooth button on the speaker to enter pairing mode.
- On your smartphone or tablet, go to Bluetooth settings, find "JBL Xtreme 2", and select it to connect.
2. Music Control
Once connected, you can control your music playback using the speaker's buttons: Play, Pause, Volume Up, and Volume Down.
3. Speakerphone
The JBL Xtreme 2 features a built-in speakerphone. To answer or end a call, press the Play/Pause button. The speaker uses noise and echo cancelling technology for clear calls.
Voice Assistant
Activate Siri or Google Now on your phone by tapping "Voice Assistant" in the JBL Connect app and then pressing the Play/Pause button (▶️) on the speaker.
JBL Connect+
Wirelessly link more than 100 JBL Connect+ compatible speakers together to amplify your listening experience. To start, play music on one speaker and then press the Connect+ button on all desired speakers to begin pairing. All linked speakers will play the same music from the source.
LED Behavior
The speaker uses LED indicators to show its status:
- Power: White (On), White Flash (Standby)
- Bluetooth: Blue Flash (Pairing mode), Blue On (Connected)
- Connect+: White On (Broadcasting mode)
Warning & IPX7 Waterproofing
The JBL Xtreme 2 is IPX7 waterproof, meaning it can be immersed in water up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes. To ensure waterproofing, always remove all cable connections and tightly close the speaker's cap. Do not expose the speaker to liquids while charging, as this may cause permanent damage. If the speaker will not be used for an extended period, recharge the battery at least once every 3 months.
