IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons. Please read and save these instructions.
- Read all instructions before using this heater.
- This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Use handles when moving. Keep combustible materials (furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, curtains) at least 3 feet (0.9m) from the front, sides, and rear of the heater.
- Use extreme caution when the heater is unattended or used near children or disabled persons.
- Always unplug the heater when not in use.
- Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug, or after it malfunctions, has been dropped, or damaged. Discard or return for examination/repair.
- Do not use outdoors.
- This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas, or similar indoor locations. Never position where it may fall into a bathtub or come in contact with water.
- Cord Safety: Do not run cord under carpeting, cover with throw rugs/runners, or route under furniture/appliances. Arrange cord away from traffic areas to prevent tripping.
- To disconnect: First turn controls to OFF, then remove plug from outlet.
- Do not insert or allow foreign objects into any ventilation or exhaust opening, as this may cause electric shock, fire, or damage.
- To prevent fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust openings. Do not use on soft surfaces like beds where openings may become blocked.
- Heaters have hot and arcing/sparking parts. Do not use in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.
- Use this heater only as described in this manual. Other uses not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury.
- ⚠️ CAUTION: Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap.
- This heater draws 12.5 Amps. To prevent circuit overloading, do not plug into a circuit already in use by other appliances.
- It is normal for the plug to feel warm. However, a loose fit between the AC outlet and plug may cause overheating/distortion. Contact a qualified electrician to replace loose or worn outlets.
- The heater's output can vary and become intense enough to burn exposed skin. Not recommended for persons with reduced heat sensitivity or inability to avoid burns.
- Do not leave the heater on unattended.
- ⚠️ CAUTION: To prevent electric shock, match the wide blade of the plug to the wide slot and fully insert.
- ? SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
UNPACKING AND SET-UP INSTRUCTIONS
Unpack your heater and find the wheel holding plates and butterfly nuts.
- Ensure the heater is unplugged and the power/setting control is in the "0" (OFF) position.
- Turn the heater upside down.
- Attach the wheel holding plates: one between the last two fins and the other next to the metal control box.
- Insert and securely tighten the butterfly nuts.
- Turn the heater upright.
Your heater is now ready to use.
⚠️ CAUTION: Risk of fire – Do not operate heater without wheel assemblies attached. Operate heater only in an upright position (wheels on bottom, controls on top). Any other position could create a hazardous situation.
Diagram Description: An illustration shows the heater upside down with arrows indicating the attachment points for the wheel holding plates and the securing of butterfly nuts.
PARTS AND FEATURES
❗ IMPORTANT!
Your heater is equipped with a polarized alternating current line plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug fits into the power outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you cannot insert the plug fully, try reversing it. If it still fails to fit, contact your electrician to replace your outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.
Control Panel Features:
- A: Power Indicator Light
- B: Thermostat Control
- C: Power and Setting Control
Additional Features:
- Cord Wrap: Neatly stores the power cord when the heater is not in use.
- Convenient Carry Handles and Heavy-Duty Caster Wheels: Allow for easy maneuvering from room to room.
OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Place the heater on a firm, level surface free from obstructions, at least 3 feet (0.9m) from any wall or other objects like furniture, curtains, or plants.
- With the Power and Setting Control "C" in the "0" (OFF) position, plug the heater into a grounded 120V outlet.
- Turn the heater "ON" by rotating the Power and Setting Control "C" clockwise to your desired power setting (1, 2, or 3). The Power Indicator Light "A" will illuminate.
- Turn the Thermostat Control "B" to your desired setting from "MIN" to "MAX".
SETTINGS FOR OPTIMUM COMFORT
- To start heating, turn the thermostat control clockwise to the highest position. Allow the heater to warm up the room.
- When the desired temperature/comfort level is reached, lower the temperature setting by turning the Thermostat Control counter-clockwise until the heater stops operating.
- The thermostat will automatically maintain the pre-set temperature level by turning the heater ON and OFF.
ℹ️ NOTE: There will be temperature variance measured at the internal sensor. When the ambient temperature drops below the set temperature, it may take longer for the internal sensor to cool down and then re-activate the heater. If the ambient temperature is too low, raise the set temperature level for constant heat.
ℹ️ NOTE: It is normal for the heater to cycle ON and OFF as it maintains the preset temperature. To prevent the unit from cycling, raise the temperature setting.
⚠️ CAUTION: This heater includes an Overheat Protection System that shuts the unit off if it overheats due to abnormal temperatures. At this time, the "A" Power Indicator light goes off. If this occurs, turn the heater "OFF", unplug it, inspect and remove any objects on or adjacent to the heater. Allow it to cool for a few minutes, plug it back in, and resume normal operation.
ℹ️ Note: This heater includes a safety tip-over switch, which will shut the heater off if it is tipped over. If at any time the heater tips over, please put it back in the upright position (wheels on bottom, controls on top). The heater will resume normal operation.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
- Safety Cover: Helps prevent children or pets from touching the hot top surface.
- Convenient Carry Handles and Heavy-Duty Caster Wheels: Allow for easy transport from room to room.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If your heater fails to operate, please follow these instructions:
- Ensure that your circuit breaker or fuse is working properly.
- Be sure the heater is plugged in and that the electrical outlet is working properly.
- Check for any obstruction. If you find an obstruction, turn the heater "OFF", unplug it, wait a few minutes for it to cool down, carefully remove the obstruction, plug it back in, and turn it on again by referring to the OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS.
CLEANING AND STORAGE
It is recommended that the heater be cleaned at least once during the operating season for optimum performance. ALWAYS TURN THE POWER SWITCH OFF AND UNPLUG THE HEATER BEFORE CLEANING. Save the box for off-season storage.
- Turn the heater "OFF", unplug it, and wait for it to cool down.
- Use a dry cloth to clean only external surfaces.
- Do not use any cleaning agents or detergents.
- Never immerse the heater in water.
- Pack the heater in its original carton and store it in a cool and dry place.
