Installation Steps

Step 1: Prepare for Disassembly
The diagram shows the controller shell and indicates screws that need to be removed to open the device. Arrows show the direction of unscrewing.

Step 2: Remove Original Component
Illustration shows the original PCB being taken out of an anti-static bag, ready for replacement.

Step 3: Install New PCB
Diagram depicts the installation of the 8BitDo PCB into the controller housing and its connection to the battery component.

Step 4: Reassemble and Finalize
The final step shows the controller shell being closed, with screws being tightened. The assembled controller with buttons, D-pad, and LED indicator is also illustrated.
Connection Instructions
Switch ?
- Press Left + START to turn on the controller.
- Press and hold SELECT for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LED will rapidly blink.
- On your Switch Home Page, click on Controllers, then click on Change Grip/Order. The LED becomes solid when connection is successful.
- The controller will auto-reconnect to your Switch with the press of START once it has been paired.
- Note: SELECT + DOWN acts as the HOME button.
Android (D-input) ?
- Press B + START to turn on the controller.
- Press and hold SELECT for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LED will rapidly blink.
- Go to your Android device's Bluetooth settings, search for and pair with "[8BitDo Dogbone Modkit]". The LED becomes solid when connection is successful.
- The controller will auto-reconnect to your Android device with the press of START once it has been paired.
Windows (X-input) ?
- Press UP + START to turn on the controller.
- Press and hold SELECT for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LED will rapidly blink.
- Go to your Windows device's Bluetooth settings, search for and pair with "[8BitDo Dogbone Modkit]". The LED becomes solid when connection is successful.
- The controller will auto-reconnect to your Windows device with the press of START once it has been paired.
macOS ?
- Press A + START to turn on the controller.
- Press and hold SELECT for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LED will rapidly blink.
- Go to your macOS device's Bluetooth settings, search for and pair with "[Wireless Controller]". The LED becomes solid when connection is successful.
- The controller will auto-reconnect to your macOS device with the press of START once it has been paired.
Battery Status ?
Status:
- Low battery mode: LED blinks in red
- Battery charging: LED stays solid red
Rechargeable via USB cable with approximately 1 hour charging time.
