Important Safeguards

PLEASE READ AND SAVE THESE IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, and hyperthermia, including the following:

  • WARNING: Read all instructions before using heater.
  • This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. If provided, always use handles when moving this heater. Keep combustible materials such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 3' (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
  • Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
  • Always unplug the heater when not in use.
  • Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Discard heater or return heater to authorized service facility for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair.
  • Do not use the heater outdoors.
  • Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool. This heater is not intended for use in bathroom, laundry areas or other similar moist indoor locations. Never locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
  • Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Do not route cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.
  • CAUTION: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of shock, this plug is intended to fit only one way in a polarized outlet. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. DO NOT attempt to defeat this safety feature. To do so could result in an electric shock hazard.
  • This heater draws 12.5 A during operation. To prevent overloading a circuit, do not plug the heater into a circuit that already has other appliances working.
  • CAUTION: It is normal for the plug to feel warm to the touch; however, a loose fit between the AC outlet (receptacle) and plug may cause overheating and distortion of the plug. Contact a qualified electrician to replace loose or worn outlet.
  • To disconnect the heater, first turn controls to off, then remove plug from outlet. Never pull by the cord.
  • Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
  • To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surface, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
  • A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in the areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.
  • Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
  • CAUTION: Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
  • The output of this heater may vary and its temperature may become intense enough to burn exposed skin. Use of this heater is not recommended for persons with reduced sensitivity to heat or an inability to react to avoid burns.
  • Disposal of oil contained within should be in accordance with applicable regional, national, and local laws and regulations.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • WARNING: Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • WARNING: In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.
  • The heater must not be located immediately below a socket outlet.
  • This heater is filled with a precise quantity of special oil. Repairs requiring opening of the oil container are only to be made by the manufacturer or his service agent who should be contacted if there is an oil leak.
  • When scrapping the heater, follow the regulations concerning the disposal of oil.
  • WARNING: This heater is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature.
  • Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided.
  • If the SUPPLY CORD is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  • CAUTION: TO PREVENT ELECTRIC SHOCK, MATCH WIDE BLADE OF PLUG TO WIDE SLOT AND FULLY INSERT.
  • This heater cannot achieve accurate temperature control of the environment, and thus cannot be used as insulation device for storage environment, items, animals and plants.
  • Don't leave the heater on unattended.
  • Hyperthermia can result in death. Symptoms of hyperthermia include high body temperature, headache, nausea, vomiting, tiredness, dizziness, fainting, and rapid pulse. If you begin to experience symptoms related to hyperthermia, turn off the heater and seek medical attention.
  • To avoid excessive room temperatures which can cause hyperthermia: DO NOT leave product running unattended in a confined space around infants, or individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities.
  • CAUTION-Risk of fire- Do Not Operate without Legs (Base) Attached.

Operating Instructions

Inspection before start

  1. The power cord shall not be damaged or fractured.
  2. Please verify the rated current of the power socket is in line with the requirements in the table above and is equipped with a safety grounding device before use; otherwise, replace the socket.

Work/Standby

Plug in the power. The buzzer will "beep" for a long time. Press the standby button [Power Symbol] to enter the high-grade heating working state, and then press the standby button [Power Symbol] to enter the standby state.

Gear Selection

For work status, press the "MODE" button to select one of work modes such as high gear, medium gear, low gear, and energy saving gear.

Temperature Setting

Under the working status, press and hold the Up Arrow [↑] button or Down Arrow [↓] button to set the temperature. Press and hold the Up Arrow [↑] button or the Down Arrow [↓] button to quickly set the temperature. After setting the temperature, have non-operation for 5 seconds, exit the temperature setting screen. After the initial use or memory clear, the whole machine runs according to the factory settings. The default setting temperature is 95°F and the gear position is high-end.

Scheduled Work

Tap the timer button [Clock Symbol] in standby mode to enter the scheduled work setting screen. Press the Up Arrow [↑] button or Down Arrow [↓] button to set the scheduled time. Press and hold the Up Arrow [↑] button or Down Arrow [↓] button for a long time to quickly set the scheduled time, and the scheduled time will reach the working status of the machine. The buzzer will ring with a long beep.

Scheduling Standby

Under the working status, press the timer button [Clock Symbol] to enter the scheduling standby setting screen. Press the Up Arrow [↑] button or Down Arrow [↓] button to set the scheduling time. Press and hold the Up Arrow [↑] button or Down Arrow [↓] button for a long time to quickly set the scheduling time, and the scheduling time is in the standby state to the machine.

Scheduling Details

A: The scope of scheduling is for 0-24 hours, and press the Down Arrow [↓] button or Up Arrow [↑] button each time to increase or decrease 1 hour. When the set value is 0h, press the Down Arrow [↓] button to set the time for 24h. When the set value is 24h, press the Up Arrow [↑] button, and the setting time is 0h. When the set value is 0h, the scheduling is canceled. When the set value is not 0h, the scheduling is started. Set the appointment time, press the timing button [Clock Symbol] or "MODE" button, or without operation for 5 seconds, exit scheduling mode.

B: If the scheduling time is set, press the standby button [Power Symbol] to enter the standby state and cancel the scheduling.

C: After the scheduling is started, press the scheduling button [Clock Symbol] to check the remaining time of the appointment and reset the scheduling time. During the scheduled time, the machine is shut down or started up under temperature control, and the scheduled time is always normal, and free from down time. During the scheduled time, it is cleared in case of power failure.

Child Lock Function

In the working and standby modes, with no child lock effective state, press the standby button [Power Symbol] and "MODE" for 3 seconds to turn on the child lock function. Under the working status and the effective state of the standby open child lock, press the standby button [Power Symbol] and "MODE" simultaneously for 3 seconds to turn off the child lock function.

[Remarks] When the child lock is activated, no operation including the standby mode can be performed.

Memory Function

When started up the machine again, it will operate according to the status before the last standby.

Safety Protection Function

When the indoor ambient temperature Th exceeds 122°F under the standby or working state, all outputs are turned off, the buzzer prompts 10 long beeps, the digital screen displays "FF" and flashes at 1 Hz for 75 seconds. As long as there is protection, even if the ambient temperature is less than 122°F, the running or operation cannot be resumed, and the operation can only be performed after the power is turned off and on again.

Shut Down

Under the working state, press the standby button [Power Symbol] on the control panel to enter the standby state, unplug the power cord, wait for the whole machine to cool, and place the heater stably.

Inspection Method

[Note] To use the machine for the first time or to re-insert the socket, please pay attention to check whether the plug and the socket are fitted well.

Insert the power plug into the socket and start for use. After about half an hour, turn off and pull out the plug. Check whether the plug pins are hot; replace the socket if so (more than about 122°F) to avoid burning the plug or even causing a fire caused by overheating of the socket due to poor contact.

Using the Remote Control

Battery Replacement

  1. Remove the battery cover in the direction indicated by the arrow.
  2. Replace with two new AAA 1.5 batteries. Make sure that the positive(+) and negative(-) terminals are positioned correctly.
  3. Push the battery cover back into place.

WARNING:

  • Replace with new batteries of the same type when replacement is required.
  • Remove the batteries when the remote control is unused for long period of time.
  • Do not attempt to dismantle the batteries.
  • Do not dispose of the batteries in fire; batteries may explode or leak.
  • Chemical burn hazard. Keep batteries away from children.

[Special Note] This heater is provided with a safe feature to de-energize the power of heater when overheating because of any abnormal operation. When it occurs, unplug the heater and check the abnormal conditions and eliminate them before attempting to use it. After cooling down, it may be energized for reuse.

Troubleshooting

Operation of your appliance can lead to errors and malfunctions. The following tables contain possible causes and notes for resolving an error message or malfunction. It is recommended to read the table below carefully in order to save your time and money that may cost for calling to the service center.

Fault symptoms Fault description
The power indicator light does not turn on and the device does not work after connecting to the power source. The plug is not inserted properly. Please check if the plug is correctly inserted into the socket.
The device suddenly stops heating during operation. The temperature has exceeded the threshold of the limit switch. Please wait for the device to cool down before using it again.
The plug overheats or ignites. The current overload of the socket or the aging of the socket causes the contact to loosen. Please use sockets that meet the requirements and standards of their respective countries or regions.
Burnt odor and inability to operate (caused by the accumulation of dust inside). The machine is used in an environment with a lot of dust or hair. Recommended to place the machine in a clean and well-ventilated area.
The temperature sensor is not accurate. The space heater is a local heating product, and it is normal to have inconsistent temperatures in different areas of the room when in use. It is normal phenomenon.

Cleaning And Maintenance

  1. Always remove the plug from the power socket and allow heater to cool. Wipe heater with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use detergents and abrasives.
  2. If the heater is not in use over a certain length of time, wind the cable around the holder and store it in a dry place.
  3. In case of malfunction, do not try to repair the heater by yourself. It may result in fire hazard or electric shock.
  4. For any other service not mentioned in this instruction, it should be performed by an authorized service representative.

Midea America Corporation warrants as limited herein to the original purchaser of retail that this new Product shall be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase. This one (1) year warranty is limited to the Motor and Electric Element.

In the event of malfunctions or failure of your Product, simply deliver or send the Product, postage prepaid along with PROOF OF PURCHASE, within the warranty period of one (1) year, to Midea America Corporation. Midea America Corporation reserves the right to inspect the claimed defective part or parts to determine if the defect or malfunction complaint is covered by this warranty. Midea America Corporation shall, within sixty (60) days after receipt of the product, at its option, repair and/or replace the defective part or parts free of charge.

This warranty shall only cover defects arising from normal usage. Midea America Corporation assumes no responsibility whatsoever if the Product should fail during the warranty period by reason of:
