Product Overview
This quick guide provides essential information for the Fanatec CSL Elite Steering Wheel McLaren GT3. It covers setup, calibration, modes, and button mapping for an enhanced racing simulation experience.
Modes
Switch between different console and PC modes by simultaneously pressing and holding the + and - buttons for one second. The wheel base LED indicates the active mode: Green for Xbox One, Red for PC, Blue for PS4™, and Purple for compatibility mode.
Shifter Calibration
To enter shifter calibration mode, simultaneously press and hold the [TUNING MENU] and + buttons. Refer to the shifter manual for detailed instructions.
Center Calibration
If a center calibration is required (e.g., after a firmware update), enter the tuning menu by pressing the [TUNING MENU] button. Once "SETTING" appears, turn the wheel to its center position and press the [FunkySwitch™] + buttons simultaneously to calibrate the wheel center.
Tuning Menu Navigation
Access the tuning menu by pressing the [TUNING MENU] button. Use the D-PAD [FunkySwitch™] to navigate: press up/down for setups (SET 1-5), right/left to cycle through options, and rotate to adjust values. Changes are applied and stored immediately.
Attaching the Rim
Before mounting, download and install the latest PC driver and wheel base firmware from www.fanatec.com. Follow these steps:
- Use the provided fixing screw (ISO 4762 M6 x 16mm) and hex key from the backside of the wheel.
- Align the wheel base axis and slide the CSL Elite Steering Wheel McLaren GT3 onto it.
- Turn the wheel to access the bottom clamp ring.
- Push the steering wheel until the screw hole aligns with the wheel base axis hole.
- Secure the clamp ring mechanism by tightening the fixing screw. Ensure it is properly secured.
For quicker attachment and removal, consider the ClubSport QuickRelease Adapter (CS QRA), available as an accessory on www.fanatec.com.
Analog Paddle Modes
The CSL Elite Steering Wheel McLaren GT3 features two analog paddles. The blue multi-position switch allows selection between four modes:
- A Clutch bite point: Both paddles work in parallel; the one pressed further is valid.
- B Handbrake + Clutch: Left paddle for handbrake, right for clutch.
- C Brake + Throttle: Left paddle for brake, right for throttle.
- D Mappable analog axes: Paddles can be mapped as two additional axes.
The clutch bite point feature (Mode A) allows setting the clutch engagement point for race starts. Press both paddles fully, then release one to set the bite point percentage. This ensures an optimal clutch release when the start lights turn green.
