Important Safety Instructions

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons when using your appliance, follow basic precautions:

  1. Read all instructions before using the appliance.
  2. Do not dry articles that have been previously cleaned in, washed in, soaked in, or spotted with gasoline, dry-cleaning solvents, or other flammable or explosive substances, as they give off vapours that could ignite or explode.
  3. Do not allow children to play on or in the appliance. Close supervision of children is necessary when the appliance is used near children.
  4. Before the appliance is removed from service or discarded, remove the door to the drying compartment.
  5. Do not reach into the appliance if the drum is moving.
  6. Do not install or store this appliance where it will be exposed to the weather.
  7. Do not tamper with controls.
  8. Do not repair or replace any part of the appliance or attempt any servicing unless specifically recommended in the user-maintenance instructions or in published user-repair instructions that you understand and have the skills to carry out.
  9. Do not use fabric softeners or products to eliminate static unless recommended by the manufacturer of the fabric softener or product.
  10. Do not use heat to dry articles containing foam rubber or similarly textured rubber-like materials.
  11. Clean lint screen before or after each load.
  12. Keep area around the exhaust opening and adjacent surrounding areas free from the accumulation of lint, dust, and dirt.
  13. The interior of the appliance and exhaust duct should be cleaned periodically by qualified service personnel.
  14. Do not place items exposed to cooking oils in your dryer. Items contaminated with cooking oils may contribute to a chemical reaction that could cause a load to catch fire.
  15. To reduce the risk of fire due to contaminated loads, the final part of a tumble dryer cycle occurs without heat (cool down period). Avoid stopping a tumble dryer before the end of the drying cycle unless all items are quickly removed and spread out so that the heat is dissipated.
  16. Do not install a clothes dryer with flexible plastic venting materials. If flexible metal (foil type) duct is installed, it must be of a specific type identified by the appliance manufacturer as suitable for use with clothes dryers. Flexible venting materials are known to collapse, be easily crushed, and trap lint. These conditions will obstruct clothes dryer airflow and increase the risk of fire.
  17. To reduce the risk of severe injury or death, follow all installation instructions.

Grounding Instructions

This appliance must be grounded. In the event of malfunction or breakdown, grounding will reduce the risk of electric shock by providing a path of least resistance for electric current. This appliance is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.

WARNING: Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service representative or personnel if you are in doubt as to whether the appliance is properly grounded.

Do not modify the plug provided with the appliance: if it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.

Operating Your Dryer

Electrical Requirements

The unit is required to be plugged into a three-pin socket that is reliably grounded. The power supply must be 120V/60Hz. Plug the power cord into the socket.

Loading the Dryer

  • Check items to be dried do not have combustible materials or foreign objects within them (e.g., lighters, hair pins, coins).
  • Turn items with zippers inside out and fasten buckles.
  • It is recommended that items are placed into the dryer one by one at a time to ensure they are not tangled, which results in uneven drying.
  • When closing the dryer door prior to starting the unit, ensure that items are not jammed in the door.

Tips Before Drying

  • Dryer heat may permanently set stains; ensure you check prior to drying that stains are removed.
  • Separate dark and light colored items as you would do when washing.
  • For best results, load the dryer with similar fabrics. Place small delicate items in a mesh bag and do not overload the dryer.
  • The maximum mass is 13.2 lbs of dry textile material for the dryer; do not overload.
  • The tumble dryer is intended only for drying textile material washed in water.

Control Panel Functions

The control panel allows you to select drying programs and functions. Common symbols found on laundry care labels and their meaning:

  • Dry flat: [Dry flat symbol]
  • Dry in the shade: [Dry in shade symbol]
  • Do not tumble dry: [Do not tumble dry symbol]
  • Hang to dry: [Hang to dry symbol]
  • Drip dry: [Drip dry symbol]

The dryer features several programs:

  • Start/Pause: Push to start or pause the program. Push again to resume. Be careful of hot steam when opening the door.
  • "Extra", "Smart": Clothes will turn off automatically when they are dry.

Programs and Operation

Selecting a Program

Decide on a program according to the texture and capacity of the clothes. Select the program to the desired program.

Starting and Pausing

Push the "START/PAUSE" button to start the program. If you wish to pause the program to add more clothes, push the "START/PAUSE" button again. Be careful when opening the dryer door, hot steam can release. To continue the program, make sure the door is closed then push the "START/PAUSE" button once again. When the dryer is in pause mode, it is possible to change or restart programs.

Automatic Shut-off

"Extra" and "Smart" programs: The clothes will turn off automatically when they are dry.

Operation Precautions

  • Delicate items should be placed into a nylon net bag prior to drying. It is not recommended to dry underwire bras in this unit.
  • Laundry Care Symbols: If any of the following symbols are on items you are drying, stop and do not use the dryer, as it may damage the item: [Dry flat symbol], [Dry in shade symbol], [Do not tumble dry symbol], [Hang to dry symbol], [Drip dry symbol].
  • Ensure that foreign objects do not find their way into the dryer. All pockets should be emptied, buttons, buckles and zips fastened. This will also help reduce impact noise when items hit against the turning drum.
  • Electrical Requirements: A three-pin socket must be used (reliably grounded).
  • Oil-Affected Items: Items spotted or soaked with vegetable or cooking oil constitute a fire hazard and should not be placed in a tumble dryer. Oil-affected items can ignite spontaneously, especially when exposed to heat sources. Oxidation creates heat. If heat cannot escape, items can become hot enough to catch fire. Piling, stacking or storing oil-affected items can prevent heat from escaping and so create a fire hazard.
  • Large Items: If drying large items such as a blanket, it is recommended that from time to time you open the dryer door, shake the item, place it back in the dryer and close the door. This will ensure even drying.
  • Anti-wrinkle Function: To ensure you get the most out of the Anti-wrinkle function, do not overload the dryer and remove the dried items from the dryer immediately and hang on coat hangers. Iron the items if desired.
  • Remove all objects from pockets such as lighters and matches.
