Quick Start Guide
- FIT BATTERIES: Slide the back cover downward, insert batteries matching (+) and (-) ends, slide cover back into place.
- SELECT MODE: Press the MODE button to cycle through AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT, FAN.
- SELECT TEMPERATURE: Use the TEMP ∧ or ∨ buttons to set the desired temperature.
- SELECT FAN SPEED: Use the FAN SPEED buttons (or TEMP ∧/∨) to select fan speed (AU, 20%-100%).
- POINT REMOTE TOWARD UNIT: Ensure the remote is pointed towards the indoor unit.
- PRESS POWER BUTTON: Press the ON/OFF button to turn the unit on or off.
NOT SURE WHAT A FUNCTION DOES? Refer to the How to Use Basic Functions and How to Use Advanced Functions sections of this manual for a detailed description of how to use your air conditioner.
Special Notes:
- Button designs on your unit may differ slightly from the example shown.
- If the indoor unit does not have a particular function, pressing that function's button on the remote control will have no effect.
- When there are wide differences between "Remote controller Manual" and "Owner's Manual" on function description, the description of "Owner's Manual" shall prevail.
Handling the Remote Controller
Inserting and Replacing Batteries
Your air conditioning unit may come with two batteries (some units). Put the batteries in the remote control before use.
- Slide the back cover from the remote control downward, exposing the battery compartment.
- Insert the batteries, paying attention to match up the (+) and (-) ends of the batteries with the symbols inside the battery compartment.
- Slide the battery cover back into place.
Battery Notes:
- For optimum product performance: Do not mix old and new batteries, or batteries of different types.
- Do not leave batteries in the remote control if you don't plan on using the device for more than 2 months.
Battery Disposal:
Do not dispose of batteries as unsorted municipal waste. Refer to local laws for proper disposal of batteries.
Tips for Using Remote Control:
- The remote control must be used within 8 meters of the unit.
- The unit will beep when remote signal is received.
- Curtains, other materials and direct sunlight can interfere with the infrared signal receiver.
- Remove batteries if the remote will not be used more than 2 months.
Notes for Using Remote Control (Regulatory Compliance):
The device could comply with the local national regulations. In Canada, it should comply with CAN ICES-3(B)/NMB-3(B). In USA, this device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. Buttons and Functions
Before you begin using your new air conditioner, make sure to familiarize yourself with its remote control. The following is a brief introduction to the remote control itself. For instructions on how to operate your air conditioner, refer to the How to Use Basic Functions section of this manual.
- ON/OFF: Turns the unit on or off.
- TEMP ∧: Increases temperature in 1°C (1°F) increments. Max. temperature is 30°C (86°F). Press TEMP ∧ and TEMP ∨ together for 3 seconds to alternate temperature display between °C & °F.
- SET: Scrolls through operation functions: Fresh/UV-C lamp (?), Sleep (?), Follow Me (?), AP mode (?). The selected symbol will flash; press OK to confirm.
- TEMP ∨: Decreases temperature in 1°C (1°F) increments. Min. temperature is 16°C (60°F).
- FAN SPEED: Selects fan speeds in order: AU → 20% → 40% → 60% → 80% → 100%. Press TEMP ∧ or ∨ to increase/decrease fan speed in 1% increments.
- SWING: Starts and stops horizontal louver movement. Hold for 2 seconds for vertical louver auto swing feature.
- MODE: Scrolls through operation modes: AUTO → COOL → DRY → HEAT → FAN. (Note: HEAT mode is not supported by cooling-only appliances.)
- ECO/GEAR: Enters energy efficient mode sequence: ECO → GEAR(75%) → GEAR(50%) → Previous setting mode → ECO...
- OK: Used to confirm selected functions.
- TIMER: Set timer to turn unit on or off.
- BREEZE AWAY: Avoids direct airflow for comfort. Available in COOL, FAN, and DRY modes only.
- CLEAN: Used to start/stop Active Clean function.
- LED: Turns indoor unit's LED display and buzzer on/off (model dependent) for a comfortable environment.
- Turbo: Enables unit to reach present temperature quickly. Long press (>5 seconds in heating mode) for Super Heat operation. Long press (>3 seconds) to stop.
Model numbers covered include RG10R(M2S)/BGEFU1, RG10R(E2S)/BGEFU1, RG10R(F2S)/BGEFU1.
Remote Screen Indicators
Information displayed when the remote controller is powered up.
- Transmission Indicator: Lights up when remote sends signal to indoor unit.
- TIMER ON/OFF display: Shows timer status.
- Silence feature display: Indicates silence mode.
- FAN SPEED display: Shows selected fan speed (Silence, LOW, MED, HIGH, AUTO).
- Horizontal louver swing display: Indicates horizontal louver position.
- Vertical louver auto swing display: Indicates vertical louver movement.
- Turbo mode display: Indicates turbo mode is active.
- MODE display: Shows current mode (AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT, FAN).
- ECO display: Shows when ECO feature is activated.
- GEAR display: Shows when GEAR feature is activated.
- LOCK display: Shows when LOCK feature is activated.
- Temperature/Timer/Fan speed display: Shows set temperature, timer, or fan speed. Temperature range: 60-86°F/16-30°C. Timer range: 0-24 hours. Fan speed range: AU -100%.
Note: All indicators shown are for clarity; actual operation may only display relative function signs.
How to Use Basic Functions
ATTENTION: Before operation, please ensure the unit is plugged in and power is available.
AUTO Mode
Select AUTO mode using the MODE button, set your desired temperature using TEMP ∧/∨, then press ON/OFF to turn on the air conditioner.
NOTE: In AUTO mode, the unit automatically selects COOL, FAN, or HEAT based on the set temperature. Fan speed cannot be set in AUTO mode.
COOL or HEAT Mode
Select COOL/HEAT mode using the MODE button, set the temperature using TEMP ∧/∨, set the fan speed, then press ON/OFF to turn on the air conditioner.
DRY Mode
Select DRY mode using the MODE button, set your desired temperature using TEMP ∧/∨, then press ON/OFF to turn on the air conditioner.
NOTE: In DRY mode, fan speed is automatically controlled and cannot be set.
FAN Mode
Select FAN mode using the MODE button, set the fan speed, then press ON/OFF to turn on the air conditioner.
NOTE: In FAN mode, you cannot set the temperature, and no temperature displays on the remote screen.
Setting the Timer
TIMER ON/OFF
Set the amount of time after which the unit will automatically turn on/off.
TIMER ON setting:
Press the TIMER button to initiate the ON time sequence. Press TEMP ∧ or ∨ multiple times to set the desired ON time. Point the remote to the unit and wait 1 second; the TIMER ON will be activated.
TIMER OFF setting:
Press the TIMER button to initiate the OFF time sequence. Press TEMP ∧ or ∨ multiple times to set the desired OFF time. Point the remote to the unit and wait 1 second; the TIMER OFF will be activated.
NOTE: Time increments are 30 minutes up to 10 hours, then 1 hour up to 24 hours. The timer reverts to 0.0 after 24 hours. Cancel by setting timer to 0.0h.
TIMER ON & OFF setting (example):
Example: If current time is 1:00 PM, setting the timer for 2.5 hours ON and 5 hours OFF means the unit will turn on at 3:30 PM and turn off at 6:00 PM.
How to Use Advanced Functions
Swing function
Horizontal swing: Press the Swing button. The horizontal louver will swing up and down. Press again to stop.
Vertical swing: Keep pressing the Swing button for more than 2 seconds (for units with vertical louver swing feature).
Airflow direction: Continue pressing the Swing button to cycle through five different airflow directions.
LED DISPLAY
Turn display/buzzer on/off: Press the LED button.
Display actual room temperature: Press the LED button for more than 5 seconds (some units). Press again for more than 5 seconds to revert to the setting temperature.
LOCK function
Activate: Press Clean and Turbo buttons together for more than 5 seconds. All buttons will be locked except these two.
Deactivate: Press Clean and Turbo buttons together for 2 seconds.
ECO/GEAR Function
Press the ECO/GEAR button to enter the energy efficient mode sequence: ECO → GEAR(75%) → GEAR(50%) → Previous setting mode → ECO...
Note: This function is only available under COOL mode.
ECO operation:
Under cooling mode, the remote controller adjusts temperature to 24°C/75°F and fan speed to Auto for energy saving (if set temperature is less than 24°C/75°F). If the set temperature is above 24°C/75°F, fan speed changes to Auto, and set temperature remains unchanged.
NOTE: Pressing the ECO/GEAR button, changing mode, or setting temperature below 24°C/75°F will stop ECO operation. ECO operation may result in insufficient cooling if the set temperature is 24°C/75°F or above.
GEAR operation:
Enter GEAR operation: 75% (up to 75% electrical energy consumption) → 50% (up to 50% electrical energy consumption) → Previous setting mode. The setting temperature reverts after 3 seconds.
Silence function
Activate/Deactivate: Keep pressing the Fan button for more than 2 seconds.
Note: Due to low frequency operation, cooling/heating capacity may be insufficient. Pressing ON/OFF, Mode, Turbo, Clean, or Sleep feature will cancel Silence function.
FP Function
Activate: Press the button 2 times within one second under HEAT Mode with the setting temperature of 16°C/60°F.
The unit will operate at high fan speed (while compressor is on) with temperature automatically set to 8°C/46°F.
Note: This function is for heat pump air conditioners only. Pressing ON/OFF, Mode, Fan, or Temp. buttons, or starting the sleep feature will cancel this function.
CLEAN Function
Press the Clean button to activate the Active Clean function.
The Active Clean Technology washes away dust, mold, and grease that may cause odors by automatically freezing and then rapidly thawing the heat exchanger's frost. When this function is turned on, the indoor unit display window shows "CL". The unit will turn off automatically and cancel CLEAN function after 20 to 45 minutes.
Turbo Function
Turbo Function
COOL mode: Blows cool air with strongest wind setting to jump-start the cooling process.
HEAT mode: Blows heat air with strongest wind setting to jump-start the heating process. For units with electric heat elements, the Electric HEATER will activate.
Super heat function
Activate: Long press the Turbo button for 5 seconds in Heating/Auto heating mode.
Deactivate: Long press the Turbo button for 3 seconds.
This function improves heating speed at low temperatures. Under super heat mode, the louver opens to its maximum angle to reach the preset temperature quickly.
Note: The anti-cold air feature is disabled 5 minutes after the compressor starts, potentially causing low air outlet temperature. You should choose whether to enable this function based on your needs.
NOTE: If Super heat function is activated, "On" displays for 3 seconds. If stopped, "OF" displays for 3 seconds. Change the mode or turn the unit off to stop Super heating operation.
SET Function
To select a function: Press the SET button to enter function setting, then press SET button or TEMP ∧/∨ to select the desired function. The selected symbol will flash; press OK to confirm. To cancel, repeat the procedure.
Press the SET button to scroll through operation functions: Fresh/UV-C lamp (?) → Sleep (?) → Follow Me (?) → AP mode (?). [*]: Only for units with Fresh or AP function.
FRESH/UV-C lamp function:
Activates the Ionizer or UV-C lamp (model dependent) for air purification.
Sleep function:
Decreases energy use during sleep. Can only be activated via remote control. For details, see "Sleep operation" in the "Owner's Manual".
Note: The SLEEP function is not available in FAN or DRY mode.
AP function:
Choose AP mode for wireless network configuration. If it doesn't work via the SET button, press the LED button seven times in 10 seconds to enter AP mode.
Follow Me function:
Measures ambient temperature at the remote's location every 3 minutes and sends it to the air conditioner. This optimizes temperature for comfort in AUTO, COOL, or HEAT modes.
Note: Press SET to select Follow Me, then OK to confirm. Pressing OK for 3 seconds starts/stops the memory feature. "On" or "OF" displays. The memory feature is not cancelled by ON/OFF button, mode shift, or power failure.
