Quick Start Guide
1. What's in the box
The package typically includes the JBL Xtreme 2 speaker, a power adapter for charging, a strap for carrying, a quick start guide, a safety sheet, and a warranty card.

2. Buttons
The JBL Xtreme 2 features several buttons for control:
- Power Button: Turns the speaker on or off.
- Bluetooth Button: Initiates Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Volume Down Button: Decreases the volume.
- Volume Up Button: Increases the volume.
- Play/Pause Button: Plays or pauses music. Double-pressing this button can skip to the next track.
- Connect+ Button: Used for linking multiple JBL Connect+ compatible speakers.
3. Connections
The speaker has several ports:
- Aux-in: Connect audio devices via a 3.5mm cable.
- USB Charge Out: Allows charging of external devices (e.g., smartphones).
- Power Adapter Port: For charging the speaker's internal battery.
- Firmware Upgrade Port: For firmware updates (typically a micro-USB port).
Devices can be connected wirelessly via Bluetooth.
4. Bluetooth Features
4.1 Bluetooth Connection
To connect a device via Bluetooth:
- Press the Bluetooth button on the speaker to enter pairing mode.
- On your smartphone or tablet, enable Bluetooth and select "JBL Xtreme 2" from the list of available devices.
- Once connected, the speaker will indicate the connection status.
You can wirelessly connect up to two smartphones or tablets simultaneously to enjoy dynamic and immersive stereo sound.
4.2 Music Control
Use the speaker's buttons to control music playback:
- Press the Play/Pause button to play or pause music.
- Double-press the Play/Pause button to skip to the next track.
4.3 Speakerphone
The JBL Xtreme 2 features a speakerphone function for clear calls. Press the Play/Pause button to answer or end a call. Press and hold the Play/Pause button to reject an incoming call.
4.4 Voice Assistant
Tap "Voice Assistant" in the JBL Connect app to set the Play/Pause button (represented by a phone icon or '▷') as the activation key for Siri or Google Now on your smartphone. Ensure Siri or Google Now is enabled on your phone.
5. JBL Connect+
Wirelessly link more than 100 JBL Connect+ compatible speakers together to amplify your listening experience and create a larger sound system. To do this, play music on one JBL speaker, then press the JBL Connect+ button on all other desired speakers to start pairing. All linked speakers will play the same music from the source.
6. LED Behavior
The LEDs indicate the status of the speaker:
Power
- On: White solid light.
- Stand by: White flashing light.
Bluetooth
- Pairing mode: Blue flashing light.
- Connected: Blue solid light.
Connect+
- Broadcasting mode: White solid light.
7. Warnings and Safety Information
IPX7 Waterproof
The JBL Xtreme 2 is IPX7 waterproof, meaning it can be immersed in water up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes. To ensure waterproofing:
- Always remove all cable connections before exposing the speaker to liquids.
- Tightly close the protective cap covering the ports.
- Exposing the speaker to liquids without closing the cap may cause permanent damage.
- Do not expose the speaker to water while it is charging, as this may damage the speaker or the power source.
Battery Maintenance
If the speaker is not used for an extended period, recharge the battery at least once every 3 months to maintain battery health. Battery life may vary based on usage patterns and environmental conditions.
General Safety Instructions
- Read and keep all instructions.
- Heed all warnings and follow all instructions.
- Do not block ventilation openings.
- Do not install near heat sources.
- Do not defeat the safety purpose of polarized or grounding plugs.
- Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched.
- Use only manufacturer-specified attachments/accessories.
- Use only with compatible carts, stands, tripods, or brackets. Exercise caution when moving equipment on a cart to prevent tip-overs.
- Unplug during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
- To disconnect completely from AC mains, unplug the power-supply cord from the receptacle. Ensure the mains plug remains accessible.
- Do not expose batteries to excessive heat (sunshine, fire, etc.).
Electrical Safety
[Warning Symbol] Risk of electric shock. Do not open.
The lightning flash symbol indicates the presence of uninsulated "dangerous voltage" that may pose an electric shock risk.
The exclamation point symbol alerts users to important operating and maintenance instructions.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture.
RF Exposure and Compliance
This equipment complies with FCC/IC RSS-102 radiation exposure limits for an uncontrolled environment. Maintain a minimum distance of 20cm between the radiator and your body. For Wi-Fi 5G devices, high-power radars in certain bands may cause interference. Operation in the 5150-5350 MHz band is limited to indoor use in France. The device complies with Part 15 of FCC Rules and Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standards.
Laser Safety
This product may use a laser system. Do not open the enclosure or defeat safety mechanisms. Do not stare into the laser beam. Refer servicing to qualified personnel.
Hearing Protection
Caution: Permanent hearing loss may occur if earphones or headphones are used at high volume for prolonged periods. To prevent hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods.
Battery Disposal and Safety
WEEE Notice: This product must not be disposed of with household waste. Follow local regulations for recycling electronic waste. The WEEE logo (crossed-out wheeled bin) indicates proper disposal.
RoHS Compliance: This product complies with Directive 2011/65/EU.
EU Batteries Directive: This product contains batteries. Do not dispose of batteries with household trash. Contact local waste management for proper disposal. Improper battery replacement can cause explosion risk.
Battery Chemical Symbols: If batteries contain more than 0.0005% mercury, 0.002% cadmium, or 0.004% lead, they are marked with Hg, Cd, or Pb symbols respectively.
WARNING: DO NOT INGEST BATTERY, CHEMICAL BURN HAZARD. This product contains a coin/button cell battery. If swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns and death. Keep batteries away from children.

Warranty Information
HARMAN International Industries, Incorporated warrants the Product to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for a period of ONE year from the date of retail purchase. This Limited Warranty applies only to the original end-user in the country of purchase (excluding EEA member states and the Russian Federation). It covers repair or replacement at HARMAN's option. It does not cover damage from accident, misuse, neglect, shipment, cosmetic issues, unauthorized repairs, or normal wear and tear (e.g., batteries). For warranty service, contact the dealer or JBL customer support, providing proof of purchase. Unauthorized repairs void the warranty.
